Cardiff could still survive even with the loss of 12 points. It isn't automatic that they go down right?
Tan and the board has fucked that club. Can't make transfers, possible administration, the changing from blue shirts to red and back to blue. Administration would put them in 19th, not as bad as I thought bug a tough hole.
Think I saw Bolton is facing administration as well, of course they are already well likely to be relegated.
user Doug's favorite English football team Burnley beat Championship leaders Hull City today to go to third, only separated from league leaders Hull and Boro by one point (Hull and Boro tied for points, only goal differential separates them)
Lol glad you like them- they were a last minute add in order, they were too good to pass up. Took me a minute to figure out why I was tagged in a soccer thread
Haven't looked at League One results in awhile but looked today to see who might be coming to the Championship next season. Wigan look set to earn promotion unfortunately, but what stood out to me is how close Blackpool are to dropping to League Two. They aren't bottom 4 right now but are damn close and have played 2 more matches than the teams behind them. I guess I just have a soft spot for that shit team because they were in the EPL when I really started to follow it more closely.
I get stockholm syndrome with shit premier league teams. Wanted Blackburn, Bolton and Wigan to go down for years and now I miss them and want them back up. I'll be damned if we all don't have a few good memories of scoring four on a rain soaked rugby pitch with wind howling uncontrollably.
You'll never get rid of us. Plus it seems like Bolton will be in League One of lower for the next few years at least.
There is some truly shit ownership in the Football League. I enjoyed Blackpool's year in the Prem but since then, the Oystons have pocketed every cent from their parachute payments and let their club fall into absolute disrepair. I don't see a way back for them unless they go the way of Pompey and allow a supporters trust to purchase a majority share. Bolton is nearly 200m in debt so they're likely fucked as well. They're a near certainty to be in League One. Burton Albion will be fun to watch in the Championship and hopefully Pompey can earn its way back into League One through the playoffs. I love their fan base. They, like Blackpool, deserve so much better.
Was following Charlton on Twitter and they get a late winner. Check scores and see Fulham for a late winner too. Going to be tough for them to stay up now. Draw would have been ideal between Fulham and Dons.
Can't wait for full time here. Just realized it's win and you're in for Burnley today. Championship must've borrowed the Prem writers for this last week. Brighton hosts Boro on Saturday for the other auto-promotion spot.
Matchday 46. Championship and League 2 play today. Championship kicks off at 730am eastern. League 2 kicks at 1000am eastern. Everything to play for in the Championship. Boro hosting Brighton in the fight for the final automatic promotion spot. Boro needs only a draw to confirm promotion. Both can still win the title if Burnley slips up at already relegated Charlton. All 3 relegation spots have already been confirmed. Derby and Hull can flip flop playoff places In league 2; Champions Northampton have run away with the league. The battle for the 2 remaining auto promotion spot with Accrington (84pts +26GD), Oxdford United (83pts +40GD), and Bristol Rovers (82pts +30GD) battling it out. All 3 are at home on the final day. Accrington hosts 19th placed Stevenage, Oxford hosts 10th placed Wycombe, and Bristol hosts relegated Dagenham and Redbridge. Tommorrow at 730am eastern in League 1; Wigan have already secured promotion and look set to win the title (baring a loss and a 20 goal swing). They host playing chasing Barnsley. 2nd placed Burton Albion have a 3 point and +3 GD lead on 3rd place Walsal for the other promotion spot. BA travels to relegated Doncaster while Walsall goes to Port Vale. One relegation spot left. Blackpool need to win at Peterbrough and have Fleetwood lost to Crewe to avoid the drop.
Things are spicing up in the race for 2nd. Not surprisingly they have the best referee in all the land in the middle for this important fixture, Mike Dean. Not that I needed to drop his name for you to know who I was referring to.
And as soon as I say that, Mike Dean breaks out a red card. He just went full on celebrity ref and Stephens is sent off. Gaston Ramirez's leg is gashed as fuck. That is going to take a lot of the excitement out of this 2nd half.
Oh it's definitely a red, no question. Thank goodness they had a ref of Mike Dean's quality in there to take control of the situation.
