We had probably the toughest match of all the teams today, but everyone behind us lost as well. We win on Saturday and everything is fine. I thought the best we would do is a draw today. Of course it would have been great to win and go top, but that may have been the toughest match left on our league schedule.
pretty bad, but we're very lucky some other results went our way. we lose at home to arse on saturday, i'll be pretty fucking depressed.
Don't you even introduce that thought ITT. We aren't losing to those dildos. We have bounced back with a winning streak after each loss this season, nothing will change there.
Defense wasn't great and neither was our attack, but our midfield was terrible. Dier was bad. Mason was bad. And I don't understand what the point of Tom Carroll is. He's good against lower tier Europa teams and not much else.
harry kane needs to get his shit together as well, as NYGator said earlier. he has been very mediocre.
Dembele is such a calming presence in the midfield...he may not show up on the stat sheet but he does as much to make our team go as anyone. He certainly should've scored today, albeit from an offsides position, but I think our bigger issue is not having anyone else we can consistently rely on to produce goals. Eriksen, Dele, and Chadli are all good from time to time but you can't really count on them match in and match out in terms of putting it in the back of the net. Same with Son and Lamela...we have a lot of guys who can produce behind him, but none are traditional 9's and that's something that could really cripple us down the stretch.
Good game guys. I think if you would have fielded Alli from the start the result could have been different. I look forward to our two teams doing battle for London in the future.
agree completely. this might have done us in, but with leicester's three games being against united, everton, and chelsea, there are definitely opportunities for them to slip. saturday really means everything for the rest of the season
We have a better GD than everyone around us, so all we need to do is get even on points. 3 points with 10 matches left is certainly doable, guys.
Agreed. There's a lifetime left in this season. This weekend doesn't make or break anything. Today is proof that results don't stick to the script.
We missed out on a huge opportunity but the blow is soft as is possible with the other results. NLD is more important for both teams than it's ever been...can't wait.
For the first time ever, I wish this game was Sunday instead of Saturday. Purely from a rest/recovery standpoint.
At least Arsenal are at the same disadvantage, and are even worse off on the injury front. We are fitter than them so it should be to our advantage.
Poch said Dembele has a chance to play on Saturday. Would be huge if he could start as their midfield is a mess right now.
No, I just love your optimism especially when the margins have been so small in your results and you say you should ship 4 vs us.
The small margins have been in our losses, all by 1. We have the best goal differential in the league. The ship 4 comment was made off the cuff after seeing you will have no Cech and Kos in the lineup this weekend, your two best people in defense. I'm just over sand bagging, I feel like we should win this weekend and I'm going to say it. It could backfire spectacularly but I'm going to trust my assessment for now.
So we are making judgments on an entire season's worth of "margins" based solely on one match? Ok.... We also drew you guys after dominating the majority of the match, sometimes you get a result you don't deserve.
Or you could go to the Palace game where they should have had the lead 2-3 times before Alli's goal. I'm not really hating but your crazy ass is acting like Tottenham is some dominating force in these games. Keep the faith though, I hope all your dreams are shattered and I won't be there to stroke your hair.
This is our team thread after all, it isn't like I'm over in their lackluster thread proclaiming we will wipe the floor with them this weekend. If you don't want to read Tottenham homer speak, kindly gtfo.
I'll be at the arsenal bar at 4:45 am tomorrow. No Spurs bar to go to but it's looking like that may change soon.
I'm too volatile to watch this match around a bunch of other people, especially if they are Arsenal fans. No real good EPL bars in my direct vicinity anyway.
