Put 100 hours in to the original. I feel I didn't really understand how to play the game since I wasn't a huge RPG player then. Might kop even though I shouldn't.
I'd be opening a can of worms. I sunk 100 hours into this originally as well and accomplished fuck all. I'm going to abstain, for the sake of my social life.
Never played this but I loved Witcher 3. Should I get this? Heard the story/acting isn't nearly as good as W3.
They are very different games. I love them both. It's not uncommon for people playing skyrim to not even pay much attention to the story. I didn't even play the main quest for a while. It was one of the last things I did.
it's like comparing call of duty to halo skyrim is a more fantastical, has worse combat (or better depending on who you ask), and is far less linear. skyrim has more magic but less narrative. idk, i didn't really like the witcher but loved skyrim.
Probably going to wait for a price drop. Played the first one back on the XB360, but none of the expansions.
Loved it. I'll get it once I get through my backlog of games and get tired of battlefield. I think it's easier to get sucked into skyrim than witcher if you don't have as much of an rpg background, but would argue that the witcher had better dialogue and quests.
I'm just gonna go ahead and say it. Skyrim is one of the clunkiest, least enjoyable, overrated 100 hours anyone could spend on any one game.
Same general thing except more to do, only melee weapons/bows/magic, deeper/better lore, and a fantasy setting.
I'm up to 467 hours in Witcher 3....... I got Skyrim a couple of years ago when it was on a Steam sale. Played it to where you make it to a village and then just lost interest. Same thing happened when I tried Oblivion. Did not have this problem with Dragon Age tho.
I started Elder Scrolls with Oblivion, I'm sure if I had gotten into the series much earlier, my view of it would be much different. Don't get me wrong, I thoroughly enjoy the lore of Elder Scrolls and have several hardbacks that need to be read.
the combat is truly terrible but i've found an archery/conjuration/restoration build minimizes the ugliest parts
Kop it. Combat isn't at good as the witcher but the game was great. I didn't really care for RPGs until I gave skyrim a chance. Now it's my preferred type of single player game.
got remastered free on steam, tried to play to see improvements, screen just goes black but i hear the music and all playing like it's loaded. no idea how to fix it after adjusting a bunch of settings like resolution and such. cool bug.
I bought it and am back in. Started with an archer this go around Kind of want to reset and be a big bad heavy bruiser. I couldn't get into witcher 3. Live sky rim thougj
Didn't get much of a chance to ply it yesterday. Biggest improvement over the original are load times and you have a much better draw distance. Better feeling of immersion.
I never have played Skyrim with a 2 handed heavy armor build. Bought the game, made my character build just for this purpose and it is nice not having to sneak around anymore. I enjoy walking into an area and just pounding fools with a war hammer.
Sneaky archer for life. Redoing some of these missions will be a pain in the ass. I think it was the main quest but you have to go way up into a dwemer castle/ruin and retrieve a map or something. Cutting the valves off because of the poisonous gas. That's the mission that stands out to me that I never wanted to redo.
I don't mind that mission, I just didn't want to redo the Dawnguard DLC again. However, I grinded it out first so random vampire attacks wouldn't kill off NPC's that I need.
Picked it up in the Target B2G1 deal Not even gonna start it until I have very little else to play and not worried about when since it's all offline. Looking forward to it. I rage quit it entirely on 360 when it froze after about a half hour in.
As soon as I first went into the Dawnguard area I was attacked by two named characters and a generic dawnguard soldier. Killed them and then went up to the castle to meet the main guy and nothing was mentioned. Is this normal?
Asked for this for Christmas since I didn't need it right away since it's offline. Will be purchasing myself if no one buys it. Did 1 handed the first time I played it. Might try to go archer route this time. Really looking forward to playing this again. My only platinum trophy on PS3
Ditched this dude Friday night and built a tank Orc and started over this weekend. Got to level 29 and haven't even done any main quest besides kill first dragon. Heavy Armor already at 90 two handed already at 99
I'm not playing the remastered, but I am on my 2nd full playthrough the past month or so. First full playthrough I did sneaky wood elf archer. Put somewhere like 150ish hours into it and it a lot of the main quests and did the dlcs. Ended up around level 50. This time I've done a dark elf mage and it's been awesome. Already a higher level at only ~100 hours. Just use a lot more skills when you rely on magic. For a while at the beginning used mixed armor so it brought light and heavy up. Using bound swords got one handed and conjuration up. Both hit 100, made one handed legendary to keep leveling. Restoration, destruction, and alteration all high level. Stopped using armor after getting the archmage robes from the college of Winterhold. My AC is 300 though after ebonyflesh/mage armor perks. Been doing a lot of other things too. Running through ruins and stuff i dont have quests for. Barely scratched the surface on the main quests, finally getting around to dawnguard now. Was a vampire for a while, then a werewolf when I ran through the companions quests, now a vampire lord. Working to make Skyrim a vampire's paradise. Needless to say, I love this game. I love Elder Scrolls. We got Morrowind when I was in HS and never beat it, tried to play it on my Xbox this past year and it's so damn clunky it's frustrating. Got Oblivion for Christmas last year from my brother, finished that after my first full Skyrim playthrough. So much great lore in this series. A new ES game should be on the Bethesda pipeline in the next year or two.
I forgot.. how do you make a skill legendary? My smithing and enchanting are at 100 already. Been doing a combo either sword and shield or duel wield viking tank (named Ragnar Lothbrok of course). Using various mods this time around just to have fun with it. I haven't even finished the Whiterun quest line yet. Started on Dawnguard so I could make sure no NPC's i need get killed by these vampire bitches.
You should just be able to do it by looking at that skill on the skills screen. Below should be a prompt to make it legendary.
I still want to know if something fucked up when I went to Dawnguard and if it will screw me later in the game.
Also the ork berserker skill is unstoppable with armor and two handed being so high for me. Can kill any enemy with two hits if in that berserk mode
Gotta get a steward to do that shit for you. I started building shelves and shit and it was terrible. But it does get your smithing up making 100000 nails
