As in its not going to be 6-7 episode per season? I thought HBO has already confirmed 7 episodes for season 7. Don't see why season 8 would have significantly more or less episodes than 7; maybe +/- 1 episode. Also, FWIW, I don't expect the episodes to be any longer than they have been, since D&D have said they intended the total series to run 70-75 hours. I'm assume we're at or around 60, which would leave up to 15 hours to go. Two seven episode seasons at one hour each is 14 hours and would get us to 74. At this point, as long as we don't get any 49/50 minute episodes, I'll be cool with it.

I'd be happy to be wrong, and all I'm going by is what was been publicly confirmed by HBO or commented on by the show-runners (D&D). When you say director, do you mean producers or show-runners? The director changes episode by episode.
