Draft is tentatively looking like Aug. 30 at 8 PM EST. SPEAK NOW OR FOREVER HOLD YOUR PEACE. Also, begin posting rule suggestions. The co-commissioners and I will rule on them and then they will be added to the OP. All players will have to fill out a Google form verifying that they have read the rules entirely before they receive their league invites. We will have a zero tolerance policy this year for blatant rules violations. Your game results will be tossed and given to your opponent that week; multiple game losses will occur for serious violations (it's nice we can do that this year instead of just straight booting you as the only recourse).
I may miss that draft time but don't really care- I suck at drafting slightly less than I suck at playing.
When does the game come out? Rules: No CPU trades No Danny Cheesing No throwing 40 WR screens per game to earn XP I'll think of more. i love rules.

You are not going to be able to boost guys really quick this version I think. To upgrade development they upped it to like 20k as well as when you go to game prep there is only 1 earn XP option and it costs 10 hours for a potential reward of 40-123. You can do drills but they cost 20 hours for a potential reward of 110-348
Also I simmed the season with the Browns in owner mode week by week, resigned Josh Gordon to a decent deal (think I gave him $6m up front) and still ended the season with $28-29 million plus got more in the offseason
Madden 16 > 15 in almost every way. I'm new to the whole thing since about 2006 but the past week have played both 15 / 16 with Ea Access... Clearly better this year.

what's "danny cheesing" if its running the same 3 plays on offense so that the game gets boring then i'm totally against that
TENTATIVE LEAGUE RULES (open for notice and comment): 1. Cheesing is the repetitious exploitation of in-game "glitches" or using techniques which an NFL team would not. For example: Repeated rollouts with mobile QBs in a manner which would not be successful in the 'real' NFL is unacceptable. This league strives for a true "simulation" experience of the real NFL. Cheesing will result in losses and potentially removal from the league, at the discretion of the league commissioners. 2. Proposing trades with CPU-controlled teams is forbidden. The ONLY manner in which a trade with the CPU may be accomplished is to add assets to the "Trade Block" then receive offers from the CPU. You must TAKE A PHOTO of the CPU team's proposal and upload it to the league thread on TMB or the GroupMe chat to verify the use of this method. You may then accept the best offer the CPU teams offer you. Trades with other users are completely permitted (unless it's clear that one team is sandbagging for the purposes of assisting another user in a purely altruistic way. We call that collusion. No collusion) 3. Earning XP for your players' development is an important part of building a successful team. However, exclusively building one player in CPU games or against other users for the purposes of player development is forbidden. For example, you may not throw to one rookie receiver upwards of 20 times a game. 4. At critical points of the season, we will explicitly schedule Week Advances so that everyone will have an opportunity to compete. For example, the advance from the offseason to Preseason Week 1 will be clearly scheduled in advance to give all users an opportunity to sign free agents. Sometimes, we will advance the week to one of these periods but request that users do not to a certain activity (such as sign free agents) until a stated time (again, to give everyone a fair shake). Noncompliance with trade or signing embargoes will result in penalties, at the discretion of the commissioners. 5. When scheduling a time to play your opponent, you should be as reasonable and compliant with each others' schedules as possible. The user who is the most "at fault" for a game not being played should set himself to "Auto" and permit his opponent to play the CPU. If both are equally at fault, the game should be simulated. Please make the commissioners aware if you feel a game should be simmed. 6. This league is not suitable for users who have intermittent "internet problems." This might suck for some of you, but it's the only way we can ensure the integrity of game results. So, too many game connection drops (especially ones at critical points of games or when you are losing to either a user or the CPU), will result in losses, suspensions, or removal from the league. 7. In all other issues, the commissioners will try to be as reasonable possible. In return, we ask the same of you. Whenever you make a move or play a game, ask yourself "whether a reasonable NFL team would do [insert thing here]?" If not, there's a chance you could be penalized. If the matter is in a gray area, the commissioners will ask for input from the rest of the league as to how to resolve the issue. Common penalties will include awarding wins to your opponent (a new feature this year) or setting you to "Auto" for a certain number of weeks.
Once you guys get going I don't think you'll find #3 to be an issue with the rate that you get XP. Also you get goals before each game as well as on each drive (both offense and defense; it may be for a player to get a tackle, to force a fumble, take so much time off the clock, finish drive with passing td, etc) that result in confidence and small XP boosts
The whole idea of cheesing as I understood it, having played Danny and IZWT as well as a couple others many many times, is that it's snapping the ball and immediately sprinting to the sideline whether to post up and wait for a cross route or to run up on a corner and then lop it over his head to the guy he was covering. It doesn't have anything to do with the play being a PA because "PA Rollout" is a commonly used play that fits the description in Rule #1. That's perfectly fine to sprint to the sideline after the play fake. Running the Slants play (IZWT) or a standard PA drop back (Danny) and sprinting to the sideline is a different story. And it's easy to monitor because of the game showing the last play ran by the O/D when you're in the huddle following the play.
This has scarred our poor TLAU deeply. I'm not a cheeser, but I did have a bad team. I got sick of having instant pressure and slid my line left so that I could one time (ONCE) run to the right on a TD pass in the redzone. Now we are mortal enemies who are sworn to drop everything and fight immediately if we ever see each other IRL. sucks.
desperate times my friend. nobody is going to police it enough that doing it once or twice in a game would have any consequences. but Danny and IZWT average 10 cheeses/game.
IZWT drafts Mariotta. Calling it. Gonna be nice to play him without supercharged Cam Newton for once.
Are we planning on only playing one season? If we plan on doing multiple seasons, I need to know for draft purposes, such as age and contracts.
we played 5 seasons with M15 and that was after starting 1.5 months late and not moving too fast in the first season. I'd say we play 5-6

Age: Yes definitely a concern. Old players get slow REALLY quick. once a WR/RB/DB hits age 29-30 they get slow as fuck. DL/LB/OL don't decline nearly as bad. Robert Mathis was still a pretty damn good player on my team in year 4 of our league last year @ 37 years old IIRC Contracts Values I believe go by when you take them in the draft. I think that was established in the GroupMe. and would assume maybe a standard 4 year contract if they go with the length of rookie contracts in the game. That is just a guess though and I haven't seen it addressed anywhere

Your first point may be invalid. That was on a different game. The player development and cash in owner mode seems very different in 16 than 15 IMO so may want to start a franchise and sim a season at a time to see what kind of dropoff the older guys have because they may have adjusted that as well

Excessive and unnecessary running to the sideline regardless of the play is cheese. A rollout isn't designed for you to run all the way to th sideline then chuck it.
Let's not get too petty here, chief. if you roll outside of the tackle box you're gonna be pretty close to the sideline especially if you're rolling to the short side of the field. Nobody is gonna punish someone for rolling out on a play designed for the QB to roll out regardless of their proximity to the sidelines when they throw the ball. In fact a decent amount of these IRL end up with the QB throwing the ball away as he runs out of bounds because nobody got open. Now if someone starts calling PA Rollout 10-15+ times a game just try and justify the sprint/throw tactic, I think reprimand is perfectly fine because that's bush league.
What I'm saying is that calling a rollout does not allow you to run around and fuck with the CPU logic. It will happen and that's chill, but it's not an excuse to call that play just so you can do that all the time.
