I always had a soft spot for him, so I'm glad that he has managed to get a sustained run of play and taken advantage of it.
There's a slight possibility we might have gotten relegated last season had we not loaned him in. He was the spark plug we needed. So for that, I have a soft spot for him too.
It will be interesting to see if we stay with our standard 4-2-3-1 tomorrow or if we switch to the 3-4-3 we used on the road vs. Watford to combat their 2 striker system.
I think we may just stick with our standard formation tomorrow given our form and the fact we are at home. We should look to impose our gameplan on them instead of reacting to their formation. -------------------Hugo------------------ Walker------Toby------Wimmer----Davies -----------Dier------------Dembele-------- Lamela-------------Alli------------Eriksen ---------------King Harry---------------- I think Mo is gonna look to switch up at least one of the forward 3 midfielders. Given his soft spot for Lamela I could see him being slotted into the starting XI ahead of Sonny for this matchup. I wouldn't be surprised to see Chadli get a run out over Eriksen either, but this is the lineup I'm gonna go with.
I think with Jan being hurt we're almost guaranteed to see three at the back. Wouldn't be surprised to see Alli sit either since he left the Norwich game early. With our attacking miss we've got 5 good players to fill three spots, so I can be happy with whoever Poch chooses out of Lamela, Eriksen, Son, Chadli, and Alli/Dembele.
I think we are playing well enough right now that we shouldn't let them dictate to us but the other way around. It didn't work all that well at Watford, we were a Sonny flick at the death away from only getting the draw and didn't perform particularly well on the day. This could work but I prefer the 4-2-3-1. ---------------Hugo----------------- ------Toby------Dier------Wimmer Walker---Moose-----Alli-------Rose Lamela--------Kane--------Eriksen With 3 at the back I'd put Rose in for Davies due to his penchant for bombing forward a little more often. He delivered some nice entry passes midweek and had a pretty solid game so I would't mind him being rewarded with another start here. That said I wouldn't be surprised to see Mo rotate the fullbacks as he has been doing. Alli just had a dizzy spell so I expect him to start regardless of formation, he is too important for us to sit if healthy. With Dier being so versatile we have the ability to kind of morph between the two formations during the match if need be. I agree with you on the attacking players, I really won't have any fault with whoever Mo decides to start. They are all playing fairly well and offer different things to the team.
#THFC: Lloris (c), Trippier, Alderweireld, Wimmer, Davies; Dembele, Dier; Chadli, Eriksen, Lamela; Kane #COYS Looks like four at the back. Also, Leicester up 3-0 after 72 minutes, win and we're in second but it might be getting more and more unlikely that Leicester "fall off."
I'd prefer he have great games against everyone other than us, he almost cost us 2 points today. In hindsight it didn't cost us but he made some real nice stops.
After the spanking they got from Leicester yesterday Man City will be looking to bounce back against us next weekend, but I am fairly confident we can snatch a result if we go up there and play to our capabilities. We haven't lost on the road since opening day which is an amazing record. A draw would be a decent enough result but a win would really send a statement to the rest of the league. As for this morning it would be nice for minnows Bournemouth and Chelsea to snatch some points against Arsenal and United, respectively
Part 4 of the Crystal Palace behind the badge just came on NBCSN, it features our match vs. them with the Alli wonder strike. Excited to see the behind the scenes action after that match.
We are rumored to be inking Eriksen to a 3 year extension thru 2021. West Brom lost but apparently Pritchard was one of the only players to impress for them, glad to see him get minutes straight away.
We've reportedly got first right of refusal on Berahino come the summer transfer window. I'd like us to kick on and secure CL, then we'd be able to attract even better options come next window.
Right now they are garbage in defense and they are gonna leave tons of space in behind. If your guys don't go vintage Spurs and they just play like they have all season I expect a win
Their record vs the Top 6 this year is Spurs-esque. Think they are 0-1-5 or something bad. That being said I'm sure we'll go out and get beat 4-0
I, four one, think we owe you some revenge but certainly don't have confidence that we will deliver it
Like watching this every couple of weeks. The sheer diversity of the goals is what stands out. Long range, short range, left foot, right foot, header. Class. Side note, I loved the all yellow kits.
I don't want to do anything to snap this hot streak we are on, but we are gonna have to create a new team thread sooner than later. With TMB AIDS running rampant it is taking forever to load these really long threads. It would also be nice to edit our thread titles without sending a postcard to GFA. What say ye? I'll start a new one once you guys weigh in, and all good thread title ideas will get their fair shot. broXcore Owsley colonelrascals NYGator Marv PeterGriffin VoodooChild5 TheWampa Spontaneous Cumbustion Topper Bottoms dfmPSU I'll Give You Asthma
It is taking awhile to load for everyone else too, right? I wish we could have waited until we transitioned to the new stadium, but the AIDS has sped along the relocation process.
i think it's just tmb in general that's slow, and i know there are bigger threads out there, but you're probably right it's just a matter of time. some horrible stuff has happened to the club in the 6 years (holy shit) since this thread has started, so i'd hope we'd be ok starting a new thread.
We can still visit the old thread from time to time for nostalgia. The load time for threads this long compared to ones with just a handful of pages is definitely noticeable, at least to me.
I apologize for leaving you out of the tagfest, oversight on my part but I have had a few Chardonnays.
That doesn't necessarily mean I wouldn't have still imbibed had I needed to report to work tomorrow, but in this case I'm in the clear. I figured I'd combine Super Bowl Monday with my trip to Vermont on Wednesday for my buddy's wedding this weekend. Gonna get a few days on the slopes, in more ways than one I'd imagine.
The rags are reporting that United have contacted Poch, they can fuck off. I really think he is in for the long haul, but those dirty bastards will do anything just to cause a little distraction. He's got complete control here, one of the best training facilities on Earth, a new stadium on the way, and a young exciting team playing amazing football. And who wants to live in Manchester over London? If you have one shit season at a club like that you are out on your ass, and won't have near as much control as he does here. Double his pay and post a picture of him signing the new contract with his arm on his own shoulder.
