Salt is enormous. Seems like an incredible athlete. Hard to believe we have 4 full years of him to improve. Him and Diakite in the middle? Good lord.
I might accept another year of London if it meant beating Virginia T in Beamers let game. [shame]hidesin[/shame]
Us and Tech hiring a coach in the same year will be bigger than the past 10 years of losses combined. I would be SHOCKED if RichRod isn't the guy.
Guys I can't wait for basketball season but our fans have gotten so goddamn annoying about basketball. The entire universe doesn't hate us you dorks. There is no ESPN conspiracy against us. We are the SIXTH ranked preseason team and all anyone can talk about is how no one gives us any respect. It's absurd. Also, thoughts on Pep Hamilton?
Every poll that comes out has us too low and Malcolm and Anthony aren't getting enough respect. I get that Duke and Carolina get a ton of national attemtion, but it's like they refuse to acknowledge that one can have a great basketball team without getting that type of press. How long do we have to be good before the little brother syndrome goes away? Just enjoy being in the top 10 preseason in both polls for the first time in 30 years.
I think Pep was a scapegoat in Indy. That OLine is rough. Don't like that Stanford was his only NCAA experience (outside of Howard), but that's basically what everyone wants our program to become so who knows.
fucking whiny assed bitches. ffs we aren't even sure how good we will be. not like we're clear number 1 in conference let alone nationally.
We will be good but I expect it will take some time to gel and find an identity. Couple that with a tough OOC schedule this year and people are going to be disappointed if they expect us to be world beaters again this year. I'm all about the tournament for us this year. Don't care if we're a 7 seed if we can get to the Final Four. Also, I'm going to eat these words one day but I think Richt would be a great hire.
is this where I make little brother jokes and criticize your sports knowledge because your team isn't as good as my team? sorry, I'm new to this complete and total domination of my instate rival thing.
think it would be a good hire. he can sell a program, he has been solid to very solid at uga, and he could attract assistants. I feel like he'd walk out laughing midway through an interview with Oliver and Co.
Mizzell has been really good like the last 3 games, seems like the switch finally flipped. OZ really benefits from having him in the game at the same time. We really do have some nice pieces on O, its a shame we don't have the right guys coaching them up.
we even had success on a few screen plays. the pick penalty was garbage. we can't tackle for shit. our defensive backs were atrocious. they were eaten alive today. the play where tre and canady bounced off each other especially
Our dbs were all by themselves over the middle. It made no sense after the first 10 throws. Why weren't we dropping lbs? Blitz. Blitz. Blitz. Not sure where the safeties were either.
Somebody on 247 brought up Mike Sanford Jr. He's only 33 and it would be a huge risk. But I like what I see. Spoiler Step 1: FBS assistant Step 2: Head coach at a Group of Five (or FCS) school Step 3: Head coach at a Power Five school But hidden in your post is this candidate: Mike Sanford Jr., Notre Dame offensive coordinator The son of a longtime college football coach, the 33-year old Sanford is a rising star who checks every box for an AD. He's done great work this year with DeShone Kizer. I get the sense Sanford is on the fast track (like Tom Herman was). If we want him, we'd need to get to him early. He might be the fit we're looking for: 1. We've taken an assistant from ND before with great success (O'Connor) 2. We've hired a young son of a good coach (Bennett) 3. He has OC experience at successful programs with good offensive schemes, averaging over 37 points/game at both schools (Boise State and Notre Dame) 4. He has worked with schools that emphasize academics (Stanford and Notre Dame) 5. He was head of recruiting at Stanford, so he is looking for the right type of player. Just because the candidate is young doesn't mean he's Mike London - and there are many great qualities about Mike London that I still really admire and appreciate (though lack of wins is not one of them)! Is our fan base ready to give this young guy some love? 2015 — Notre Dame, Offensive Coordinator, Quarterbacks 2014 — Boise State, Offensive Coordinator, Quarterbacks 2011-13 — Stanford, Recruiting Coordinator (’12-13), QBs/WRs (’13) RBs (’11-12) 2010 — Western Kentucky, Passing Game Coordinator, Quarterbacks 2009 — Yale, Recruiting Coordinator, Tight Ends and Fullbacks 2007-08 — Stanford, Offensive Assistant, Quarterbacks 2005-06 — UNLV, Offensive Graduate Assistant
would rather have someone with demonstrated success in head coaching...but fuck it I just want someone who's proven they're intelligent
I'd really like to win this one, but I've prepped myself for 2 OOC losses so if this is one of them then so be it.
Frustrating that we have two players in the Darion/Akil mold on our roster, neither of which is likely to play this season (not that I'm in favor of burning Diakite's shirt).
Richt, Miles, Mack, Spurrier, Mickey Andrews, and hell let's see if Beamer wants to coach special team.s
holy shit a DB looked back for the ball and made a pick. also when did we burn David Eldridge's shirt?
