If he can light it up in actual league play and win the young player of the year award then I don't see why not. They are of a similar build, both taller than most in that position. Life is nothing without dreams, after all.
Liverpool have made a move for Georginio Wijnaldum, the Newcastle United midfielder, and are hoping a fee can be agreed this week. Big guns on Twitter reporting this.
He would slot well into the DM roll and also can play CB. Would be a great signing although he's a fucking weirdo. Couldn't see him costing a huge amount either.
I saw that mentioned which is why I asked lol. I'd be ok taking him but I hope they don't take under 20 so Lucas can be included
He's not a 27 million upgrade over Jordan Henderson. Everything I've read about him is that just like Hendo, he can play deeper, but not in a 2 man midfield.
Right. He'd be playing in the midfield 3 behind the striker. I would think this would be the end of Lallana and he'd slot in behind Coutinho, Firmino, and Mane in the pecking order.
Don't see how he gets into the starting 11 if you think he has to play the 10. Mane, Coutinho, and Firmino are all gonna be in the team and you have to think Sturridge or Origi will too.
Well then that would be fucking stupid to spend 25m on a backup when we could spend that on a deeper midfielder and a LB. Still think Klopp thinks he can play deeper.
I don't know, this seems like option B after Zielinski fell through and Zielinski didn't play in a 2 man midfield either. He fits in the starting 11 if we are going to play a 4-3-3 or a Diamond midfield but that drops other players out of the team.
With our lack of cover for Flannigan (or FB in general) I didn't figure we'd let that one happen. Still don't like the deal though especially if it's 27 + Lucas. Has to be 20 + Lucas.
Yea I'm not really sure. Last week the price was 25. This morning someone said 27 all cash, now telegraph saying Lucas and money.
Sorry. Should have allaborated. Flannigan can cover both flanks as a backup and if we aren't buying another LB then we'd need him way more than we'd need Lucas. Therefore Lucas is to me more expendable and would be my preferred choice to go in this deal. Plus sending Flannigan would be harder for local supporters (scouse) than an older Brazilian player.
