have you guys given up on the Boy yet? My brother wants him to be sold before his value diminishes drastically.
That and he's shown little finishing ability but wants to play as a #10. His little dog syndrome has been / will be his downfall.
So pretty much the last two seasons, by this point in the window knew about Wellbeck and Ozil correct?
Yeah, they both were. I was just saying, we at least had some reports by this point in the window, at a minimum. I see nothing right now.
Yeah, so that's what I am trying to figure out. What is the hour where we can stop looking? 9PM Eastern?
Wenger said something like hopefully we have a surprise for you after we beat Spurs 1-0. Think it was mostly done the days before but since it was our first huge purchase, were all kinda skeptical. Welbeck was complete deadline day.
A lot of people weren't even sure if Wellbeck was a purchase or a loan deal for most of the deadline day last year.
I don't think there's any specific time to stop looking before it closes. Every window is different and I've got a really shitty feeling about this one.
Doesn't even matter if we sign someone tomorrow, they are gonna suck. Congrats Wenger, you failed in the transfer market again.
Does anyone still want Wenger as our manager? im not here to tell people they're wrong, i'm just curious.
Valid concern, Kroenke isn't a good owner and he might make next manger live up to Wengernomics. Why Arsene won't be going anywhere soon.
I don't care either way. I'd like him to be more aggressive but relying on current players is a lot better than flooding the team with shit. Certainly better than having a Rodgers or LVG at the helm.
I get the concern about getting a new manager and it might get worse before it gets better. seems rather clear to me that he'll never win the league again, so why keep him. but thats just imo. United is a different story to me Ferguson left a team with a lot of old players on their way out.
Yes, I do. Not forever, maybe just to the end of this current contract. But I have no confidence that he will be replaced by someone who will do as well or better.
Yeah I was just thinking in terms of logistics and what not. Obviously the deals are complex to begin with and we seem to add layers of complexity that go above and beyond. Well at least the window started off fun.
Piers Morgan @piersmorgan In Arsene we trust, right? It would be inconceivable that we don't sign anyone before 6pm, right? I mean, INCONCEIVABLE? #afc Piers Morgan @piersmorgan 3rd/4th in PL for 10yrs. Last 16 exit CL last 5yrs. Already struggling this season. £200m in the bank. SPEND THE DAMN MONEY, WENGER. #afc
Good news is part of our transfer fund will now be taxed and pay for lavish council houses for Muslim terrorists around London.
Disappointing but not unexpected; I'm surprised nothing happened with Gotze or Reus (not just with afc). Some of these transfer fees are NBA laughable.
huge transfer fees aren't going away. that's the price in the market now when everyone is getting a piece of the tv money.
Figure we were in the market for attacking players. Here's a list in Euros. You want to add Morgan to the list as a back up CDM, he cost 35. Like zeb said, it's the market and it's only going to get worse next summer. Bit reactionary, but I think the days of getting Ozil and Sanchez for those prices are over. They kind of fell into our lap because of the market IMO. De Bruyne 75 Sterling 68 Martial 49 Beteke 46 Firmino 41 Son 30 Memphis 27.5 Wijnaldum 20 Mitrovic 18.5 Thauvin 18.4 Rondon 17 Shaqiri 17
