I hope Jermaine Jones and Jefferson Farfan had time to reminisce about their time together in the Champions League.
Who are our best U-23? I've never been impressed with Mix during his USMNT time. Zardes plays well with the Galaxy and all their stars.
The best U23s from Toulalan were probably Julian Green and Jordan Morris who both already have call ups to the senior team. Then probably guys from the U20 squad that were called into the U23s for Olympic qualifying
I'd also recommend checking out the youth thread as there is more discussion of those guys there http://www.the-mainboard.com/index.php?threads/us-soccer-youth-prospects-thread.53394/
I guess the guys I mentioned are a couple/few years beyond the U23 squad, but I heard the announcer mention Mix having a good run with that squad.
They mentioned Mix and the others from the previous U23 group, saying that no one had really made the next step in development.
Here's what is pissing me off about Klinnsman. I get that he wants to try new guys and figure out who can help him in the future. But if you are really building towards this Mexico game, and want to get your team ready for it, stop dicking around with your lineup. I get that three guys who are going to be playing in he game weren't available. But anyone with two eyes can tell you Cameron is one of our best eleven players. You can pick the position he could start at between CB, RB and CDM. It would be nice to give him some starts playing with the guys he will have to communicate with in that role. I could make this argument about Besler too. But I guess that's more controversial. I know you want to build toward the future. But the Mexico game is in a month, and he has plenty of time to fuck around after that.
I'd also like to make the same argument above with Aron. If you are going to field two strikers itd be nice for him to work with Jozy a little more.
I'm so tired of the way our guys take their sweet time moving to support one another. Way too frequently they play with a startling lack of urgency. It's infuriating watching us fail to keep our linkage as we move upfield, while the opponent takes all the space we fail to occupy.
@GrantWahl: Klinsmann: Brooks & Yedlin will be with senior MNT for MEX in Oct, not at Olympic qualifying. Hasn't decided about Morris yet.
@DougMacESPN: Klinsmann says Geoff Cameron is needed at right back, suggests he'll stay there and not move to the middle for the time being. #usmnt
