A lot will depend on QB situation. Can't have Holman back there keeping other teams in games by himself.
defense will keep us in almost every game, Milton will get better every game and is already better than Holman. I think bowl eligibility should be a given at this point, should be able to beat every team except Houston and maybe USF (it pains me to say that).
right there with you, that is the single worst blown call i have ever witnessed. Rucker was actively trying to avoid contact and still got tossed. Refs and rules are ruining football, regardless of the intended purpose and application. If you can't administer a rule fairly and without unduly affecting the game, you shouldn't have the rule until you can do so.
I have a hard time believing they will overturn that one after the game, opens up too many issues for them. They will just stubbornly insist it was the right call and protect shitty refs that don't deserve it.
Oregon is a dumpster fire this year. They have to fire their coach I'd think. Hope Frost doesn't get that job.
I doubt he would go back and I doubt they would hire him honestly. It doesn't matter anyway. they won't, and shouldn't, fire helfrich yet. He is still like 36-6 or something. They have a ton of injuries and no real QB. They couldn't get a QB to come there while mariota was there because recruits knew they wouldn't get to play, so they've been using transfers the last 2 years. Maybe I'm just too old because I grew up when Oregon was average at best in the 80s and most the 90s. I'm not jaded like the majority of their crowd that's only been around since Chip's uptempo offense. I'd be more worried about Nebraska hiring him away since everyone there wants him bad
I don't know how Frost could keep Holman in there if Milton is able to play. The difference in the offense with each of them is night and day. He already burnt his red shirt, there is no reason that he shouldn't be starting if he is healthy
I'm enjoying it. After all the shit they talked about Scott Frost and acted like losing him was an upgrade.
If Texas, LSU, Auburn, Oregon, USC and probably one or two other name jobs open up this offseason will be nuts. I'm sure UH will lose Herman. Potential for us, USF, Temple, and Memphis to lose their coaches too this year. Maybe someone gives the Chad a job and he can leave SMU.
If I remember some videos on youtube breaking down the offense that's part of the key to it all. When they play the run enough it opens the pass. I hope we see squibs for the rest of the season and we start on the 35 every drive as well.
Yeah I will say about 80% chance it gets pushed to Nov 5...which totally fucks me, we have planned our kids birthdays parties for that day and a Disney character dinner that night...Fuck off Mathew.
Just wanted to say after watching the pre Tulane interviews that Killans has very kind eyes and looks like he'd call the next day.
Paid for a concert ticket before realizing the game was Friday. I'm not going to be mad if they move the game.
I was there 2 weeks ago and every Nebraska fan I talked to about their program brought up Frost being their coach in the next 2 years within 5 minutes of conversation so it sure seemed like it to me
Don't get me wrong man, I hope you're right. Frost has been a godsend for us, would hate to lose him so quickly
They have a bye week and then both Indiana schools. They'll be 7-0 but it'll be on the back of a very very soft opening schedule. Fresno Wyoming Northwestern Illinois Indiana and Purdue will make up 6 of those 7 wins.
The people I talked to didn't come across as wanting Riley fired. All of them said pretty much the same thing when asked about Riley; he is a nice guy which is great to have after years of Bo being Bo, but they are really excited to get Frost as the next head coach. It sounded like even they like Riley, he is really just there until Frost says yes.
I'm on a cruise Nov 5th... At least its just Tulane. I don't see anyway they play this game this weekend. The hurricane seems to be veering closer and closer to land.
Wonder if they will just move it to Saturday. Weather supposed to be nice that day. Just maybe too risky if power outage or debris issues.
It's not just the game time though, the logistics of flying in a football team and getting their equipment here won't happen between now and Saturday at this point
