Got to the end of the missions today. We'll have a group of 2-4 that are willing to band together whenever... Gonna be playing the shit out of this. Roommate and another friend are hooked as well. After you run out of missions it's basically run around the dark zone? Or even worth doing the random non-DZ encounters?
Dark Zone is amazing. The best guns and gear are currently at vendors there. The random npc enounters are great. Also you can redo missions at the hard difficulty to make it more challenging and get better loot.
true true. as a dark zone rookie, what are the different rules in there. In yesterdays shenanigans I gathered that if you kill another user you are rogue for like 60 seconds. we survived our only *accidental rogue experience by hiding in the subway. What happens if you die while rogue? lose weapons/armor you have equipped or is what you have equipped always safe? I know I got killed by a user in the DZ and I dropped several things I had picked up while in the DZ is that pretty standard? Trying to figure out why going rogue is a bad thing... Do you basically just run around waiting to stumble across random AI to fight? That's basically what we did what's the deal with the blue/red zones. I know they are contamination spots or whatever but what do they actually DO? I don't think I've ever had to physically put a mask on, is that just something the computer does when you're entering a contamination zone or what? just some questions that came up in our party that I was expected to be able to answer for some reason because I was the one who told everyone to download the game
Ok so a few things. Going rogue has two distinctions. You can be rogue at levels 1-4. They are fifths of the pie that surrounds the timer above your head. The more people you attack and kill, the liger your timer goes and the pie pieces fill up. Getting that 5th pie alerts everyone in the zone that there is a manhunt for you going on whereas if you go rogue with levels 1 through 4, it's just people relatively close to you. If you die as a rogue you lose both dark zone experience and dark zone credits as well as whatever you have picked up in the dark zone and not had flown out. If you survive a manhunt you get a lot of credits and experience which is why a lot of people do it. It definitely has is value if you're with a good group. Yes stumble into AI, look for chests to loot, and hunt down rogues. Need the DZ credits to buy the best gear. The secs have said there will be more stuff to do in the DZ at launch. In the actual game there will be contamination zones that you will die in if you don't have good enough gear. Your breathing apparatus has a rating on it. Blue zones are areas of interest and usually have npcs there or may be utilized more at launch. Yes it's part of your inherent gear. I'm not sure how it's going to be done at launch however there are distinct levels to it. There's a secret door in the hospital level once you go upstairs that leads you to a case. The zone there is higher than your mask and you die trying to get they chest because of it. Or it was that way in the closed beta.
I love the way you can unlock a few "traits" that aren't even available to fuck with on beta. got real excited when I unlocked the first couple of those at ~level 7. denied
Read last few pages of this thread- think I'm going to preorder, I loved the look of this game when it was first announced ages ago.
I was surprisingly overwhelmed with how vast the game is, I didnt expect there to be so many missions/side missions/etc. I expected the DZ to be more chaotic, everyone minded their own business. We went rogue twice. The first was in the subway, we had a straggler so I jokingly pointed my handgun at him and it turned us rogue. My squad mate mowed him down with a light machine gun and we stole his backpack. The second instance was when I stuck a NPC enemy with a sticky bomb/grenade (the skill/ability). Another player ran up to him as I detonated the grenade.
Dark Zone was fun. Had the experience of trying to extract something and just getting shot in the back then getting my stuff stolen. Hunted down some rogue teams and got some pretty sweet gear. Pre ordered the game and hopefully I can jump on with some PS4 TMB'rs when it comes out.
I'm bummed they didn't extend the beta one more day like they did with the closed beta. Bought a purple ACR that dealt extra damage to elites. Combined that with gear and mods that increased critical hit percentage and damage. That gun was great and I barely got to use it. Oh well
I'd be in for xbl as many of my friends are on dat dere phaggy time like getting pregnant with their best friend. same name - 'thegeneREL'
Here I'll make a list since I was wondering also. I'm hawkeye2323 Hawkeye2323 'thegeneREL' stinkygrundle SuitableTrain8 Cpt chr0n TLankAU LeeVi512 OleMissReb1284 Roonskie Feel free to add me on xbox and also to the list.
The liberator exotic assault rifle was pretty bad ass, I was mostly using that a sniper combo and it seemed to be pretty effective.
I saw that a lot, with that classic M44 carbine, they would get you with one snipe shot then switch to the liberator and boom you were done before you knew what hit you.
I never played destiny so I can't comment on that, but I agree on the stale part. They have so many opportunities to make this a huge franchise and be very successful. I thought the open beta was way better from the dark zone aspect cause they tweaked the refresh times and I was running into more computer enemies that kept me interested. I'm hoping they make some of the loot really hard to obtain so it keeps guys interested.
What kind of character/gaming style are you guys going to go for? I had a blast with my high DPS guy in the beta but I think I'll go with the tank route and just absorb bullets. I enjoyed being the guy to force the issue and draw fire with my forward movement/shield.
I'm not sure how I'll play yet, depends on what the group needs. I'm kind of a jack of all trades, I usually play the support roll and will get my teammates what they need.
Can't remember what the sniper rifle I had was but it was fantastic. 10 bullet clip + 1 w/ extended mag. 10x scope. large suppressor. 2nd gun was the AK w/ the ~2.4x scope, accuracy handle, bigger extended mag, and small suppressor. I want that combo back were you guys doing a lot of sell-to-buy with inferior armor? do you look at the little modifiers? (I didn't even look into what they were or did)
Shotguns need to be better. Idlike to run a sniper/shotty combo so i have something to quickly take out anyone who getsto close, but it was taking to many direct shots wih the shotty to justify it
I'm still on the fence about buying the season pass, but probably will anyway. On a side note got a email today telling me I've been activated, hopping on helo tomorrow and headed for the city to do my part to save the world. See you there.
http://tomclancy-thedivision.ubi.com/game/en-US/news/152-241692-16/the-division-servers-opening-time It just means you can preload the game the servers won't go live till March 8th
Announced there's gonna be loot trading. But likely only limited to players who were in your squad when it dropped. Perfect way to do it. Able to trade weapons and gear that aren't useful to you, but won't ruin the game like Diablo 3 when it first came out.
Apparently servers are live so if you have a disc copy already you can start playing. Digital copy still won't unlock until 12:01 e.
There is a pc thread http://the-mainboard.com/index.php?...he-division-pcmr-thread.161988/#post-10196469
I'm so ready for this. I'll be posting in here because the PS guys on this board I don't think are playing this. All indoctrinated by their bungie gods
