Jake Scott has convinced me there is no reason to make the five hour drive to the ATL...Fox Bros alone isn't worth that much windshield time. Who wants two prime seats in the Benz to watch LSU roll? I'll make you a deal.
It will be like every other trip to Atlanta - I won’t make it up there. I tell myself I will but I won’t. Not going to have a ton of time this trip regardless.
I think (hope) the gravity of the game has our guys executing on a higher level than the past few weeks. Game may come down to Fromm's execution in the first quarter. If he comes out hot, anything can happen. If he starts 3-13 or whatever, it'll be 2003 again.
The offense is what it is. There is not going to be some magic switch. Poor playcalling, Inaccurate QB with poor decision-making, and WRs that cant get open. Absent a Joe Burrow injury, LSU is a better team than us. Sucks to piss away S&P+ #1 regular season Defense and #1 Special Teams.
We haven't pissed anything away - that's patently absurd. That defense and those ST's are why we are here. I wonder what LSU or Bama would look like if you took away their top six receiving options. And yet, Vegas thinks this is is a 4-6 point LSU advantage...which is not very much given how bad we supposedly are.
All bullshit aside, it's pretty awesome to have 3 straight 11-1 regular seasons and 3 straight appearances in the SEC Championship game. While the game had passed Richt by at the end of his tenure, I was still nervous that we wouldn't significantly improve from him and risked getting worse. Kirby has very clearly elevated our program and our expectations from a pretty solid foundation under Richt, and it's been really enjoyable to watch. Still having everything to play for in December will never get old.
I believe there is video of the incident available, and it was a lot like the curb stomping scene in American History X but much more graphic and hate-filled. It’s frankly a miracle that the innocent, defenseless Georgia Tech player survived such a brutal, unprovoked attack and I feel that if we collectively send our thoughts and prayers maybe the young victim may learn to walk again.
Depends on your perspective, I guess. As a Georgia fan, I think it would be a great hire for them. As a FSU fan, I’d want to drink bleach.
He can recruit. If they gave him the financial support to build a good staff, I could see Coley being a nice head coach. He's got all of the connections in that state. Recruiting South Florida would get harder for us.
Recruiting would be great but if his offense has taught us anything this year it's that recruiting isn't everything. He would need to hire an all-world staff.
Just find a young air raid OC/QB coach. Put your money in the OL and DL coach. I think you'd have a stew going tbqh. He'd recruit well enough on his own to fill in any recruiting gaps by the staff. I'm just spitballing here.
Yup. It’s just dumb to think Coley doesn’t bring a lot to the table. There is a reason so many programs have wanted to hire him. He’s an elite recruiter with strong connections in one of the most talent-laden areas in America. Maybe he’s not a great OC but he’s someone you want on your staff if you can figure it out. Some of our fans here have become as ignorant as the Dawgvent or Junkyard. It’s embarrassing.
What his offense has mostly taught us this year is that losing your top six pass catchers is difficult for any program to overcome. I don’t love Coley as OC but these attempts to make him out to be another Schotty are just dumb.
I wish we could find a way to keep Coley while adding another play caller or at the very least another voice in the offensive game planning.
My hunch is Coley might be a better HC than OC. It wouldn’t be a terrible hire by any stretch - especially for a program that has fallen as far as the Noles have. FSU isn’t the job it once was.
If you guys could please win this weekend, it would make things far more interesting than they’re shaping up to be. Signed, Bored CFB fan #notredawg
This has been my point the entire time...all of the reflexive shitting on our offense has been somewhat off base.
You guys think it needs to look shiny and pretty because of your Millennial entitlement. When you look under the hood, it’s better than you think. S&P+ isn’t wrong. It’s not elite, but it’s not shitty either. A lot of you have forgotten there is more than one way to be elite and win football games. Saturday you’ll be reminded (again).
Our QB completes like 45% of his passes and we are without our two best WR. One for the whole game and the other for the first half. We will struggle to score.
Thanks for your input and predictions of future events. I’ll take rigorous analysis over some dude’s opinion. Your prophecy seems to predict a blowout. S&P+ predicts a close game. We will see who’s right soon enough.
I respect your football knowledge which is why I’m disappointed that you’ve fallen right in line with a bunch of people who have no football knowledge.
Have you seen my score prediction? I think we lose a close game. We hold their offense in check, but our offense will settle for 3 too often for us to win. 24-19 is my prediction.
I mean, should I accept Connolly’s statement that our offense has quietly been more effective than conventional wisdom maintains or should I put my faith in the analysis of a guy who played tuba in HS? Tough decision.
When you look at what we have on offense, there's really no excuse. 3rd year starter at QB, Swift, #1 OT in next years NFL draft, Wilson probably a day two OT draft pick. Kindley was a massive disappointment. I realize we replaced a lot at WR, but that's not an excuse IMO. Why aren't Simmons and Landers able to be good contributors? Fromm hasn't been himself all year. The interior OL has been mediocre as fuck, to put it nicely. I mean, I just don't see how anyone could be satisfied with this years offensive performance. Quit looking at numbers on a piece of paper and watch the fucking games again.
Guess we shouldn’t trust our head coach when he says we settle for field goals too often in the red zone because analytics show our offense is good.
Our offense isnt trash, but its nowhere close to what it should be. Being 29th in Connolly's S&P doesnt change that. We should be a top 10 with the talent we have
