Loved the season and thought the finale was superb. I rewatched the car scene with Peggy and Lou a half dozen times. The Betsy scenes were tought to watch, it's amazing how well they did each character and their storyline.
That homage to Miller's Crossing in ep 7 At this point I think I'm enjoying the Coen tributes more than the Tarantino esque plot tbh...still a hell of a follow up
watched the last 2 episodes tonight so still digesting, but this season was the tv form of the 100 emoji
Loved the ending(last 30-45) minutes...the second half of the season took a massive swan dive into shit though...probably should've spread the first five eps over 7-8 episodes.
They really missed an opportunity to include "Always put one in the brain" when they initially took Walt Jr to make the hit on Todd
You didn't like the 2nd half of the season? First person I've seen say that which makes sense since it was amazing
I felt it was a little too ambitious...and the UFO was mind numbingly bad...I don't know how someone working on the show didn't put a stop to that...that topped 737 down over abq as my most hated moment in a show I love
I don't understand how anything I said could be objectionable...I don't mind anyone disagreeing with my thoughts on the final act of the season, but the critical moment was objectively terrible.
Wasn't a fan of the UFO but can't imagine letting that bother me enough to take away the greatness of that season.
You also seem to go against the grain on a ton of shows and movies, your opinions may just be terrible.
1. This season was absolutely fantastic. 2. TV is really good right now. 3. The UFO was absolutely retarded.
season was fantastic. The opening of the finale was great, carrying on the story telling from the episode before. At first I was a little disappointed in the second half of the finale, but so many of the main characters were dead, that after thinking about it the ending did offer some nice closure to those who remained. I do wish Karl could have made one more appearance. While I still don't understand the UFO it didn't bother me in any way. Like someone else mentioned, it kind of added to the ridiculousness of the story. Would like to know what happens with Mike next though.
So is this show going to be about a different crime occurring in the northern midwest every season? With a whole different plot and characters?
I honestly forgot about it until tonight when I watched episode 9. What a weird, random thing to throw in there. I didn't hate it.
I mean, Chekhov's spaceship. My thought at the time was that, given the way the story was framed, the visitors were included to add to the mystique of that evening.
About to watch the final episode of S2... serious question, what can I watch next that is remotely as good as this show? Hating Walking Dead, caught up on Homeland, Billions is guilty pleasure watching, caught up on True Det, waiting on GoT... I was thinking The Americans, people seem to love that.
I liked where season 2 was initially headed but it just became too much of a clusterfuck. Anytime any of the Gerhardt's were on screen it was a snoozefest. Peggy and Ed conclusion was predictable. Not enough Joe Bullo or Karl Weathers. It just didn't feel Fargo enough for me. It just felt like a haphazard mash-up of every Coen bros. film to date. Still a fine season but season 1 is infinitely better.
I didn't share that experience. It was completely enjoyable throughout and there wasn't a character that I didn't love.
Has anybody watched Mr Robot on USA? I watched e1 today and thought it was good. Lots of good monolog.
Ok thanks for the link. I'm new here and get lost in the mammoth size of the board/boards. I'm used to the rivals boards- tmb, soundoff and Alabama's home board. Threads on those boards seem to fade away after a day or so.
The scene with Lou and Peggy in the car where he tells her the story about the helicopter pilot in Vietnam is just amazing television. I've probably watched it a half dozen times or more.
Started the season 3 thread http://www.the-mainboard.com/index.php?threads/fargo-season-three.163672/
It is truly crazy how much better s2 was considering how good s1 was. I am hoping for a rebound s4 after seeing some of the cast
