Portugal is home to one or the biggest hooligan assholes in the game today. The man responsible for getting the USMNT out of the World Cup group stage, Pepe.
I mean I'd love to have Ronaldo back for a couple seasons but dear lord not at anywhere near that price.
Just because they can afford to overpay doesn't mean I'd want them to. Could buy 2-4 quality players for that price. Edit: Maybe not with the new inflated tv deal prices but my point still stands.
United could buy him and then another 2-4 players if they want though. I just don't get why fans would care. I wish Arsenal would overpay for more players. fuck it, not my money.
I mean I fully expect United to spend 150+ mil in the summer window. As DuckintheDesert said in the previous post, 100 mil for a 31 year old is insane imo, even if it's Cristiano Ronaldo. I'd rather spend 100 mil on Griezmann or Muller.
For whatever reason, Mourinho said yesterday that he wouldn't sign any Portuguese players. Him backing out of that statement would be classic Jose so who knows.
he lead the Champions League in scoring for the 4th year in a row and is the favorite to win the Balon D'or, also for the 4th time
Once a player gets into his thirties, it's just a crap shoot. Plus there probably isn't a player with more mileage on him at his age in the world. He's played in the Champions League ever year since he was a teenager and never gets any kind of extended rest. And speed is usually the first thing to go and that is one of his most important qualities.
His cloned son will be ready to take up the mantle by the time the original has outlived his usefulness.
I do believe that his son is an American citizen. Should have called him up for the Copa to get him cap tied IMO.
Absolutely. It's the transfer that will be the issue because he'll either leave on a free to MLS or China or just retire.
A 2/3 year extension is being worked on and is expected to be signed before the end of the summer. Things can change but it's looking increasingly likely that he finishes his career (or at least the European portion) in Madrid.
I don't think the rest of Serie A combined has 90 million dollars or pounds to spend on transfers. Juve could do a Bayern or PSG and pretty much buy the best players from any teams that could potentially challenge them for the title. But I imagine their fans are bored by easily winning Serie A by now and want the Champions League so I'd hold on to him as well.
Am I the only one that thinks $78m for Eden Hazard is a little high? Especially after his horrible year?
I think the only realistic destination he would go to is PSG and their initial lowball offer for him would be in that ballpark. David Luiz was coming off a terrible year and he went for not much less.
If money is no object like at a few clubs then I'd say Ronaldo is worth it. Zlatan is thriving at 34, don't see any reason why Ronaldo can't do the same.
Curious if people view messi worth that sort of money. A couple of years ago I could see it, but he seems to have lost a step or two in recent years. Granted, his passing game has become superb. He could basically be plugged in as a Xavi-type for years to come, but that would detract from his value. Don't know if Neymar has shown enough yet to be valued that highly
Messi hasn't really lost much as a finisher and has drastically improved his passing game, nothing like Xavi
what the fuck have you been watching? he scored 58 goals in 57 appearances last season and 41 in 49 this season after missing significant time.
Maybe I'm still just bummed as fuck with how the season ended. I don't think he's at that stage yet, just think it will be in his future down the road. That said, I've never seen him disappear from games like he did this year, and that's even with teams having to worry about Neymar and Suarez. He looked fairly content to chill out in the midfield and not take defenders on like he used to. But again, I'm probably in agro mode
La Liga is a top heavy league. I think the EPL would wear him down more. And wasn't he injured this year a little? I would rather spend 200 on Neymar than 100 on Ronaldo.
Ronaldo's last season at United which was a couple years before his peak kind of lessens that argument. You could argue that the mid table teams are better but there is just no way to prove that. The only time they've gotten that chance, both Southampton and West Ham didn't get out of the qualifiers for the Europa League. Which Premier League homers will ultimately respond with, they played their B teams because they want to focus on the Premier League. It's an argument that will always go in circles.
Dortmund must feel like Jerry Maguire when all of his clients decided to leave him. Which makes Reus Rod Tidwell. And Pulisic is Jonathan Lipnicki.
Ibra offered kingship if he signs for 4th tier German side. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...en-signs-football-team-Manchester-United.html
Where does everyone think James Rodriguez ends up? I don't see him staying at real but I am not sure how many clubs can afford him
