It's better but still needs some tweaking to look a little more smooth. It's better than the chokehold and reverse chokeslam.
I might be completely wrong, but I don't think there is any way that was planned like that. First it was awkward Second WWE is very anti blood and has no blading, so you think they'd ok Brock elbowing and forearm someone's head until it bleeds? Third, with the concussion stuff, see above
KO is winning the title. Rollins is too obvious Cass is there to be pinned and as a trial balloon for the future, to see how he looks in that kind of an environment Reigns is obviously what the pessimist thinks will happen, but WWE would have to be completely tone deaf to go from Finn Balor winning it to Roman Reigns winning the--
Especially since Raws next PPV has a "championship" theme. Ratings I suppose. Football is inching closer.
It's gotta be Owens or Rollins carrying it. Roman is too obvious and too close to him being suspended. Cass isn't ready to be a champion yet.
I didn't watch SS live, managed to avoid most if all spoilers. Here was my thoughts when I watched yesterday. I'll catch up on the thread over the next couple days. Spoiler Started watching after the show had ended, avoided spoilers, will catch up on the thread after this, so here’s my SS live thoughts: From the Pre-show: Not much to note other than - I love the JeriKO interview with Phillip Phillips. Like the video-board ring posts. Really like the set. I think best of 7 between Cesaro and Sheamus will be a highlight of Raw the next month or two. And I think Sheamus winning the first one was the absolute right call. Makes him look strong, gives the opportunity to make it go a little longer. Think it goes 1-2-2-2 in favor of Cesaro. Why not showcase them for the full 7? Or you could end it at 6. EIther way, its a unique set of matches for WWE knowing what the end game is. So far, it seems like Raw broadcast will call Raw matches and the Smackdown booth will call SD matches? I like it, personally, especially since there will be brand specific PPVs. Keep the brand split complete aside from a few matches. Also, really hope it becomes a thing where Smackdown guys send people through the Raw announce table and vice versa. The Main Show: I didn’t love their debut (it was weak, lets be honest, especially since The Club came in with a beatdown and serious work), but I have grown to love them as a non-NXT watcher, and it was great to see them kick the show off in New York. Enzo killed it, of course, and Cass singing was awesome. KO doing the Enzo dance on the apron was great. Disappointing that they are doing the Enzo beat down into a Cass hot-tag, because he’s had a match or two since the split where he wrestled very well. Holy shit JeriKO gets the win on a great KOdebreaker. Surprised, but not. I like it. Jericho and Owens loving each other has me giggling like a schoolgirl. Shane/Bryan/Shane/Stewart segment made me laugh. NEW DAY TO THE RESCUE! (Sidenote since I’ve been out: I like the New Day/Club storyline, glad they took out Big E, not that I don’t love him, but they’ve needed some real obstacle to overcome. I think the Club will win, but who know. Sets up for an eventual New Day split/Big E title run?? Charlotte v Sasha - (sidenote - I’m so happy Sasha got the title on the opening Raw. Gave the new era a great title change, and just boosted the Women’s Division yet again. From last night, having not watched the Takeover, I wonder if Bayley will play a part tonight, but she’s such a babyface that I can’t imagine her ever doing a run in ever, unless someone gets involved for Charlotte first.) (sidenote - in case I missed in in the pre-show, but I don’t think so, I love what they have been doing with Eva Marie and I can’t believe the heat she’ll have after the suspension. Steering her into the hate was the best move ever. Also, Naiomi with the new glow in the dark entrance was cool on SD.) Holy shit, that drop Charlotte did on Sasha in the corner. That looked bad, in a good way, but on the replay she probably got it more on the neck than planned. Sick backbreaker by Char. She’s gone full cerebral assassin on this. OH SHIT. The razor’s edge counter made me shit a brick. Mauro in the background cheering haha. Saw Sasha say “slap me” lol. Sasha on the turnbuckle submission/knees was nice. (sidenote: Corey Graves fucking kills it.) Opposite turnbuckle work just as good. Thought the backstabber was a botch at first, but that was nice counter/sequence. OH SHIT! CHAR WITH THE WIN ON THE BANK-STATEMENT PIN! DID IT ON HER OWN!! I actually really like that, just build up a rubber match for the first Raw exclusive PPV? Doctors Gallows and Anderson are amazing. That’s all there is to it. #BEATUPJOHNCENA OOOOOH SHIT BALOR CAME OUT...and then snubbed them boooo… Nice Miz vs Crews. Gotta assume Miz retains here, still too early to put a belt on Apollo, imo. If they put the belt on him tonight it feels rushed/like a classic WWE mistake -- almost lost my train of thought looking at Maryse’s ass gatdamn. No real thoughts on the match, went well, like it. Little early for AJ/Cena, but I’m good with it. This will be a great match, so were the previous iterations. Might be the first time John Cena has gotten the full “John Cena Sucks” treatment since he came back. It made me happy. Crowd is fired up for this. Oh damn there for a second I thought AJ was going to do a reverse Attitude Adjustment, spinout pb was nice though. Oh damn an AA back/neck breaker from AJ, nice. Submission match I did not expect this to turn into, nice sequence. Can’t believe AJ kicked out of the Avalanche AA. haha and Cena stands in the corner “the fuck??” Not going for the pin after the AA reversal Styles Clash? OH SHIT PHENOMENAL FOREARM, BEATS CENA CLEAN, AJ BLEEDING FROM THE MOUTH!!! So, now I’m expecting Jon Stewart to get a bad case of ringpostitis now. Kofi with the “hold ma dick” jump haha. Graves killing Byron for his suit haha. Lol, yep, here comes the ringpostitis. Aww Big E run in. Booo. I wanted The Club to get titles here. Haha spit take with the ball juice. Ambrose Ziggler now? Fair enough. I like them putting Dolph in the first title feud. Ambrose teasing the Sweet Chin Music was great. I don’t have much to say here, wasn’t a super exciting match, expected a little more. Ambrose wasn’t selling very well, pretty lazy finish/cover at the end, despite Dirty Deeds being so protected, it just wasn’t that exciting. Haha Mauro burying Byron from the Smackdown booth during Becky’s entrance. Fantastic. OH God they’re even doing Eva Marie’s entrance while suspended. Amazing. Now I feel like her suspension is kayfabe. Uh, Naomi with the stinkface, wtf? Crowd is still super dead, has been for the most part since AJ/Cena Not a big fan of the red belt. Maybe it’ll grow on me. LIke Rollins gear. Not much to say other than this has been an entertaining match. Not sure putting the title on Finn is the right call, pushing him to the top real damn quick. But I was fine with either winning so w/e. I was wondering what was going to happen since I’m watching this on delay and there was only ~30 minutes left. Really wanted to watch Rusev machka, kinda disappointed. I’ve managed to avoid all spoilers, except I did see a picture of Randy Orton’s head on twitter earlier. So I know some shit is about to go down. Lesnar bleeding from the ear? Not sure what happened. Smackdown table down. RKO on the Raw table and it didn’t go down! Oh god damn it was an elbow that opened him up? And he is fucking gushing. I can’t decide if Lesnar going back in for the “weak” punches was a good thing or not. Makes him look crazy, but damn I mean that’s a lot of blood. The F5 to shane seemed planned though, so now I’m confused. I have no idea what to think right now.
Was thinking the same thing. If he debuted at 30 with his full demon entrance, the crowd will lose their shit.
I'm afraid I have some bad news... Spoiler Roman Reigns is the early frontrunner to win next week’s Fatal 4Way and become the second Universal champion.
If Balor did the Demon entrance, at least three other wrestlers would have to walk around him to the ring, lol.
Exactly. You want to make the belt seem important, get it away from a guy that wears a wife beater and jeans and looks like he is in the early stages of Parkinsons with his mannerisms. Ambrose is also very slow and sloppy in the ring. It just looks like bad wrestling when he is in there.
WWE is working toward a Shane McMahon vs. Brock Lesnar match, probably for next year’s Royal Rumble. If this happened, Shane would legit get killed.
Didnt Shane already pay his "final dues" when he jumped off the HIAC? What possible purpose does Lesnar vs. Shane accomplish? No one wants to see that.
I've been tired of Brock for a while. Was hoping he would stayed in the UFC before his last come back.
Bayley got another huge reaction last night which is awesome after reading how before her appearance at Battleground she was worried that no one would know who she was and that she was going to come out to silence. I really wonder how they are going to book her over the next month. Ideally she'd beat Charlotte at Clash of Champions and then have Sasha come out and turn on her.
I'd love for them to slow burn Bayley winning until Mania. If Sasha can get back to health soon then let Charlotte carry it until Sasha is good to go, then pass it to Bayley at WM33.
I have to say it. I'm going to miss John Cena. He has won me over the past two years. I can't think of the last time he just shit the bed in a match and wasn't extremely entertaining
He's also put over a ton of wrestlers. AJ, Owens, Rollins, Bray, Ziggler (letting him star in Survivor Series 2014), Brock...he's laid down for a ton of guys when he didn't have to (even if he went on to eventually win the feud).
Yeah, but he killed all the momentum Bray and Rusev had, and to a lesser extent Owens. I like that Cena put over AJ, but let's not act like he hasn't done his fair share of burying up and coming talent as well.
