In real life they estimate he was worth 30 billion when he died. He wasn't short on cash or manpower.
Loving season 2 so far, taking me forever to watch it though. Only through episode 6. I had forgotten how hard of a watch this is for the way I watch TV. I'm usually always doing something else, pretty much impossible to do that with Narcos since I know very little Spanish.
I'm the same exact way. I can't even begin to tell you how many times I have had to rewind scenes because I realize that I missed five minutes because I was doing something else.
Only gripe about the season is what they did with La Quica. They portrayed him as the most ruthless yolo gangster then all of a sudden he's the 1 too scared to do the Montecasino and turns on everyone, just didn't fit how they made his character. Absolutely fabulous though and don't wanna be bitching, just bothered me.
I didn't see it as him being scared, he just knew he was going to die. That'd be like volunteering for a suicide mission
they're all tough until they have to face the music. i think that's what the show was trying to portray. a lot of those guys snitched
So was it really just Pablo and a few people at the end? I thought he still was running shit and had a big following up until the very end?
this reminds me, I actually thought Limon's arc was wayyyy underdeveloped. In ep 1 he's hesitant to even take the job, and they turn him into the cold member of the inner circle way too quickly.
The Real DEA Agents of 'Narcos' Break Down What Season 2 Got Right http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/li...item/murphy-pena-escobar-narcos-season-929031
I just interpreted that on the show as more of Pablo's guys kept getting arrested or killed so it was easy for him to work his way up quickly.
Kinda want season 3 to be about people I don't know much about but the Cali guys are a pretty fascinating group. Season 1 to me wasn't all that well made but still very entertaining, definitely trust them after season 2.
Man, I just got to the part where the grandma leads Los Pepes back to the house because she had to attend mass. I would have thrown her out the window at the gunman with a grenade attached to her.
reading this thread as I finally got around to watching this. Finished season 1 just now and since I'm off work all week I'll probably finish season 2 in a couple of days. I remember watching this HBO movie on Barry Seal as a kid: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0101766/?ref_=nv_sr_1
I honestly don't think I'll watch season 3 or 4. I enjoyed Pablo and don't really care about them trying to catch Cali.
Just getting around to watching Narcos, currently on S2 E3 As a history buff this stuff is pretty fascinating Also found this
I just watched S1 and S2... pretty great show. The pace of the show was crazy. Kinda get lost in the show and had to remind myself this wasn't some made up shit that Escobar was legit and did all this shit. I like the subtitles... forced you to watch the show and not multi task. It also helps my spanish lol
That looks good, but no fucking way am I going to be able to take that scene serious where Gabriel Iglesias is a gangster
I feel like this show doesn't get near the publicity it should. Maybe because it's a genre and specific story that's been documented countless times. I'm gonna miss Moura though. He was impossible to take my eyes off of when he was on screen.
