Klingenberg. She is getting a good bit of press in Pittsburgh (her hometown), and their first USWNT post WWC friendly is being played here. get this. she (26 y/o, 2007 grad), Neil Walker (Pirates 2B, 2004 grad), and Brandon Saad (was on the Blackhawks, now the Blue Jackets) all went to the same HS. Its not even that large, maybe 1400-1500 students.
Yea I knew her name but didnt want to botch the spelling. Pretty awesome high school fact although Walker kinda in the shadow on that one (other than playing for the local team)
My boss and his wife just booked flights for Vancouver last night to see the Final. Anyone have any advice on attempting to get tickets? Figure if I can help out I can convince them to get me something badass, like a raise or a scarf or whatever.
StubHub? It's a relatively small venue compared to the States and now everyone from Seattle and Portland is going to try to make the trip. Also the Outlaws presold Final tickets before the WC even started...so i wouldnt expect another allotment from them. MAYBE they get their hands on a few more but they will move quick. Also make sure they try to RSVP for the Outlaws #FanHQ party ASAP.
Wait until Sunday... @Ourand_SBJ: Source: Huge ratings for USA-Germany. The overnight is going to come in at a whopping 6.1, I'm told.
Hearing a lot today that - no question, no doubt JJ deserved a red card. Does the fact that the ball wasnt possessed at all / Hope Solo was close have anything to do with it? I get it was a clear scoring opportunity but she had jsut stepped by JJ (contact started when she was behind her and fighting through her 'box out') and the ball was still taking its high bounce. Its not like she pulled her down with possession on breakaway. I dunno...but media is pretty consensus today
Call could have easily been a red, but I think yellow & PK was fair. 50/50 ball & no posession. Solo was likely just going to wreck her to stop the play regardless
Dislike PK & Red Rule unless you just pull a Suarez on the line. You are giving up a 75% a chance at goal plus losing a man for a foul that more often than not would not be chance with much greater than 75% of scoring. A Suarez play on a ball going in the net and double jeopardy should result. It should be a Red though if outside the box.
Haven't gotten anything from AO but checked their page. Says they're sold out. They set up a ticket exchange to sell for face but the link is no good. Not likely to find anything on there I'd think If I hear anything I'll let you know ASAP. Should at least get an email today with updated password for July
I started to read this as "Japan for the sake..." (but pronounced is like the rice wine, since it's spelled the same way) I want it to be Japan, so tweeters can continue the WWII references in a VE day/VJ day sort of way. 'Cause those were humorous.
Stewart Mandel @slmandel Looking for a little perspective on US-Germany 6.1 rating? Higher than any non-playoff bowl & all but five reg. season CFB games last year.
John Ourand @Ourand_SBJ 2m2 minutes ago The USA-Germany Women's World Cup match logged 8.4 million viewers, peaking at 12.1 million from 8:30pm-8:45pm.
Fucking somehow forgot what time the match started. Just turned it on, looks to be a fun final 10 minutes
Do all tall British people look like Peter crouch? That forward on the England team looks like crouches daughter.
