I’ve only seen Tyler once and he was opening, but is he still kind of awkward on stage? I think being at the Ryman was his first time he probably felt he “made it” and was nervous, but it was funny how quiet and uncomfortable he looked when he wasn’t playing. I’m seeing him next month and I’m extremely excited
Was still a little awkward last night, though it was less uncomfortable and more a little quiet and his dry humor/wit didn’t quite translate to the crowd like I imagine he hoped.
I know this is where we hate on country music but in my opinion the female country singers right now are top notch. Kacey musgraves is the best
Stapleton kicks ass, he got pushed to bigger venues too early, but the dude is a bad ass Same reason he was behind the scenes for as long as he was, the dumbasses that ruined country music are the people calling these shots
I saw Childers at Basement East a couple of years ago and he wasn’t a great live performer at that time. By far my favorite musician going (with Isbell) but the show was boring. I’m sure he’s improved since and can’t wait to see him at Forecastle and All the Best.
Haven’t listened to all of from From A Room but Either Way is a top notch song. The depth isn’t really there like Traveler though.
I’ve come to the conclusion that Tyler Childers is the most relatable songwriter I’ve ever come across. It seems like I’ve got a memory that plays with every song
He's so great,, played at our fraternity house in 2002. Added House and 90 acres to a playlist on the plane last night. And I'm 100% onboard with the Childers love and Stapleton great/meh/ok vibe.
spotify removed a lot of his songs a few months back. my playlists are incomplete now. *edit - well fuck me they are back now. they were taken away and have been returned!
Well the sign at the church says I'll reap what I'm sowin' But I ain't lost sleep, it'll come in due time If the Lord wants to take me I'm here for the taking 'Cause hell's probably better than tryin' to get by Felt that before.
Chris Knight, Ryan Bingham, Stoney Larue, and Reckless Kelly got me into red dirt/atl-country ~10 years ago.
Same. Started listening to that stuff when I started posting here. Spoiler Fuck, been posting on the same message board for a decade.
You had my hopes up for nothing. Most of his stuff is still missing for me. Noticed it a few months back, as well. It's weird because there are a few songs available for each album, but most are still greyed.
Can’t remember if I shared this before, but I made a playlist for most of the music that’s talked about here. Enjoy some solid country gold this weekend, friends.
they were visible again and i made the edit to my post. i left work and spent five minutes in the parking lot failing to get it to play :/
I assume (or hope, moreso) that it'll be similar to the deal Sturgill signed at Atlantic (he's now at Elektra), which gave him creative control over everything.
Charlie Crockett has been on heavy play lately. guess it's more blues, but i think others would like.
