I figured he probably would be, but since he is more of a fringe player others ahead of him could be sold and he could probably start. Although I would rather him be sold to a team where he can get pt and possibly some time in Europe.
The timing could not be worse for Jozy Altidore. With three friendlies and a pair of World Cup qualifiers on the horizon for the U.S. national team and his club in a fight for a place in Europe next season, Altidore was forced to exit AZ Alkmaar's 1-1 draw with NEC in the first half with an apparent head injury. According to game reports from the Netherlands, Altidore was pushed into advertisement boards on the side of the field by NEC defender Kevin Conboy, hit his head and was knocked out. There has been no definitive word on his condition, and the severity of the injury and how long he might be out are not yet known. While Altidore, who has scored 19 goals in all competitions, has relished his move to a new club this season
Yeah it is, he seems to be a forgotten man since his injury. He really impressed me in the Gold Cup and is starting in a top league. Lichaj, Johnson and Chandler are some damn good young defenders, wish we could find some CB's like them.
yeah, they barely used him; he's some one who they are not high on and I think they can sell fairly easily.
Josh Gatt is fast, scores the 3rd goal and assists on the 4th against Ricardo Clark and Sean Cunningham's team. http://translate.google.com/transla....op.no/fotball/eliteserien/article6056314.ece
Michael Parkhurst will be in the group stages of the CL next season. Nordsjaelland beat out Copenhage to win the Danish league title, and next season is the 1st year the Danish champ goes straight into the CL group stages. They have the 3rd smallest budget of Danish teams, pretty cool feat. 20 y/o Cobi Span scored his 1st goal in Sweden
Chievo director Giovanni Sartori spoke today about Michael Bradley. He was asked about Inter and Roma after Bradley, his response: "I neither conform nor deny, I can safely say that considering the excellent season by the American midfielder, the chances of him being in a Chievo uniform next season are very small." Also, said he expects Palermo to be interested in Bradley.
Quote from Chievo Verona's sporting director, apparently also has offers from the EPL and BL “But with Bradley he has important offers from top teams in our Division and at the top level in foreign championships from England and Germany." “My feeling? Probably we will part ways in this summer’s transfer market. We’ve already found his replacement.”
Bradley-Roma news from Seltzer Okay, undo your belts, it's about to get real. I've long reported the possibility of AS Roma chasing Michael Bradley, and friends, that time has arrived. I recently confirmed Italian reports that the Giallorossi had finally made an introductory call to Chievo about their only true American crush. Roma are trying to move quickly on targets before Euro 2012 ends, when potential competitors and the big transfer topics turn focus back to the summer market. They are now doing the same thing in chasing Ajax right back Gregory van der Wiel. For Bradley, though, the early talks have been very productive. I've been informed by someone who would definitely know that Roma have vaulted ahead of Palermo in the race and could soon be getting close. The details? No problem. Roma are hoping to pay around €3 million, with midfielder Leandro Greco and promising reserve team winger Giammario Piscitella also heading to Chievo in the deal. In case you're wondering, that approximately places Bradley's current market value in the €6 million neighborhood, so my guess that his price tag had doubled this season turned out to be pretty accurate. Personally, I feel that valuation is still low, but practical Chievo may not put up much of a fight. As far as playing time goes, Roma technical director Walter Sabatini is courting Bradley as at least a platoon man, if not expecting him to earn a starting place during the campaign. High-wage Real Madrid loan midfielder Fernando Gago will not be back and their summer goal is to streamline the roster and wage bill best they can. As I said, this is not a drill. It's in effect and initially looking good. A few folks out there maybe thought I was making up this Bradley-Roma connection so long ago. I think they may soon realize that was never the case.
RANGERS are set to lose their three-man American contingent of Carlos Bocanegra, Mo Edu and Alejandro Bedoya – for a paltry total of just £300,000. http://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/sport/land-of-the-free-for-ibrox-usa-aces.18015141
Will be VERY interesting to see where Bedoya, Edu and Boca end up...hopefully Bedoya can stay out of the MLS esp. since he's still semi-young
Boca is getting on in years... wonder who is going to want to give him the opportunity to string a few more seasons together.
Chievo and AS Roma have finally settled on a transfer fee for Michael Bradley, with a package of 3.6 million euros, half-ownership of Adrian Stoian and a season loan for Leandro Greco in exchange for the US midfielder. A source close to the situation told MLSsoccer.com that the deal is down to paperwork, with Roma manager Zdenek Zeman hoping to have Bradley at their preseason camp in the northern Italian hamlet of Riscone on Monday. The 24-year-old New Jersey native passed his medical and inked a four-year contract on Thursday. The transfer caps a 14-month Giallorossi crush, with technical director Walter Sabatini recently telling local reporters that the club would have chased Bradley last summer if the necessary non-European Union roster slot had been available. After hosting a friendly against Romanian second flighters Turnu Severin next Saturday, Bradley and his new teammates will fly to the United States for a three-game tour. They'll take on Poland's Zaglebie Lubin at Wrigley Field in Chicago (July 22), Liverpool at Fenway Park in Boston (July 25) and El Salvador's national team at Red Bull Arena (July 27).
I'd go to Red Bull Arena (only 30 mins from me) to see Roma vs. El Salvy but that place is just gonna be a mess
Looks like Dempsey going to Liverpool is becoming more likely and talks have gone well today between both sides...would be great to get this done before Liverpools America tour

There is still some final negotiations for the extact transfer price but the the two sides are very close and a deal is expected to be reached on Monday or Tuesday. "MLS has agreed to sell Geoff Cameron to Stoke City," a source told YA on Friday afternoon. "The price is very nearly agreed to but it won't be a hurdle. We expect a deal with Stoke on Monday or Tuesday." Last week it was also reported that a work permit was going to be difficult for Cameron but there is more optimism on that than before. "A work permit shouldn't be an issue," the source added. Cameron, 27, has spent his entire professional career with Houston and has been capped by the US national team five times including a recent World Cup qualifier against Guatemala. US national team head coach Jurgen Klinsmann has said publically that he sees Cameron as having a future with the team as it builds toward the 2014 World Cup in Brazil
Not sure yet Josh Gatt's 4th goal of the year http://www.socceroverthere.com/?p=9610 Gatt also will play in a CL qualifier this week
Fuck yes Boyd...would love for him to be a part of our future plans...this is great to see he's getting some first team experience in Europe (albeit a friendly). Wonder if Bradley played in that game as well.
Bradley started. The game has barely gone to half time. Gaknight has provided a link to the game in the Transfer thread.
He started but it's a mix of starters, non starters, and primevera for Roma so no indication about Bradley's place. Plus DDR is on vacation after Euro's.
