Late to this thread, but I did see I live in "what happened?" just a few blocks from the "run for your life honkey" border.
Trump didnt get my vote as an FYI. I would vote for him over Bernie and most likely Hilldawg in the general though.
Had no idea that place existed. Speaks to how often I go downtown. Get my locks cut at Wiseguys right by Oakland Mall off John R.
Yes. 45 minutes. Yes. I owned a house in berkley up until a couple years ago - so I used to go there. I actually work in Auburn Hills, which seems like a crazy commute - but it's not so bad (it's all relative I guess). So swinging through Berkley once a month is pretty doable - and they do a good job there. It was a lot easier to justify when I could walk over to the b-front for a beer or five afterwords, but I still like going there.
I profess support for Drumpf online because I don't want his storm troopers coming for me when they have their Night of the Long Knives after the election.
I liked it and will go back. It is the first haircut I've had since I moved back that I wasn't immediately pissed with and the guy who cut my hair reminded me of Mac from IASIP. I was definitely the only patron in slacks, a button down and wingtips, but that's not unexpected on a Tuesday late morning. How the fuck do you get to Auburn Hills from Brighton in 45 minutes?
The awkward small talk is even worse at the beginning. Bartenders do a better job recognizing when you do and don't want to fraternize with them. Barbers I've found always go for it no matter what. If it's someone new or that I don't know well, I just want my haircut in silence.
Their website is infuriating. How much do they charge? Yeah, my guy today didn't push it, but he was friendly enough.
That's not bad. I was happy to pay $20 + tip, but getting out for a smooth $20 would be awfully nice.
It's basically a straight shot on 59, so it's traffic dependent. I think the worst it's ever been is an hour in shitty weather. But in general, it moves along pretty well.
Ginger beer (still non-alcoholic, but unlike ginger ale, it is actually fermented) is starting to become pretty popular. Judging by your description of the old timey stuff, I bet they are pretty similar. Most grocery stores seem to carry a few different varieties these days.
quit making me thirsty. i just want to golf today, but these fuckers havent approved my membership yet.
This seems to be a west side problem. Every chain place is basically ex-strippers that force me into conversation about me so that they can compare my life to their shitty boyfriends. At least I've found at Jude's that they don't mess up the haircut while painfully talking to me
Lady Jane's in Novi is solid. 16 bucks for good cut, shampoo and neck shave. Been going there long enough to not have the awkward conversations anymore.
I do not get laid by my hair stylists. These comparisons are to their CURRENT boyfriends which is even more cringeworthy.
Strippers and stylist are one in the same: Get tattoos. Graduate HS/GED. Get knocked up by dbag bf. Go to cosmetology school
