The Tigers really do have a stranglehold on the middle aged woman who doesn't watch sports demographic, particularly on opening day. The Lions could win the next 11 superbowls and I don't think I would hear a peep out of these women, but they are going to walk around the office asking everyone who their Tiger is today. Not sure I'll ever understand it.
He went to high school and is family friends with one of my buddy's ex-wives. I used to always tease him and say things like 'so an MLB All-Star popped your old lady's cherry.' He would understandably get pretty irritated. Then she turned out to be a bigger cunt than we all thought an is now an ex-wife.
Same thing for me yesterday. I walked in wearing a Cubs shirt and was promptly and repeatedly harassed. I'm like...bros, it's baseball. Baseball.
Went to a Korean place in Novi a couple weeks ago called Bi Bim Bap and it was fantastic. My Korean wife thought it was the best Korean she's had outside of Koreatown in LA. There are also a handful of really good Korean places in Ann Arbor, but I think this place has them beat. If you like Korea food, check it out. She got the kobe barbecue and I got bi bim bop. The Vietnamese place in Novi - Pho Lucky - wasn't my favorite. The pho my wife got was very good, the summer rolls we shared were pretty good, and my chicken and rice dish was horrid. I'd go for the pho, if you like pho.
Will definitely check that out. Have you been to the sushi restaurant in one world market yet? That's the best sushi in metro detroit, along with their sister restaurant Noble fish in Clawson, IMO. Great for take-out.
Any of you guys follow ChowDownDetroit on instagram? Its food porn but I use it for restaurant recommendations. He's visited a couple of those places you guys just mentioned.
Well, the freshman 15 girls are out jogging at UM again, must officially be spring. Think we are finally set temperature wise for no more snow. On the Korean kick, check out Tomuken in Ann Arbor, get all the apps while getting twisted on Soju.
My wife actually said, "I think the quality of the meat was higher than what I've had at the all you can eat places." I assure you they gave her plenty of meat to grill. My bi bim bop was too much for me to finish on top of the dumplings, so we did pretty good.
Damn fine day here in metro Detroit. A couple playoff victories and this might end up being the best day of the year.
Walked the trails at Stoney Creek metropark for a couple hours and got a sunburn. Glorious fuckin' day
Feels like mid-July out. Picking up 10,000 sticks in the backyard and drinking Moscow mules, damn fine day in the mitten is right.
Watched some youth soccer out in Green Oaks, played outside around the home with the boy, fucked around in the garage, etc. Lovely weekend.
Sounds erotic. I've caught up on sleep. Drinking some wine with a straw. Gonna grill some steak, shrimp and veggies soon.
Doing a reverse sear with some strips tonight. Laquored up the outdoor furniture, put up a bunch of solar lights. There's some great stuff about living in the South, but the appreciation for the thaw and summer months in Michigan is unmatched. Probably never leaving this state permanently again.
Those Blizzards are the cats pajamas. The wait where I live is always unreal. Fucking baseball and softball teams.. Punks.
Thai Basil in Novi and Livonia is the spot for Thai food. Fountain Walk in Novi has been bumping lately, place had a ghost town feel 4-5 years ago.
I have to be in Grand Rapids on 6/22. What is there, other than Applebee's? Probably going to stay near the airport.
Airport is way out, basically just your typical highway food and restaurants there. Sundance Grille for breakfast on 28th if you're determined to be a cheap bastard and stay out in Kentwood. Just nothing too memorable out that way. Cascade Roadhouse reopened, but I haven't been. That's relatively close.
Where should I stay? I'm assuming the place I'm heading is downtown (we have t nailed that down yet) what's there?
My local counsel is in Kalamazoo, should I push to host there? Grand Rapids has a direct flight and one of the other firms is located there, so that's why I'm suggesting there.
I haven't lived full time in GR in 3 years, but if you have the option to stay downtown, absolutely do it. Hit up some breweries, grab the best hot dog in the World at Jonny B'z and a drink at Winchester after, go through East town and laugh at the hipsters, fall in the river like a drunk tourist and push over the homeless people down by the Ford Museum. Good times everywhere. But yes, on a serious note, downtown GR is a good place, out by the airport is not and someone else would have to vouch for Kzoo. Haven't spent a ton of time there.
Brewery Vivant also in east town. Grove and Greenwell are great restaurants in that same area. Founders obviously downtown. In Kzoo there's Bells which is dope. So many great options in GR though, just don't stay by the airport it sucks like everyone else said. Oh and Wolfgangs for breakfast if you're around that time downtown.
I don't know what these clowns are talking about. You're all set by the airport. You've got McDonald's, Smokey Bones, Tim Hortons, Steak and Shake, Cheddar's and many more options. If you absolutely are staying out by the airport though, my two best options for you ate drinks at Cascade Sports Bar and pizza at JT's pizza, both towards the eastern end of 28th st.
Nostalgia, used to go there constantly with my ex, even bought my dog at the pet store there. It was slow at the time, but it was cool.
Many dogs are slow. If you mean he runs slow, get a greyhound. If you mean he's dumb, get a Shepherd.
Legit lol, I meant Fountain Walk, but thanks anyway. That said, he is puppy mill dumb, so you're not far off.
Had Loui's last night in Hazel Park. Great fucking pizza. Really fucking good. However, inside the restaurant. It was like a halfway house for white trash. And it was packed. That part of Hazel Park is garbage. Highly recommend though. Bit pricey. But well worth it IMO.
Love Alibi and Green Lantern is great. This was better than Buddy's IMO. And I've gone to the original. May just be preference though.
It's a pretty terrible one down by East Paris, but they used to have a table to table magician on Saturdays!
