Are you sure about that? Because I heard that's exactly what happened and most of the band members quit because of it.
Yes and only two band members quit. Kele and those two were feuding for a long time because they originally tried to replace them when he was doing solo stuff. A gay black man as a lead singer of a Christian rock band would be welcome, but: http://www.nme.com/news/bloc-party/88971
Ah. So only half the band quit and they're releasing a non-Christian rock album called Hymns. Got it.
i tend to believe someone if they say they aren't a christian or religious. i guess you have better sources.
One of the best new bands I've heard in a while, still need to check out the rest of the album tho Living Hour - This is the Place
Catching Deer Tick on their acoustic tour tonight. Should have seen them at Lockn back in September but Thursday got cancelled because of the weather, so I never got to. So this is my first time seeing them.
They're a fun band that's conducive to a part atmosphere. Hit the liquor first, hard. Switch to beer once it starts to feel fuzzy.
Oh ok. I was worried I posted some shit one night when I was drunk and you were calling me on my bs. Maybe I have a problem.
Was a lot of fun, sounded awesome. But man crowds down here are just the fucking worst. This isn't the first time I've thought that, but tonight both bands had to sing over the crowd which was just shitty people talking. I had to tell 3 or 4 different sets of people who came to stand behind me to shut the fuck up. It embarrasses me to stand in that sort of crowd. Makes me really appreciate the crowds I was in in Fayetteville
Going to this next Saturday. Obviously familiar with the bigger names but if anyone is familiar with some of the lesser known acts that'd be helpful. From Indian Lakes and Eleanor Friedberger are pretty high on my list to potentially see of those.
At the deer tick show right now. The opener Mutual benefit, isn't half bad. Also this show is all electric for deer tick
Sorta disappointed in the Ray Lamontagne / my morning jacket collab album. First single the released was definitely the best song. Not a bad album by any stretch just kinda a lot of them sounded the same.
I liked them both, but that was the first time I had heard any of Mutual Benefit and the crowd fucking sucked so I had trouble hearing it.
My favorite song from the new Miike Snow album Glad they're still making decent music. Miike Snow and Fleet Foxes were my intro into the indie scene oh so long ago.
Starting to sink my teeth into more releases this year. One early standout is Soda - Without a Head. The quality punk music coming out of Florida is hardly a secret anymore and this 12" is no exception. It'll be on my year end list. Buy it now. On the essential dull tools label run by none other than Andrew Savage and, before you ask...yes - this record was produced by Mikey Young. What are you waiting for? Anyone else bummed that the manateees cancelled their tour?
so um I read this at work this morning and was giddy as a kid the rest of the day new Diarrhea Planet album titled Turn to Gold will be out June 10th on the Infinity Cat label. I don't know how to link something from Sound Cloud but the links below both feature their new single Life Pass http://www.buzzfeed.com/matthewismaelruiz/in-the-studio-with-diarrhea-planet#.gqErqAXmBl http://www.spin.com/2016/03/diarrhea-planet-life-pass-new-single-turn-to-gold-new-album-june-10/
I went back to the old thread and looked through this one, didn't see anything posted Parquet Courts releasing a new album April 8th it is going to be called Human Performance and will surely be better than the EP Monastic Living, which was probably released as much to say fuck you to their bandwagon fans as it was to be a serious addition to their catalog see below for a single off the upcoming album called Dust
Sick Sick. Also, Soda, the band I pimped above, is touring with parquet courts this spring. Everybody should check their local listings. Also, I still think that's weird timing wise...didn't most of their bandwagon join early with stoned and starving and taper off already?
Anyone ever listen to or seen Washer? Really liking their new album and they're playing here next Monday for the SXSW overflow show. They remind me of Hum.
pleasantly surprised by this album. really enjoyed their first one forever ago, but the second one was a huge letdown. nothing groundbreaking or anything, but a fun listen.
Houndmouth Friday was fucking awesome. Although i could see the cocaine use as a huge detriment for long term stability
