Pretty much a forgone conclusion that they win an NCAA title at this point. I don't know who can stop them. Maybe OSU winning 4 individual titles?
Osu winning 125 165 Hwt. 41 would be huge. But penn state is going to have everyone other than hwt all American it seems
Also what is the main event of the NCAA this year. Last year Logan year before Taylor. Who has it this year?
I was think Jordan Deringer as well. But I wouldn't mind watching Nolf and Imar again I know big ten is likely too
Also update. I didn't need to piss wife off. I just drove her shopping kids fell asleep. I internetted while she shoped. Now home drinking and watching wrestling.
What's the story on Snyder? He was redshirting for the Olympics and then decided mid season to burn it and compete?
He is a world champion. He beat Abdusalam Gadisov, considered a top 5 P4P wrestler in the world, for the gold medal. He wrestles Tervel Dlagnev, the best heavyweight wrestler in the entire country, on a daily basis. I do not think he is scared of Gwiz.
Fun fact: Kyle Snyder has never felt fear. So if he is afraid of GWiz he is more confused than anything about what is happening to him
kicked him right in the side of a stretched out knee. immediate medical forfeit. that's not something that's going to heal up by next weekend, IMO.
That's actually a real life disability that I learned about on the Invisibilia podcast. They interviewed a lady who hasn't, but they made it sound like she was a very rare case.
Watch both benches before and after the Nolf fall... It looks like a repeat and they knew it was going to happen. Illinois "shit I was hoping he wouldn't get pinned" PSU "did what we thought he would"
125: NaTo vs Megaludis: OSU 3 PSU 0 133: JDJ vs Conaway: OSU 3 PSU 3 141: Micah vs Gulibon: OSU 6 PSU 3 149: Stieber vs Retherford: OSU 6 PSU 7 157: Ryan vs Nolf: OSU 6 PSU 11 165: Bo Jordan vs Rasheed: OSU 10 PSU 11 174: MyMar vs Nickal: OSU 10 PSU 14 184: Courts vs McCutcheon: OSU 13 PSU 14 197: Mark Martin vs McIntosh: OSU 13 PSU 19 285: Snyder vs ?: OSU 18 PSU 19 Mark Martin and Jake Ryan are nursing injuries at 157 and 197, don't know if they'll be available. If Jake Ryan is unavailable I'd add 1-2 points to PSU's total. Maybe even if he is healthy, tbh. Nico can easily beat Nato, that's a toss up. JDJ can beat Conaway too though (yet that isnt as close as 125) so I think those cancel out. I don't see Gulibon beating Micah. Retherford can probably tech Hunter at this point, but don't think he'll let it happen. Nolf will do what he wants to whomever he wrestles. MD might be a bit conservative. I don't see Bo teching Rasheed. Regular decision might be more likely. Myles kept it close with Bo in their first match, and he just beat Nate Jackson who beat Nickal. I could see it being close again. Myles has a chance if he can dictate the pace and keep the score low. I think OSU needs to win this one to win the dual. I feel like Courts is something like 3-1 vs McCutcheon but I could be making that up. McCutcheon is also outperforming expectations while Courts is underperforming, so this could be another PSU win here. Purely going with my fuzzy memory of their history here. McIntosh will TF Mark Martin. Josh Fox might have a better chance of damage control, TBH. Snyder will win by tech fall I think, but he's gonna need a shit load of TDs to do it.
That's fair let me know if you guys want to go - I have two I'm looking to get rid of so I can move down low and yell at Ryan.
OSU-Purdue dual going on now. Refs just absolutely botched a call in JDJ-Welch match. Luke Welch comes up with the upset due to the bad call.
Morrissey with the upset over MyMar. Very unfortunate after his big win on Friday. Morrissey kept on rolling and reversing Myles from his back. They both gassed early in the match but Myles was particularly fatigued.
Tanner Lynde is beating Kenny Courts 6-4 early in the 3rd. Courts gets an escape and two take downs in the 3rd to get a 9-8 win, barely mitigating Lynde's :58 of riding time. Good match.
OSU and Purdue knotted up at 17 and once again a dual falls on the shoulders of Tavanello. Tav wins 3-1 and the Buckeyes win 20-17.
Today is the day. PSU vs OSU. The closer we get the less likely I think OSU is to win this one. Especially with Martin and Ryan still questionable tonight, and Courts/JDJ struggling. OSU needs to win 125, 141, 165, 184, HWT plus one more. Getting nervous about 125 watching some of Nico's work this year. Also nervous about Stieber's arms. I'd just sit him and take the -6.
VT vs Pitt tonight... 141 will be the match of the evening. Watch Live Friday’s match will be streamed live on ESPN3 and can be viewed here.
