See Whit Merrifield is doing well for you guys. Is it sustainable or a function of big league pitchers not having the book on him yet?
He will inevitably come back to Earth but I don't think he will completely fall off a cliff. The versatility and speed is nice to have. No reason why he can't be an everyday regular for us.
Not sure if you guys know this but some Whit trivia from a Gamecock fan. He is the person that delivered the walk off hit in the 12th inning to bring us our first national championship in any men's sport. So he is kinda liked around here
I've been most impressed with his work rate. Always sprints down the line, you see him sprinting over to back up a throw from catcher to first when he's at second, just 100% effort 100% of the time. He hasn't walked much but I don't see him chasing much either. Pretty soon he'll quit getting strikes so hopefully he can keep his eye and start drawing walks. If that happens he should have a pretty good year.
Pretty good stuff from someone so "talentless" But for reals his strike rate has been insane. Never thought we'd see that from him.
That has always been his problem, no out pitch. Batters would just foul off pitch after pitch till they got a juicy one. His slurve is working so much better this year.
Kluber wiped Salvys smile off with a pitch near the head, so Salvy put it back on with a 3 run bomb. Tight.
Home: 22-7, +29 differential Away: 13-23, -43 differential Seeing a team that is currently in 1st place in the division with a negative differential is extremely rare.
According to Alex Cora of ESPN, the Royals are eyeing Jose Reyes to play second base. How does everyone feel about this?
When I heard of him and Omar being released one right after the other I thought we should of just traded them and given each other our headaches.
Totally content with our platoon system in the infield at the moment. Would go for another bat that would push Kendrys at DH
And Reyes' skills aren't really what this team needs. We have plenty of speed and slap hitters. Give me whit at 2nd once Gordo gets back. Cuthbert at 3rd and Colon to fill in around the infield wherever he's needed.
you can't spell "i'm worried about how the team would respond if they acquire reyes to play second base" without whit merrifield
A little late but just found it. Sport science on Cain's home run rob. http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=espn:16204011
Sorry guys, I'll stop going to The K this year. Went last night, and went to the 13-2 Nationals game. You're welcome.
