it's not a rap blog so they typically are going to review albums that are already getting a fair amount of hype
That's a good point Been listening to Strange Wilds today. I love how Sub Pop uploads so much music to their YouTube page
they're trying to branch out a bit more so they can try and be tastemakers across all genres of music
Try albumof theyear.org. You can sort back a few years by genre. I don't like any rating system or site personally, but it's at the very least a good starting point imo.
In 2010 Natural Child released a sweet cassette called Body Switchers via Infinity Cat Today they released it on vinyl for the first time. Hooray for 4/20
Not sure what this thread's feelings on Sturgill Simpson are but even if you just "hate country" give A Sailor's Guide to Earth a listen.
White Denim coming next Wednesday, and Unknown Mortal Orchestra 8 days later. Probably 2 of the top 10 bands I desperately wanna see. Hopefully White Denim doesn't only play their new album. Haven't been able to get into it....yet.
Dylan Leblanc was supposed to but they sent him home after the 1st show. Belle Adair finished his leg of the tour. Hell, they just had to call up a few of their members because Matt and Reed were already playing with Dylan Leblanc.
I think my radiohead fandom peaked with in rainbows. Everything since then just hasn't really done much for me.
the new Boxer Rebellion is legit city very much love it also recommend the new Bootstraps LP - "Homage" which is a bunch of covers - his version of Whitney Houston's "I Wanna Dance With Somebody": also - "Earned It" (The Weeknd)
Man that running record is so fucking good... New K9 Sniffies LP is HOT Johnny Ill band is playing some shows, hopefully recording new tunes. Wow
Concerts lined up for me: Tokyo Police Club with We Were Promised Jetpacks Lucius Tegan and Sara How are Tegan and Sara live?
Talk shows are playing some good music this week. The National was on the Late Show last night and Tegan and Sara will be on Fallon tonight.
Saw Manchester Orchestra over the weekend and fell madly in love with them all over again. Been looping their stuff on youtube for the past couple days, and this track pops up. Never heard it before, apparently hidden on one of their EPs, not on Spotify, but it's just so goood.
Bear vs. Shark is getting back together. Still hate reunions but tix to theirs are like 15 bucks and they didn't do some ridiculous going away show at a huge arena that netted them millions on the way out eithet. Or make a 6lp live album, or commission a movie, etc.
