I thought they weren't adding any new ones. Maybe it's a prologue? I want there to be one since I'm one of the few who like the iron born.
I think Damphair is suppose to be dead already. He was scheduled to be in the prologue for maybe DwD but then it got expanded into 4 or so chapters and they took it out. Kingsmoot was suppose to be told through his eyes
Dancing Jul. 31st, 2010 at 1:22 PM No, this is not the promised post about Charles Dance. Later. Just kicked Aeron Damphair's scraggly arse out of DANCE WITH DRAGONS. He only had the only chapter, and it will work better early in the next book than late in this one. (That's how it looks to me today, anyway. I reserve the right to change my mind). So DANCE has gotten a smidge shorter. But is still not done. The good news is that I seem to have written more than a hundred pages of THE WINDS OF WINTER already. Location:home
But you have other kingsmoot chapters. Originally it was only him. Completely told by him and only him.
What a troll... @GRRMspeaking: In the Wind http://t.co/x4Ttmnezqt https://twitter.com/grrmspeaking/status/623995929813585920
Is it possible he's getting close to finishing and foreshadowing that? No? Ok, I'll go punch myself in the testes now.
Yes, it's definitely possible... https://www.reddit.com/r/asoiaf/comments/3da74j/no_spoilers_george_rr_martin_meeting_with_his/
Slevo 983 points 1 month ago His publishers are just gonna start beating him with copies of the Harry Potter books while yelling "ROWLING SENDS HER REGARDS!!!
This all makes you really respect Rowling lol. It's a completely different level of writing, but holy shit she sat in her fucking coffee shop in Scotland and wrote the fucking series like an author is supposed to.
So the new chapter came out yesterday, a touched up version of something he read at a con a few years ago. Are we talking spoilers ITT? There's a pretty interesting tidbit I'd like to discuss. http://www.georgerrmartin.com/excerpt-from-the-winds-of-winter/
I had a hard time giving a shit given the characters involved may not matter at all anymore. Feel free to discuss in detail in spoilers IMO.
I don't think book Dorne is going to go the same as show Dorne and just shit the bed all over the place. I think the fAegon/Dany stuff with Dorne can get really interesting especially with fAegon already being in Westeros.
The big reveal in the Arianne chapter was that Jon Con took Storm's End. Last we heard of Storm's End is that Loras got maimed and melted taking it for the crown.
Well, yeah. I think it will definitely be different from the show, which is why I said may. But I think it's now much more likely that they are a very minor player in the grand scheme of things as opposed to a major snake lying in the grass waiting for its opportunity to strike.
Well... Spoiler Connington may have taken Storm's End. I think there was some fuckery going on there. They could be trying to take Arienne hostage to leverage Dorne to fAegon rather than Dany.
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1VuqHngBpOZ1p0jqkD7xRTCHExMFwBa8qE7VCLsKXzxU/mobilebasic?pli=1 Overview of the Damphair chapter George read. Valyrian Steel Armor is p badass. I wonder how reliable these visions are. Euron on the Iron Throne is pretty heavy handed but that would mean lots of shit going down. Defeating the Faith Militant, the Lannisters, and the Tyrells on land. Possible with Dany but she's all independent strong woman who don't need no Crow's Eye.
If the Wall comes down and the Others and Wights actually start wrecking shit in the Seven Kingdoms, I could see multiple people claiming the Iron Throne in the chaos, but it ultimately not mattering. That's why the theories around who'll sit the Iron Throne at the end of the books are the least interesting to me. I don't think it's going to matter because Westeros won't even be recognizable.
You seem to believe anyone south of moat caitlin will care about the others. If they make it to KL then like 70% of westeros is dead and joined the wight army, too many to stop imo. Honestly I don't see them leaving the North. Would make bastardbowl pointless if they retake Winterfell and then get overrun by the dead.
I think it would be a free for all. Some houses marching north and abandoning their castles, some joining the crown to defend against Dany/Aegon, some sitting home, some disobeying their liege lords, etc... just chaos.
No one is marching north if KL is being invaded. Speaking of which, the fuck are the Dothraki going to do in Westeros? Settle down and start their own houses? They're a bunch of nomadic savages whose culture is based on raiding and raping. No Lord in the Seven Kingdoms is going to accept them or their queen. I want Dany to fail so goddamn hard. Team Euron.
Im buying into the theory that Euron is trying to bring on the apocalypse. Dude is gonna get a dragon, and I think he brings down the wall with the horn Sam has in old town (very speculative, but it seems like he has some end game importance)
I think he takes the iron throne when no one is looking. When they all take off to fight the others he shows up and takes it.
It'll be interesting to see if Stannis dies before Tommen in the books, because that power vacuum would be really interesting. Of course, Stannis becoming the rightful heir a second time would be really interesting too.
Whenever, if ever this gets finished....the chapters I'm looking forward to the most are Davos on Skagos looking for Rickon. God knows what shit is going on there. Remember something about Unicorns on Skagos and cannibalism
