This kinda shit happens when you have years and years between books and its takes fucking decades to write a series. People have nothing better to do but sit around and analyze EVERYTHING.
Those theories are almost all based on George's other work, after 5/7 there'd be so many more clues if it was going to end how he theorized.
The whole basis for this is that they found a shoe that fell hundreds of feet? His analysis of the questioning makes sense, I'm just not sure about how he got there.

https://www.reddit.com/r/asoiaf/comments/3ltxa4/spoilers_all_bring_me_the_shiny_crinkliest_theory/ Gonna skim that during class tonight. One thing I like that I found- Spoiler Benjen joined the Watch after Robert's Rebellion because he helped Lyanna escape with Rhaegar, and did so out of guilt for the war he accidentally helped create. Like Ned, he knows more than he lets on.
From that link Spoiler fAegon was a 'construct' of the Iron Bank in the eventuality that Robert Baratheon was to default on his huge debt. The Iron Bank abused the fact that the little Aegon babe was unrecognisable after its head got smashed so they quickly got a Lyseni Valyrian-looking child and groomed it making him believe that he was Aegon VI. It was all a contingency plan, either Magister Illyrio/Varys stolen the fAegon from the Iron Bank or the Iron Bank abandoned him to support Stannis. Or more likely, Varys is an agent of the Iron Bank whilst Magister Illyrio is unaware, the Iron Bank hides its intentions by 'seemingly' supporting Stannis (yet no gold has came to Stannis as of yet.... and Stannis is in a hopeless situation which gold won't help in, in time) The Iron Bank will have its due. Even if Stannis fails the Iron Bank WILL find an alternative, and WILL get its DUE by any means necessary.... which leads me to this - When princes defaulted on their debts to lesser banks, ruined bankers sold their wives and children into slavery and opened their own veins. When princes failed to repay the Iron Bank, new princes sprang up from nowhere and took their thrones. . When princes failed to repay the Iron Bank, new princes sprang up from nowhere and took their thrones. New princes? There is one new prince spranging up from nowhere in Westeros - Young Griff aka fAegon! And he is trying to take the throne of the ones who failed to repay the Iron Bank, everything we know about the Iron Bank fits this theory that fAegon seems to be a tool somehow recruited/created/brainwashed by them. fAegon the perfect prince who will very likely be perfectly aware of the Iron Bank and the need to repay them.....
First one from link Spoiler Tywin made a mass offering to the Drowned God when he destroyed Castamere, and this is why Tyrion survived both the Blackwater and falling off the boat into the Rhoyne.
Magic Structure Spoiler I'm not much of a tinfoil merchant, but here's the shiniest stuff I can rustle up. Shadowbinders absorb power from preventing events that should have happened, and therefore by screwing up all the prophecies associated with them. The best way to do this is to kill a king or a king's heir, because kings have the greatest power to shape future events. Killing a peasant wouldn't have quite the same impact. When Mirri Maz Duur was tied to a funeral pyre, she was brimming over with power from having prevented Drogo and Son's career of rape and pillage across the Dothraki Sea. When she died, that power was released. It brought life to three fossilised dragon eggs, and preserved Daenerys from death. At the end of ADWD, Melisandre is supercharged with power from preventing Renly from taking the throne, and she is probably about to soak up more power by ending Shireen's brief life. If she causes Stannis's death too, then she will have pretty much single-handedly ended what remained of the legitimate Baratheon dynasty. That's a huge amount of wasted potential, and therefore a huge amount of power.
Another regarding wall/Others Spoiler The weirwoods are the entwives from LOTR. Less jokingly, the giants the Horn of Winter will awaken are the weirwoods - they're going to rise up and fight like the ents (or huorns). The way the hobbits were trapped and put to sleep by Old Man Willow is pretty similar to how Bran and Bloodraven are entangled in the weirwood. The word "ent" was derived from an old english word for giant ("eoten"). The wall is made from magically frozen saltwater. When the Horn of Joramun breaks the spells, the wall will collapse. Salt melts ice, which is why the Others are afraid of the sea and don't use boats to get around the wall (similar to the Dothraki). The wall is a doomsday device to wash them away in a flood.
Another pretty cool one (can do this all day in case you cant tell) regarding wall/Others. Most likely not going to happen, but cool to read. https://www.reddit.com/r/asoiaf/comments/21qzdf/spoilers_all_on_azor_ahai_lightbringer_jon_snow/
Another solid read/theory concerning Ice vs Fire, Light vs Dark, Drowned God vs Storm God, Euron vs Victarion, Dany vs Jon, etc http://asoiaf.westeros.org/index.ph...-assessmenttheory-3-storm-god-vs-drowned-god/
Pretty solid point here http://www.reddit.com/r/asoiaf/comments/3m26yn/spoilers_all_when_the_red_star_bleeds_may_not_be/
Just brainstorming here but... If the Great Northern Conspiracy is true and they turn Jon into Jon Stark, and make him the King of the North/King of Winter and Lord of Winterfell, wouldn't that kind of screw with Littlefinger's plans? I know they say if they describe a plan in the books, it almost always won't work out that way, but at least if the original plan is to marry Sansa to Harry and essentially gain control over the Vale & the North with said marriage, then Jon becoming Jon Stark (and the potential return of Rickon) would definitely throw a huge monkey wrench in those plans. Not sure if this has been discussed before or not but it just came to mind.
The Radio Westeros podcast suggested that the reason Theon acts so weird with the Hooded Man is because he recognized him. They put a theory forward that it's Harwin. Theon thinks Harwin is dead, so "The Ghost in Winterfell" would be referring to Harwin, not Theon. He's with the BWB, so the theory is that he's in Winterfell killing folks to cause unrest or just because LSH instructed him to go to Winterfell to murk Red Wedding participants. They had some more evidence that made it more believable, but I can't remember all of it.
ummmmmmmmm ahhhhhhhhhh it's really out there. I think that George has to write faster and give Preston less time to dream up this shit.
That's what I figured. I will still watch anything and everything that has to do with ASOIAF for the hell of it
I wouldn't say it is way out there as much as he postulates a couple of hypothesis' (which seem to be reasonable) and then goes through a very, very detailed and fairly complex analysis of Targaryen history to support his hypothesis.
I didn't pay much attention to that robin series b/c I felt that just was way too out there; but I really enjoyed the first part of this.
Maybe the third dragon rider/head of the dragon has been in front of our faces the entire time. This is a really good read. https://ladygwynhyfvar.wordpress.com/2015/10/12/brown-ben-plumm-the-boldest-sellsword-of-them-all/
So I came across this last week and honestly it makes a lot of sense. He attempts to explain everything using mythical astronomy, and knowing Martin's Sci-fi/Astronomy background, it fits in with the premise of his other books. https://lucifermeanslightbringer.wordpress.com/
Preston Jacobs also did this recently breaking down the similarities in all of Martin's books, and how potentially Planetos could exist in the same universe he created for his other books.
For those of you too lazy, I'll share a little what it says. The Long Night was caused by an asteroid that collided with the 2nd moon. The results of the impact caused a meteor shower affect which caused the nuclear winter/long night. The theory is that half the comet survived and that is the red comet we see at dusk and dawn in the story. Most comets are blue or lighter colored, red is very odd in real astronomical terms. He suggests that 2nd comet could be returning to bring in the new winter age. He goes on to write 6 different essays on the theory, y'all definitely need to read them. I'm a believer.
