It's really hard to say that. Look at the transfers before the 13-14 season and we came within points of winning the league. Spurs and Leicester didn't make huge moves and ended up 1 and 3 last year. Hell you can go back to Klopp at Dortmund who blitzed the bundesliga without making any splashy transfers. Maybe these transfers won't work out, but maybe they will. They at least seem to make sense
Not to mention, without Europe we are somewhat limited to who we can get. At least we arent overpaying for England born players that don't fit and overall suck.
The 3 midfielders that are behind the striker tend to interchange. Coutinho starts on the left, Firmino in the middle, Lallana (and now Mane) on the right
A lot of this player swapping is assuming we play 4-2-3-1 all the time. We've played a lot of 4-3-3 so far this preseason. May not mean much but that formation may let more midfielders into the lineup (the ones they can also play wide anyway).
That's why I didn't say I was ticked or even disappointed, just "meh" IMO. I am fully on-board with not judging a transfer window quite yet, I know JK needs a few to build the squad that he wants.
Was watching Gini's goals last season on YouTube and just lol at the one he scored against us. Fuck Alberto Moreno so much. Can't believe we aren't replacing him.
[quote="Quick, post: 10639407, Can't believe we aren't replacing him.[/quote] Anfield HQ @AnfieldHQ 8m8 minutes ago Klopp still expects to pull off at least one more deal, with a left back high on his list of priorities. #lfc (David Maddock - Mirror)
he was an amazingly captain for psv and got lauded for his antics in the dutch national team, surprised to hear that
I'm still a big fan, it was just surprising to read that he's been acting that way. I think it's a great move for Liverpool, and the money was enough for Newcastle where they make a profit after the money we will pay PSV
as a psv fan its also nice to see some more money flowing to the club. no epl money in holland. hell one club in the epl earns more tv money than the entire dutch league
Gini is a good looking lad. Say what you want about our transfers but we have really improved in the looks department.
Lots of rumors of a LB at villa. Apparently was highly touted and had a season long injury last year.
I'm pretty weary of signing a player at a position where pace is at a premium that is coming off of a major knee injury. I know ACL injuries aren't what they used to be but that'd still give me pause.
People were speculating Max Meyer, but that doesn't make sense. I just want to find out where the idea came that we were discussing things with Shalke because I hope its true and I hope they were really talking about Johannes Geis.
very talented young left back. not that suited for a league with a lot of wingers though as he is better offensively than defensively. has one of the best crosses in the business.
Interested to hear... But what would your guys starting 11 be if we didn't make anymore signings? For me it's: ------------Sturridge------ Coutinho---Firmino----Mane -----Henderson---Can Moreno---Sakho---Matip---Clyne ----------Karius Bench: Origi, Wijnaldum, Lallana ,Milner, Lovren, Smith, Mignolet I still think we will get another defender but I actually like this team. I want to put Grujic in there and he may very well be if he continues to impress. It's a big US tour for a lot of our players. Will be very interesting to see what Klopp does.
Asked Klopp where he sees Wijnaldum playing. He said he could be one of the 3 or the 2 in 4-2-3-1 or either side in 4-3-3. Versatile. #LFC
The LFC store is having a sale on last years stuff right now. Got the home shorts and training shirt for under 40 bucks with free shipping.
I think this is probably the best line up as it stands. It'd be nice to upgrade on hendo and Moreno though.
