Holy shit my buddy was in NYC and when I excitedly told him about this he said "Wow tickets are that much, I sat front center for $10, go check my Facebook". Mother fucker won the lotto while he was there. Was Sunday so he didn't get to see LMM
dblplay1212 SugarShaun still no confirmation email on those tickets so don't get your hopes up too too high maybe? it took them six hours to send my confirmation for my first one but we're past that now for this and they're not in my account edit: my credit card has been charged for neither but I have my march tickets already confirmed. ticketmaster what's your fucking deal man

Got tickets 2/15/17 in Orchestra obstructed view for face. Never been to Chicago but Valentines Day in Chicago going to see a musical should go over pretty well. So excited to see this
Satisfied is the song that has been stuck in my head the most the last couple of days, I only listened to it for the first time like 10 days ago and haven't really listened to much else since.
Take a break has been stuck in my head all day, it's pretty frustrating because it's probably my least favorite song
Book is pretty cool so far. Kind of technical and a lot goes over my head about stage plays and stuff, but im liking it. knocked out 3/4ths of it today
I just learned that Dear Theodosia ended up being the First Lady of South Carolina and died before she was thirty when she disappeared at sea. I'm blown away. Another interesting fact is that John Lauren's father was imprisoned in the Tower of London and was the prisoner exchanged for General Cornwallis. And Theodosia (the mother) was ten years older than Burr and already had 5 children with that British officer. Not really worth waiting for IMO.
Forgot to report back. The book was cool, but you have to be an uber Hamilton fanboy/nerd to like it. It was pretty interesting, and a good companion to the musical, but as a book by itself it was just ok. It's more about how the musical came to be than really about Hamilton. It kind of loosely tries to compare Miranda and Hamilton's life, which is a little eye rolly, but not too bad. It gives a good behind the scenes thought process to how things came together. It definitely pointed out some things Ive missed listening to it and has given me a better understanding and appreciation of a show that I haven't seen lol. But a lot of the technical theater stuff and musical theater history went way over my head. However, it did make me want to read the Hamilton Biography by Ron Chernow which is what inspired Miranda to start Hamilton. It's long AF but really really good. Learned alot like what JonathanCoachman just said about Theodosia.
I've found so many connections with characters in the musical and South Carolina. In Columbia, one of the main roads in the downtown area is called Huger St. It's a huge faux pas to pronounce it in a bastardized English way and is always pronounced the French way (You-Gee) Turns out that Huger was a huge fanboy of The Marquis and while as a medical student in Austria where Lafayette was imprisoned during the French Revolution, Huger and Angelica Schuyler of all people led a failed attempt to break him out. That was a huge "holy shit" moment for me.
Yeah, that guy that Angelica married ended up being in the English Parliament after the war. Where Eliza didnt care much about the politics, Angelica was very involved and did a lot of activism over seas. Also a minor miracle that Lafayette survived the French Rev and Napoleonic wars.
I wonder if she ever hung out with John & Abigail Adams in London when they were all there in what was it? 85?
I cant remember Adams, but I know she and the kids stayed in Paris for a the first few years. She hung out with Ben Franklin, Lafayette , and Thomas Jefferson (rumored to be super duper thirsty for her). She had a similar pen pal relationship w TJ she did with Hamilton
For anyone that hasn't seen this scene from the John Adams HBO miniseries it's definitely worth a watch.
After reading a bunch of early american history lately I had an epiphany that John Adams was that era's Ted Cruz. He has his set of believes and was rigid as fuck. No one like him and no one liked having to work with him. Rubbed everyone the wrong way. Only difference is people actually respected John Adams.
Abigail was really the one pulling the strings with John. When they were seperated (which was almost half their marriage) he was a reckless fool. If they were alive today, Abigail would have been more likely to be President. She was the Lucille Bluth of the Adams' clan.
Came upon this earlier this week. Pretty interesting series of videos. If you like In the Heights, check them out. I'm pretty sure this is the same type of documentary they're creating for Hamilton, which will air sometime in the fall (I think October).
Looking to book a trip the week after Christmas, 26-30th, unsure on final dates, but targeting Chicago or NY to get the wife Hamilton tix. Looks like NY is more expensive on the open market, but neither have many ticket options. Any recs for either place, or is stubhub/seatgeek the only avenue?
You could roll the dice and enter their lotto they do each day for front row seats for I think $10. Wednesday's lotto is in person (other days are online) and cash only. I have a friend who won those in NYC

Found some seats in late december from the venue itself, row C on the aisle, $600 each.... Seems like I'm not going to get a better deal than that right? I feel like I should just buy them, my wife is DYING to go
I would check the resale sites and see. I'm going 2/15. Flying in the day before and will spend Valentines Day there, Hamilton in the afternoon on the 15th and the evening for whatever then fly home the 16th. Figured with cost of parking and gas (plus having to drive there in February) that was best option
ohhaithur what are tickets going for now? Wife came up with an idea that we could do an NYC trip for the holidays and Hamilton could be her gift and Nike Bespokes could be mine. That's flat out dirty for her to even suggest but I don't think I can pass it up. Just curious how bad these tickets are going to set me back. Don't care what night but don't want something on the back row. I want to be able to see what's going on.
they're pretty pricey but less than before. about $600 each for anything decent that week. get the wednesday mid-day one for sure
You said late Decemeber so I hopped on Stubhub. NYE evening show you can get in for $350/each, Mezz Left Center $440/each, Dress Circle Center (row C) for $525/each. So you can get in for cheaper. They won't be the seats you were looking at but you can get good seats for under that still
