Hmmm, figured they'd call up Colon and let Cuthbert get more reps at 2B. Also Vern was going over the pitching staff and he sees it the same way I am. Young is back to the pen, spot start/injury back up for later in the year. Minor will be with the team within a month and will take Duffys spot unless Gee completely tanks. After medlen gets a few "rehab" starts in the minors (find your command or else starts) it'll be him or Gee for the last rotation spot. So Minor and Gee/Medlen in rotation. Gee/Medlen, Young, Duffy to pen. Alexander, Moylen, Flynn to Omaha.
I don't think Alexander gets sent down and it wouldn't shock me to see Moylen stay, either. Young may be done. They said at first that he wouldn't even need the full 15 days to recover and now they're saying he'll need another week at least, so they may be just seeing what other alternatives they have
I haven't looked up absolute numbers but it sure seems like every inning one of our starters give up a walk runs follow at least 70% of the time
Walks are up, Ks are down, people are actually making solid contact off of him...I'm worried about DavisBot.
Greg Holland: 2013 - 13.8 k/9 2.4 bb/9 2014 - 13.0 k/9 2.9 bb/9 2015 - 9.9 k/9 5.2 bb/9 Wade Davis: 2014 - 13.6 k/9 2.9 bb/9 2015 - 10.4 k/9 2.7 bb/9 2016 - 8.6. k/9 4.0 bb/9
I'm not worried about Wade at all. He's just nibbling too much and getting a little too cute. Last night, with a 3 run lead, he should have just been pounding fastballs right away but he kept getting cute with the curve and cutter when he couldn't really command them. Velocity is the same. The stuff is the same. The difference between he and Holland was that Holland lost like ~5-6 mph on his fastball and he no longer had that sharp 86-89 splider. He went to that slower curve in the low 80's. We now know that he was injured the whole time so they are in no way related to each other. Cliffs: Wader, Check Please
Yost was on the radio a little while ago and said Eiland went out and told him he was cutting short (or something like that mechanical) and not following through. Just a mechanical adjustment that he made instantly with immediate results.
he was pulling his shoulder because it looked like he was trying to "aim" the pitch, instead of just throwing. once he cut that shit out he was throwing 97mph fastballs like it was nothing and making those hitters look gay and silly
Moose getting his knee examined by team doctors tomorrow when they come back to KC. Has had issues doing any lateral movements. Man, we might lose Gordo and Moose for an extended period of time from one play.
I can see it's going to be very difficult to get sweeps this year, since the pigeonhole principle tells me that if we need 3+ starters for a series and have only 2 good ones, we're going to send out at least one not-good starter every series. #math
Yep, just saw that on MLB Network. The original rotoworld blurb just said bruised knee. Looks like his season is over. Really, really sucks.
Ned says they'll get a second opinion but they hope he can be ready for spring training. No gurantees. Time to shine cheslor.
In the post game Ned said something about Eibner screwed up the sign and wasn't supposed to sac bunt in the 8th. When he got back to the dug out he was frustrated and Ned told him "it's ok son, No one on this team knows the damn signs anyways"
So happy about Eibner finally making it to the show. Will forever love him for this moon shot he hit in the CWS, a game we later won in extras:
