I’m driving but can someone look up how many FBS teams have gone 11-1 or better all three regular seasons over the past three years?
What level of talent do you think this offense has? I guess you can start by listing their recruiting rankings.
What is the argument here? Third year starter at QB sucking shit. Coley has to help him more but playcalling isn’t the biggest issue. elite RB and depth #1 OT on the draft boards. Wilson has been very good as well. Kindley is overrated as shit. Mays too. A lot of depth. Idk why Salyer hasn’t gotten a look over Kindley. Young, but talented at WR. Not shit at TE.
The question is, how good should our 2019 offense be? Wu thinks we are seeing it, but I think we should be better.
I’m not trolling at all. I’m not thrilled with the offense but I’m enjoying the hell out of this season and think it’s sad that many of you aren’t. Life is short. If you can’t enjoy this you need a new hobby.
I’ve also spent about 45 hours of car time and thousands of dollars going to watch this team play. I guess if anyone has a right to bitch it’s me. I’m not feeling bitchy - I’m feeling damn good.
I don’t understand how being 10-1 equates to wasting an all-time defense. Is LSU wasting an all-time offense with their shitty defense?
It’s uncanny how similar you and euro are with this “Look at me, I am so rich” post, but even he is frustrated by this Fromm led offense, and he understands that its gonna play a big role in our national championship drought continuing.
Read the entire post as one thought. If we don’t win the conference, we will have wasted a championship caliber defense. However, we still have a chance of winning ugly (which wouldn’t be a waste of the defense).
If they want to win it all they have an issue every bit as big as our issue. Bigger perhaps. I give our offense a better chance of figuring it out than I do their defense.
I would say they have a stronger strength and a stronger weakness than we do. Hopefully we can upset them, which would make you look like a genius.
As the season has worn on I have come to see us as a flawed team and accepted that we probably can’t win it all this year - just not enough juice at WR or TE and only one elite back with serviceable guys behind him. Our best receivers are freshmen and a transfer and we have some clunkers in the rotation. We certainly are a different team with Cager healthy and hopefully he will be in two weeks. I thought we really needed to get back to Atlanta to maintain our momentum in recruiting and we’ve done that. I’ve come to terms with what this team is and I’m thrilled we have an elite coach (there’s no question on this anymore IMO) who will have us in the hunt most years. Lots to be happy and excited about. The relentless focus on the negative is not a good look but alas that’s sort of what our fan base has become.
Nothing about Richt and where we are today is comparable IMO. I was a Richt hater since 2010. Richt isn’t and never was in Kirby’s class.
These are similar issues that led to back to back heartbreaking losses to bama, which means Kirby hasn’t fixed them yet....
that’s not the argument the argument is wasting elite talent all over an offense that quite frankly is garbage. If Kirby hiring Coley turns out to be the lazy hire it appears and then ran off Fields in favor of Fromm, it’s a bad sign. At 10-1 we are by far the shakiest team in the top 5-7.
I’d consider whining about others having opinions about the team and telling them they must be miserable to be ‘bitching’ but that’s just me.
Had a great time as always this weekend in Athens. I watched the game at several different spots - Clarke’s, GA Theater, Cutter’s, and just about every UGA fan at each establishment that I talked to/were being vocal had clearly turned on Fromm. What’s broken him? I know Shakedown will point to the loss of receiving talent, but he’s not even a viable P5 QB right now.
This might be reaching but I wonder not having any competition on campus anymore to take his job has contributed. Or maybe Chaney or past WRs made him look better than he actually is. I have no clue though.
I think most of you are just dead ass wrong but can’t type and drive so carry on with your relentless negativity. I’ll never understand it thankfully.
He's always had the ability to lay an egg (LSU last year) but this year it's been going on for multiple games. Coley may get some of the blame but Coley coached QBs last year and Coley called a good game yesterday. Fromm was missing open receivers by 5 feet yesterday. There was no one to blame other than Fromm yesterday
he is either overthinking things or just not high football IQ (which is probably a biproduct of coaching) For as much time as he invests off the field into his football studies (supposedly), his presnap reads and adhoc decision-making is poor. I liked Swift chewing him out for it. doesnt see the field well, is too overly cautious as checkdown charlie. But mainly its diagnosing the situation presnap + and applying his off-field studies on how to diagnose the play. The staff gives him a fair amount of latitude, so its on him. Got no fucking clue where the overthrows are coming from. Lazy footwork perhaps. Lack of confidence? also, shave the neck beard.
i wonder which comes before the other did the explosive run game dissipate because of the loss of Galliard or is there a lack of a run game bc the defense doesnt have a pass game threat to acknowledge? still think there is some element of Coley’s basic bitch run game concepts not meshing with Pittman’s philosophy like we had with Chaney.
i feel like we have a total lack of execution by our interior OL. We mostly get zero push. So we are always in 3rd and 7 or more
Offensive line full of 5 stars and we can't run block. Offense full of 5 stars and we can't break 300 total yards
the lack of nuance from our fanbase is old and tiring its possible to enjoy the fact that we are gonna go 11-1 with the lone loss being a game where we had a 92% win expectancy. Hell yes its a good year, any year, when we are whipping the shit out of Florida and Tennessee and Auburn. Remember the 90s? UF barely made it to November before their season was reduced to figuring out how to backdoor their way into a top tier bowl game. If Auburn somehow goes 9-3 they are going to give their coach an extension, and they've only beaten us 3 out of the past 15 games. The Knoxville Cult is giddy about getting to 7 wins. I am pinching myself. But none of that is mutually exclusive with "This is a championship calibre 85 man roster, littered with stars and experience, and it sucks balls that its not going to win anything of consequence because Kirby opted for the safe play aimed towards recruiting with his Offensive Coordinator". Pruitt gave Kirby an amazing gift taking Chaney off our hands....and Kirby punted on moving our offense to the next level.
I might be convinced many here were actually enjoying it if they ever talked about it. But they don’t. All they do is bitch and moan like children. It’s tiresome. Otherwise you make some good points.
How much of the sum total of our offensive problems can be attributed simply to the lack of an explosive running game?
