Anyone else watch this last night? Based upon a comic. I enjoyed it. A lot of the usual elements of a procedural, but I've read the comic and know there is a lot of great source material to draw from outside that element. Tom Ellis is also fantastic in the lead role. Female lead is rather bland, though.
I recorded and watched this last night. Was very pleasantly surprised. Will definitely watch next week. I can tell there's going to be a ton of hot chicks on this show too so that won't hurt.
I enjoyed the episode tonight too. Can't tell if I'll keep liking it or if it will get old before too long but so far so good.
That's where I am. If this is just a police procedural with him trying to figure out (have sex with) the cop then I'm not sure if I can stick with it. But maybe it'll be good in that format.
Anyone still watching? The latest episode was the best yet imo. Several interesting storylines. Definitely a unique show.
Watched the first two and started the third at the gym yesterday. Seems not bad. The chick cop is a rocket.
I love this show so far. Tom Ellis plays the character so well. Lauren German is alright, but I'm used to her from Hawaii Five-0 and Chicago Fire. It doesn't seem like she ever lasts on a show very long.
Just watched last night's episode. Another damn good one. The storylines are getting better and more interesting. I'm all in. Fuckers better pick it up for a second season.
Decided to look up how their ratings are going. http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/2016/02/09/fox-renewcancel-standings-week-20-2015-16/
Still enjoyed the episode, but, damn, it was almost painful how badly they were beating us over the head with the foreshadowing the ex husband is dirty during that hour up until the 'reveal.'
I feel like Lucifer. I'm falling in love more and more with Decker every episode. I too want to have all the sex with her.
That chick has been hot fire for a long time. I sat through one of those turrible Hostel movies solely for her. Also enjoyed her on Happytown before it got cancelled.
Lucifer's therapist was good on Boss (at least the sex scenes in the first few episodes) Interested in seeing where it goes with the dirty cop/ex husband guy trying to keep the mom cop close
Monday's episode was my favorite so far. When does Lucifer figure out Detective Douche is the Palmetto killer?
I'm not sure but I do know that when she finds out, it will drive her into Lucifer's arms. Oh boy...I can't wait for that network TV make out session.
So can Lucifer do superpower shit on the show? I saw him lift the fat dude up by his throat. But I know he acts like he is mortal and can be wounded or killed.
So far they've shown he has super strength and that mind trick to get people to reveal their desires. He is losing his immortality though. I think they created a plot hole in the last episode. In the pilot, Lucifer wouldn't let that record producer die because he wouldn't be punished in hell. But then they referenced the cop going to hell for 30 seconds and how awful it was.
He also flashes to a more typical, fire-y looking devil when he gets super pissed at people and it scares the shit out of them. One dude jumped off the top of a building because of it and another they put in the loony bin because he went crazy picturing mental images of it. The one thing I wish they hadn't done is have Lucifer seemingly be mortal now as Don Brodka mentioned. I wished that he was still immortal and just took bullets like nothing and then destroyed people/freaked them out because of it. I'm not exactly sure why they decided to go the opposite way with it. They still haven't said, nor does it seem like Lucifer knows why he is all of a sudden mortal now.
That could be it but they've never really made it seem like there's any known reason yet. Even his brother was surprised to hear it when Lucifer told him.
I think it's the development of a connection with a human. He was out of hell for 5 years and remained immortal until he caught feelings for Chloe. I think we'll also find out she's not fully human, hence why she can resist his mental tricks. My guess is that her mother may be an angel. That said, even if he dies and returns to hell, what is stopping him from coming right back to Earth. They've established he's been making deals on Earth for centuries. Unrelated to Lucifer, but I think there is an excellent chance Tom Ellis plays Doctor Who at some point.
I love it because the comic Lucifer is based on the Lucifer from Paradise Lost and not the one from the bible. IMO that Lucifer fit the tragic hero motif to a T. Apparently in the comic sending Lucifer to hell was a reward and not a punishment. I have not read the comics (I have them) so IDK if that's true.

Another good episode tonight. They're developing the mortal/immortal story line nicely. Props to Don Brodka for calling this weeks ago. He's definitely on to something imo...
Also, Decker has obviously questioned some of Lucifer's abilities in the past. Now that Dectective Douche has experienced something similar it will be interesting to hopefully hear those conversations.
I still really like the show and look forward to the 2nd season, but... It's bullshit that they still have Decker and Det. Douche acting like they don't believe he's actually the devil or some sort of higher being. I mean in the last ep alone Decker saw another cop shoot at Lucifer and he disappeared. She also saw him get shot and 2 mins later get up and punch Malcolm. She just shrugged off both instances. Yet next time Lucifer says "I've told you I'm the devil!!" She'll be all, "Whatever you say Lucifer".
Season premier episode was tonight. Spoiler Was happy to see it back on. Lots more questions than answers but that's to be expected as they set up the storylines for the season. Biggest question left over from last season even is why Lucifer is seemingly mortal when Decker is around. Gonna be interesting to see why "mom" came to earth.
