The dragons may be able to inflict huge damage, but the Walkers are going to cause some dragon death(s), throwing their plans in a tailspin until Sam arms the people of the Seven Kingdoms with obsidian weapons.
If the dragons could just fly up there and mow down the whole undead army there would be about 10000 wasted pages in this series.
This was an interesting pickup. I wonder if these orbs/lenses have a role of some sort. https://www.yahoo.com/style/eye-opening-detail-last-night-191444928.html
Doing a rewatch and god damn who got talked into putting the candles in wildfire. They need a raise or something
They are coming from Slaver's Bay so it isn't on the most western part Essos. It's in South Central Essos.
yeah, not complaining, but that was a little much taking a pretty big gamble there, sparks fly off candles all the time too
Also, why was the plan to lead Lancel down into the secret cavern with the wildfire cache? Why trust a little kid to hamstring Lancel when it could very possibly go wrong? Obviously it was to cause tension and build up to the explosion, but it seems dumb in retrospect.
Feel worst for Wylla. Her good name dragged through the mud all these years as though she were some sort of salacious sally
prediction: season 7 will focus mainly in kings landing. the wall wouldn't fall until later in the season. season 8 is a united kingdom versus the white walkers. wild prediction: to forge lightbringer, jon will have to kill ghost. i have no idea what makes that happen though - maybe the night king worgs into him or something. it keeps with the show's treatment of the direwolves (in that they all die), it'll save on CGI costs (already we'll have dragons and zombies and a huge battle), and it'll hit some emotional chords while also making you feel like jon is vulnerable. so i think it'll happen before he gets a dragon. and there (likely) needs to be some sort of sacrifice for lightbringer and i don't think jon would kill one of his sisters or dany or any major character/someone that he loves. he loves ghost but i could see the show killing a direwolf quicker than the show killing arya.
Fantastic. Even at traveling 200 miles a week thats a pretty long time. We discussed earlier the possibility of Sansa betraying Jon, him executing her and forging Lightbringer in the process.
I think D&D use what Bran saw at the ToJ as a catalyst for him using flashbacks to explore the character of Rhaegar and his relationship with Lyanna, up until the point it is revealed Jon is a legitimate Targaryen and true heir to the throne. As I said earlier, showfags are confused enough without the father being outright revealed. I think they spend some time next season establishing Rhaegar, which will increase the impact of the reveal. I think one of the reasons D&D want to reduce the number of episodes for the final stretch is so they have more money to spend on CGI for a run that is certainly going to be the most expensive of the series by far.
If lightbringer ends up being a thing, he's gonna have to forge it by killing something/someone more conflicting than an animal. I mean I like dogs as much as anyone, but that's not much of a sacrifice at all compared to Azor killing his wife. (And iirc he already killed a lion with it on his second attempt and that failed)
isn't the prophecy that azor ahai reborn will pull lightbringer from the fire? he doesn't need to forge it himself.
I feel sorry for the LF fans who think he's going to matter for anything more than part of next season. You think his fucking chopper is going to be hovering around when they're fighting the Night's King? "hurr durr LF so smart he's playing them like pawns" there's going to be one misstep from him in episode like 2 or 3 next season, Sansa will learn what's up and LF will die a quick, easy death a few episodes after that. there's not enough time left for some intricate multiple-season arc where he's revealed as the big bad(this wasn't his role anyway). we will continue to thin the ranks and the stories in season 7 because they're going to have 6-8 episodes to do the song of ice and fire and that will goddamn well not involve some sniveling little weasel pedo creeping around behind the scenes. LF will die next year and easier than the Blackfish did. let your tears flow now.
Not sure why people are thinking Cersei and LF are gone so quickly. There HAS to be some sort of shock to the story. I highly doubt Jaime deals with Cersei as fast as everyone is thinking. I'd be willing to bet she has him imprisoned or kicked out of KL only for him to team up with the hound to deal with zombie mountain. And then he deal with Cersei. But that isn't going to happen quickly. LF also has to have one more play. And keep in mind Euron is still around as well.
He could try and get support from his allies to help Euron get the Iron Throne from Cersei, but that's not at all important to Jon so he may try and get Sansa to do it.
So I was thinking last night about what main characters/somewhat important characters that we did not see in the final two episodes. The list is pretty small. Even thinking about the books, we went entire books without chapters or references to much bigger characters. They are doing a great job of keeping the story connected compared to the books. Time travel is probably the biggest key. Can anyone think of anyone else... Euron Brienne The Hound Wolves Jorah Gendry Jaqen H'ghar
