Sounds live Odor and Ventura are actually friends so we probably won't see a broken jawed Ventura soon.
Jon MorosiVerified account@jonmorosi Sources who have spoken with #Nats believe they would trade Lucas Giolito to #Yankees for Andrew Miller, straight up. Let's do Wade for Giolito.
I'd prefer a haul of Dodgers prospects for Wade + Kennedy + Kennedy's salary, personally. But by all means, let's get the Dodgers and Nats into a bidding war at least.
a trade including Kennedy will bring in fewer prospects since we're asking someone to take on an obscene amount of money
An article yesterday said Kennedys negative value would roughly be equal to RMJ. So if we traded Kennedy and RMJ to a team all we would get back would be a bucket of balls.
Passan's report said the Dodgers were considering it, if I recall, giving us multiple guys for Davis + Kennedy. We'd probably have to foot a portion of Kennedy's salary still.
Anyone else think it's odd that Cain missed meeting the president just for a day of rehab? Methinks he's going to regret that.
Guys I checked on this and the only two staffs with more home runs allowed than us are the Twins and the Reds. Yay!
Hoch's injury potentially fucks us at the deadline. He was trade bait himself, and his injury possibly makes DM and Yost less receptive to trading Davis and further weakening the pen (as if it really matters this year).
Yeah, what sucks is we could of traded him and he would of for sure signed back with us for next year as long as we wanted him.
Loved the Eibner for Burns trade. Gotta think Eddy and/or Morales will be dealt for sure today. Wade probably gonna need TJ. We can't catch a break this year.
No one's gonna feel sorry for us while we trot out with that glorious patch on our sleeves all year though.
It's pretty clear to me that the Hoch + Davis injuries really did fuck us. I think Moore—as infuriating as his press conferences can be ("These are people to us, not assets!")—has plenty of track record at this point for us to easily see his responses ("We're focused on turning this thing around and winning in 2016, yadda yadda") as the lip service they were. The best card we had on the table had a corner ripped off it just before the hands were shown, so we lost our ante. And our mediocre cards, Morales and Volquez, weren't getting any money thrown into the pot. 2016 is a total write-off, and 2017 just took a hit, but oh well.
I was at that game when Zack struck out 15 vs the tribe. I remember in the 7th or 8th inning he got a GIDP and the crowd sighed because we wanted more Ks.
I used to keep track of the farm much closer in the past so I hadn't really heard of Strahm until this year when I kept seeing some nice numbers out of him. All he's done at each level is dominate. Between Low-A and High-A last year he had a .180 batting average against. That's unheard of for a starter. I wouldn't mind if they plugged him into the rotation for the remainder of the year to see what he's got. He's got to be better than Gee or CY.
