while i don't disagree that they're a great team, that beautiful goal was an anomaly for them. they usually score shit goals or set pieces.
I don't know how long Neville is going to last at Valencia. They are drawing too many matches and not scoring any goals. The loss to Gijon yesterday was a very poor result. He needs to get a gig in England somewhere.
It's insane some of the challenges messi has faced through the years and come through relatively unscathed. Still can't believe that Ramos tackle a few years ago didn't wreck him. His ankle looked like a hot mess
Barcelona are up at half but not looking all that good so far, it has been a drab affair. An own goal by Levante is all that separates the teams.
Would be an interesting team to play for. They are so far from the mainland. They are playing some lovely stuff.
They are really confident on the ball thus far. Not sure how long it will last but they are certainly giving as good as they are getting right now.
VDB's selections/who plays the 9 is one of the most interesting personnel storylines heading into the Euros imo. Costa has been a bust with the NT so far so does Aduriz, Alcacar, Morata etc get a shot?
alcacer has been a lock for the team. morata definitely deserves a spot. however aduriz is clearly the best in form striker spain has right now. if he's healthy, he should definitely be called up despite his age.
my forwards would be alcacer, morata, aduriz, pedro, and nolito. that being said, i doubt VDB would drop diego costa. if he had to stay, i'd drop nolito for aduriz.
Costa is on fire but yeah, he's been dogshit for Spain. Spain is so deep but also few clear cut starters which leads to a lot of difficult decisions on starters and VDB may be crazy enough to still start Iker. Euros will be fun.
Oh Paco & Morota will both def make the squad, my question was who gets the start against the Czechs? Costa is the big name and while he's playing better at the moment (even though it's still 3+ months away) VDB's FR has always been better with a skillful/speedy/false 9 rather than a "target man"
An own goal and a penalty by Getafe in the opening 9 minutes, lets see if Barca can convert from the spot.
It amazes me how they can be so good from open play yet totally bereft of confidence from the spot. Messi just dribbled it right to the keeper.
With a missed pen, absurd. Very nice goal there, this will probably get even uglier with over a half hour left.
