My entire point. Why cast a ballot for someone you don't believe in at all "to prevent the opponent from taking office" when you live in a state that hasn't gone GOP in 30 years and won't for another 30? That is the ultimate in the mentality of politics as a team sport.
In an average election, I may agree, but I find Trump's rhetoric so aggressively unamerican that doing my part to hopefully give his opponent a record setting margin of victory sends a different message than just having him lose would. I want the Republican Party to be thoroughly discouraged from running a candidate like him ever again.
