Jones needs a couple days off so they promoted Parmelee(4-6 with 2 homers yesterday) Think it was also because others didn't have any options left and Chen for some reason had 1. Chen has been awesome though and Miguel too, Ubaldo is having a good year but lost all control last start. Tillman/Norris are a complete mess, would be nice if all our pitching prospects quit getting hurt too. Gausman has been in the minors for a while and Bundy/Harvey are out with injuries again.
Apparently it may have been a move to have him miss the Toronto series (who crush lefthanded pitching) - and Chen was quite annoyed http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/mlb-b...motion-and-he-may-have-a-point-005152575.html
Chen's previous agent was apparently pretty terrible… They've optioned him before. Word from Showalter was that Chen was fatigued so they wanted to give him a rest. Not sure how legit that is since he went 8 just the other day. Hopefully it doesn't mess with his routine. Feels like we're much better now that we're getting healthy. If Tilly would just start pitching better and Norris would stop being absolutely awful...
at Bud not getting an earned run for that shit tonight, baseball is stupid sometimes. He's still at 6.7 too.
At least an hour early from my experiences with the big promotions. The game is close to a sell out already and they are having a state of the O's thing with Dan and Buck for all season ticket plan holders with tickets before the game at like 4. So there will be a lot of people there really early. I"ll be there around 4 or 430. And yeah its dumb that Bud not getting charged with any of those runs when 2 of the miscues were on him that inning.
Another great hitting performance from the whole lineup, nice to see Pearce being useful. Miguel needs to do something about all these homers though.
Machado is up to 6th in the league in WAR, he's just filthy. Nice to see Tillman get his head out of his ass yesterday.
Bud has to be done, this is criminal. Gotta go with Gausman, I'd even have McFarland start before Bud at this point.
I'm sure H/T is loving Pearce these days Sick of this shit tier hitting. Love JJ but he is making way too much money to be hitting as bad as he is.
We're still in contention but damn, this is frustrating. Manny is the only thing keeping me going recently.
2.78 ERA and 4 wins, that's just sad. Chen has been fantastic. If Ubaldo can keep it up, think we'll be fine. Miguel is better than his last couple starts, Tillman can't get worse and has been a great 2nd half pitcher in previous years, and Gausman will be a big upgrade over Bud. Shouldn't be too hard to find 1 but we really need some better middle relief. Mostly just need to start finding ways to win, think the pieces are there but finding ways to lose.
Told you fuckers. Pearce is a faggot. What a weird season. We are in the race but so up and down and the east is a dogfight.
Chen pitched pretty well today. Of course bud comes in and gives up the only walk of the game. Hitting has to come around soon. I don't see the Yankees keeping up the pace they are on either. Davis made a great catch in the outfield. But he made a terrible attempt at one right before it. What's Nate mclouth up to these days
What am I watching today? 4 hits with RISP, craziness. If Schoop can develop some hitting discipline like Manny did and not like every other idiot on our roster, he could be great.
Any chance we make a move for a corner outfielder or another starter? I don't think we have the ammo in the farm system to make a big move
Doesn't sound probable at this point. Would be insane to give up Schoop or Gausman and the farm is at a very weak point right now. Who knows, just get Snider out of my life.
Wilson/Givens combining to give up 2 ER and scatter 6 hits. Would rather take our chances with Wilson down the stretch than allow Bud Norris to hurt me any more.
http://virginia.247sports.com/Bolt/...s-Tyler-Wilson-notches-emotional-win-38550771 Former Virginia standout, Baltimore Orioles rookie Tyler Wilson notched an emotional win on Monday against the Oakland Athletics, 9-2. Wilson pitched 7 2/3 innings on his way to his first win as a Major League stater. The former Cavalier received the call up over the weekend and was told he would be starting Monday night in Oakland. Monday was the day of his wife Chelsea’s grandfather, who passed last week, Papa Dan’s funeral. He was unable to attend, but Wilson is confident that Dan O’Neill was entertained watching from above. Brittany Ghiroli of MLB.com spoke with Wilson following the game. "The win definitely has a little more of a special meaning for me," Wilson said on the night of Dan O'Neill's funeral. "He was a diehard baseball fan, and I know he enjoyed watching the game somewhere, so it definitely was a little more special. "I think Papa Dan would have rather had me out here pitching and watching down than being at his funeral." Orioles manager Buck Showalter weighed in on Wilson. "He knows how to win," said Showalter. "He's athletic. He knows he's not carrying around [plus stuff], but the package. He's got three pitches he can get over the plate. If he can get his feet on the ground early in the game he can make it so guys don't know what's coming and keep it in the ballpark."
Norris has been out for a couple weeks and gone for good, Wilson was called up since Tillman has a twisted ankle. Fell asleep before Givens got in last night, he looked great in the appearance before that though. Sidearm with real stuff to go with it.
