I'm a fan of Wandas but it's more top end. Not sure how much funny business goes on there. There are a shit tonne of places. Hit up Champ.
When? I am off the next 2 weeks so.....Very easy drive for me, i would not stay at the same hotel as you though. But It would be fun. I would stay at the pure
I like Wanda's, tho it's touristy. Chez Paree is as good as it gets in North America, Kingdom is my go-to hole in the wall place (cheaper, and girls are hot). Kamasutra is always awesome, and there's always Solid Gold if you wanna go a little bit off the beaten path and see where locals go. Btw, no idea what movie they're filming right now but I spent the evening next to Kit Harrington and Rose Leslie at Buvette.
Saw this bumped and had to echo the recommendation for Chez Paree. Been on a lot of bachelor parties the past couple years and it does not get better than Chez Paree. Jack Parkman
oh and Jack Parkman if your friends put you on stage at Chez Paree (and they damn well should), be prepared for the whole place to see your dick.
Just got back now, I'll have a more detailed post soon but my god was Montreal awesome And the women? What.the.fuck
Yeah, got into a few arguments with SEC posters saying our women were just as hot as any down south throughout the years. Glad you had fun.
Ok now I can give my full review. First day we flew in and got there around 5. Holy hell at those taxi lines at the airport so we got a "limo" for $55 a person. The limo line was about 45 mins-1 hour shorter. Apparently a limo in canada is a Nissan Altima. Saw Georges St-Pierre in line for the "limo" and wanted to get a pic but literally everyone including the airport workers were asking for pics and autographs and you could tell he was getting over it and well...that is probably the last human you want to piss off in that country. Got to the hotel around 4:30 http://www.hotelcantlie.com/ Hotel was pretty nice for what we paid, got a suite. One thing I didnt prepare for was the cell phone service when we got there. Half of my friends immediately had no service and others had it spotty so that was a giant pain in the ass. Went down to Crescent street to immediately begin drinking. We found this place https://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaur...839-Reviews-Le_Warehouse-Montreal_Quebec.html where all food was $5. Figured we couldnt beat that and the waitresses...my god. Ended up drinking something called an "Inception" which was basically 3 shots that fall into a pitcher that is your last shot. Was tough for me to talk for a few minutes after that. We went to this place 3 times when we were there and at night time the place was crazy with a DJ and everyone dancing. Can't talk enough about how hot the waitresses were. One of my friends actually got both of their numbers but naturally he got too drunk to text either. Ended up at Wandas the first night, bought a table a few bottles. Also went to Chez Paree but I'll be honest with you I was so drunk at that point I kind of have them merged in my memories. I just remember they were very strict with the whole "no touching" for a regular lap dance you had to pay the extra fee to go upstairs and then you could only grab tits which was a disappointment. Second day I woke to 64 degrees which was beautiful. Walked the city a little bit to get a coffee before we did the river rafting http://raftingmontreal.com/en/rafting-jet-boating-downtown-montreal/ at first when I got there I was kinda meh to the idea and was thinking I'd rather do the speedboat but after I actually got in the boat it was fucking awesome. The water felt great which with the weather being 64 I was kinda nervous that it'd be freezing but it really wasnt. We had a river good driver that understood we were on a bachelor party and we were all sarcastic drunken assholes and he was really good at going with the flow. Now granted I'm a first time white water rafter but those currents and dips were no joke. At the last dip the biggest wave is called "big john" and our tour guide let us jump out of the boat at the last second and get swept in the rapid and that was crazy. Right before he said "jump" I'm looking at a wave remeniscent of the perfect storm it felt like. From there we went drinking again and eventually I found myself at http://montrealnurumassage.com/ let me just say ended up going again the night before my flight while waiting we see this bar next door that says "sega genesis" on the sign so we check it out. They had that, super nintendo, N64...all of it. Was drinking and playing NBA Jam 96. Awesome awesome bar. this is it http://www.yelp.com/biz/foonzo-montréal-3 Across the street we see a sign that says "laser quest" so the 14 year old in me said Ended up back at wandas taking all kinds of shots with the strippers, ended up having to be army man carried back to my room where I somehow destroyed the lighting fixture in our bathroom. Not looking forward to that bill. Final day we rented bikes and rode the city before we ended up in old town I believe it was called. Went ziplining which again was my first time and was pretty awesome. Then ended up going bar hopping before we ended up at The Keg for a great steak and lobster dinner. A good friend of mine was paralyzed in a surfing accident before the super bowl in miami(the bears vs Colts) and he didnt want to be a hinder on our trip so he couldnt go. He venmo'd us $900 to pay for our dinner so that was great. At that point one of my friends was passed out at the table sitting straight up which had the entire restaurant laughing and staring. Then when it was time to go we woke him up and the entire restaurant cheered. My flight out of montreal was a disaster. I had to be at the airport at 6am so I said fuck it and stayed up all night drinking and figured I'd sleep on the plane and then when I got home to catch up. Show up at the airport, puke, get my ticket and it says "seat: GTE" so I'm thinking what the fuck is this. I show up at the gate and the lady says they overbooked the flight and Im on standby. Naturally I dont get on the flight and the best she can do is put my on standby for the 4:30PM flight and if I cant get on that I'll have to fly to orlando at 6pm. I ended up getting $600 and some change from air canada for my troubles so that worked out. I ended up getting the very last seat on the 430 flight but naturally my bags never made it on the flight which at that point I didnt even care about after spending an entire day in the airport hungover, annoyed, tired, and no cell phone service(how does an airport not have wifi?!) in conclusion a great great trip. Everyone was raving about the city and how nice it is and how it was like NYC minus all the hobos and trash everywhere weather amazing women amazing poutine ehhh ok
The p-e-t airport is the worst i have ever been to, just a complete disaster of an airport i hate having to go transfer from this hole.
Also I'll add I severely underestimated how many people speak French up there and no English. I figured since it was so close to America that English would be pretty common up there...nope. A lot of them could speak English but were struggling
Got home mid Sunday aft. Montreal was a hit again. Spent some time on Crescent, Le Warehouse and Sir Winstons for day drinking, also spent some time at the Omni pool when the sun was out. Dominion Square Tavern booted us out because the entire place was reso'ed for the Celine Dion concert. Night time was mostly down in old Montreal. Place Jacque Cartier was fun. Terrasse Bonsecours had a good vibe in the early evening. And of course two late night poutine. And of course thanks to Champ for his suggestions.
Just got back home on Monday after six days in Toronto and five in Montreal. We stayed a bit out of the way on Sherbrooke and Hogan, but it was still close enough to St. Laurent and everything else. Did some of the touristy things like eat at Schwartz's and La Banquise. Hit a bunch of strip clubs. Kicked it in Old Montreal. It was phenomenal. I'm not waiting a year to go back. I don't think Canadian women, especially Montreal women, have any clue how hot they are. And they're cool as fuck. It's ridiculous.
Hate to put this in this thread but i have to say it, dunnigan is such a moron. He is the cfl version of i don't know what..He is just aweful
For poutines, I like Chez Claudette. Hole in the wall diner spot, but it's an institution. Can't go wrong with La Banquise as it's open 24hrs, but Claudette is where the locals go. Their Special Clau (plancha seared sausage, bacon and ham) is incredible. Poutineville makes really good poutines too. Pimped up (red wine/pepper sauce, etc.), but is really good. If you find yourself in St-Henri, head down to AA diner. Old spot (must've been open for 40+ years), ran by some old man. Lots of love in his thick gravy even though the place looks run down. Otherwise for skiing, Bromont is pretty close to Montreal and is a nice mountain, so that could be a good bet. Tremblant is the highest in Quebec, but also the most $ and a lot of tourists. If it hasn't snowed much, it might be crowded due to the lack of open lanes. If there's been plenty of snow and you like wood skiing (don't know the english term, but the woods in between lanes...sous-bois in french), head down to Sutton. When's the American Thanksgiving? 3rd week-end of November? Not sure if there will even be snow...
Usually the runs don't start in full in Tremblant until the 24 hour relay which is the first weekend of December. It opens earlier but it's hit and miss.
Yeah not the best year if you want to get some early skiing in. Summer was hot and autumn is pretty hot too
Champ you ever been to Provisions 1268 in Outremont their chefs were guest hosts at a restaurant here last night and I heard they crushed it
Yeah, worked for Pablo a few years ago. They make incredible food. Every plate coming out of the kitchen is on point. And they're really good guys too. Glad to know it went well.
