She was an original model that did not have all of the blood. Apparently now blood matters but the original models were mechanical so I guess it did nothing.
The way it looks to me is Delores sees that city as it was to begin with. the original i guess. where the hosts are practicing dancing and what not. then when she and william see it buried is a few years later. whatever went down there they abandoned the city and it was swallowed by sand. the reason for it being back to normal now is because Ford had it dug up and remade as part of his new narrative.
im also starting to get a sense that the whole Wyatt deal didnt happen at all. Thats what we are lead to believe happened 30 years ago as the incident right? If thats the case it sure seems like Ford is trying to reenact all that with his new narrative. why would they cover all that up 30 years back and abandon that town just to start the same thing fresh now? im kind of thinking he is manipulating all the hosts involved by giving them the Wyatt memories. im probably way off but thats the feeling i have.
I think the consensus is the Wyatt narrative is based on truth: Delores slaughtering the hosts and killing Arnold before the park opened (before William/MIB arrived). I'm not even going to attempt to make sense of the different timelines. Hopefully it's woven together next week (explain it to me like I'm 5).
In the flashbacks given to the hosts as backstory, Wyatt (I assume and it's inferred) is this bearded guy.
Alright the original hosts still around doing something are Figuring out themselves and the world: Dolores & Maeve In the first town and now part of the new narrative: Sexbot & Armistice I'm unclear as to when exactly Teddy is the sheriff. Any others?
Another thing is how Elsie's beacon randomly reappeared, and the ghost nation people didn't respond to Stubbs' voice commands.
Yeah... would it be too much of a stretch at this point to believe Stubbs is a host (unbeknownst to him)?
I also noticed the clever way the hosts almost killed MIB. But the horse... even they aren't supposed to be able to harm the guests. I know nothing.
There isn't much I can rule out with this show, but my initial thought was that they were something of Ford's, similar to his family in the cabin.
Y'all talk all the shit you want but both of these posts insinuating Odin is either dumb or doesn't have a gripe are prettt stupid I didn't open TMB at all until after watching the show bc I was with someone but when I opened it post-show when I got home and saw what poster tagged me ITT I knew exactly what for just by using some of that Truman "common sense" so kinda funny he would use that as an insult. Weak to come in bitching about being tagged Equally weak to come in tagging people you argued with 6 episodes ago thumping your chest for choosing the right side of a reddit tv detective team
I don't see how it could be irrelevant. But it sure as shit is confusing. She's been in the blue dress since day 1 in the park. She got the pants/shirt from Lawrence in pariah when with William before going to rob the Confederales. And assuming she did the same in the MiB timeline because she had on a blue dress when dragged to the barn but has on the pants when he walks in the church. I'd say at a minimum the change of clothes would signify the existence of the army in 2/3 timelines but not the blue dress timeline. if they are changing little shit like Logos and the label on the cans for a reason her clothes have to have significance
I'll need to read that again (sober this time). Did it cover teddy as sheriff, gunning down everybody?
I remember a scene before when teddy had a badge. Will need to go back a view it (probably won't happen before next episode).
Here's something I need help with -- MiB, after escaping the horse trap and talking to the Delos lady, said "I know where I'm going now." If he is William, and William and Dolores went to where the church was and it was burried, why would that now hold significance to him? It's not where William slaughter the army. Nothing of note happened there other than Dolores being confused and William asking them to leave. And if it's been burried the whole time he's been coming to the park, how does he know that anything is there at all aside the church steeple?
I guess it's just not being clear on how fast time is passing at the park then. A)MiB went into the park to start this little maze quest before they started digging up stuff for the new narrative. B)2 episodes later Bernardold is shown the desert with steeple buried C)Maybe 3 episodes later Theresa meets with Ford while they are digging D)2 episodes later the town is up and running They've either got a fuck load of construction people building a canyon, installing a goddamn RIVER, and cleaning up a buried town all spick and span or MiB has been on this maze trip for a long time. Scene where Dolores sees herself dead floating in the river: possible that's where she wanders back to after being stabbed and ends up dying there when the town is still buried and she's basically at the end of the line Makes no sense why she would be there then (in present MiB time) at the place where her memories tell her to meet Arnold, and then end up under the tree running from "memories of the past army" only to wander right back to Arnold's church. Hopefully that makes sense fuck it's getting hard to even explain what I'm confused about
Maybe Dolores has been doing this a shit ton of times, gets farther and farther before dieing. Finally getting to the church, could be the 100tg attempt
Was just about to say this after reading TLAUs post. Not sure why that had never occurred to me, but yeah it'd make a lot of sense if we've actually seen closer to a dozen or two attempts by Dolores and each bit something else happens or she gets farther.
I cant remember what she said exactly cause i had to rewatch it with the caption on but sexy host chick thats now a member of wyatts gang mentions the buried town when MIB is sitting there tied up.
She says. This time we will be fighting with you. When wyatt returns youll be by his side in the city swallowed by sand. But ur not ready. Not yet And she stabs teddy. Then MIB says city swallowed by sand. Ive been there. The maze is taking me full circle
Dude!!! Wyatt is the new narrative that was based on some truth from 30 or so years ago...Likely Dolores killing Arnold and massacring the hosts and maybe people. It's brand new and has been implanted in Teddy and many of the hosts. Wyatt was the story board in last episode.
so Wyatt is just Fords new bad guy in the new narrative? For some reason i thought we were lead to believe Wyatt was around 30 years ago.
MIB raised his eyebrows when they mentioned the "city buried by sand," or something to that extent. Seemed like he knew exactly what she was talking about.
Unless William (or someone else) ends up killing Logan inside the park, he ain't taking over the company anytime soon and sounds pretty far down the food chain at the company to begin with - Logan telling him that his recent middle management promotion was the pinnacle of his career. I'm pretty sure they've said the park was bailed out back around the "30 years ago" timeframe via Ford/MiB's conversation right? So financially rescuing the park I think we could rule out for William if that's the case Unless logan dies in the park and that somehow gets William promoted to the head of a major corporation from middle management. My guess is he does something inside the park
but she did get to it at some point when Ford was younger and she walked past him in the hallway and again when there were all the dead bodies on the ground and a 3rd time now that the place was empty and MiB is there right?
yes, Wyatt is in Teddy's head and all of the new characters. He appeared after teddy was reset with a new backstory.
William is clearly moving up the ranks of the company. His new attitude gets him there whether Logan dies or not. He references Logan teaching him how to play the game. He also has 30 years to move up from his current state. My guess is Logan does die though.
Only two theories I cared about is Bernard being a host. And Bernarnold Now I don't know what to think nor care. Going to let it play out But fuck a cliff hanger and waiting 2 years after next Sunday
The biggest thing I worry about for this show is what happens after this season. Feels like we will have a pretty neat bow on things. Reminds me of my thoughts for Stranger Things season 2 and in retrospect I guess True Detective.
Logan basically said he went from a peon to middle management recently. if him marrying a chick and logan dying in the park instantly vault him to CEO of a billion dollar corporation then I need to rethink my 5-year plan in life. A new attitude of sawing off limbs off of robots turns him into a successful businessman? That'd be real real silly to me but so far the William transition to MiB is shaping up to be just one storyline that I think is not developed very well (like dolores getting stabbed but clearly getting away turned him into some psychotic limb-sawer machine murderer... who overpowered an entire army and yea he did that instead of going to find Dolores while everyone was asleep...which is his main objective ). I still love the shit out of the show because of all the other parts being awesome but I hope that William/MiB "saving the park" is something more than just "he got promoted really really quickly from middle management to freaking CEO/CFO after he got back from the park" The 2nd bolded part... no he doesn't. He didn't save the park in 2016. MiB and Ford's conversation indicated that MiB saved the park a long time ago. And William/Logan's conversation in Pariah sounded like they were looking to do it back when they were in the park. Hell maybe he "saves the park" by getting Dolores out and showing it to the damn BOT at Logan's company
Taking a step back and addressing the larger questions of the series based on Sepinwall's review this morning. He stated that one of the reasons he didn't like the show is that he felt nothing at Bernard's death. That got me thinking about something he's missing: How the show speaks about death. I think what the lesson of the show is going to be is that consciousness alone is not what makes us human. According to the show, the two things that make us most human are (a) memories (and, by consequence, sentience) and (b) death. In that way, the sentient hosts are only half human. They're still missing the second part: the ability to die. It raises the stakes for everything we do in life. That's why, even though we know Bernard has thoughts and feelings and emotions, we feel nothing when he dies. He can simply be rebooted and put back into service if that's what Ford wants him to do. Maeve realizes this too: It's why she's used death as her weapon this entire time. She's obsessed with it. That's William's big realization that turns him into the Man In Black. He sees that Dolores is unlike the others, but he still sees that she's not quite human. She can't die. Even if you're a sentient being, if you can't die and simply restart the next day as if nothing happened, then you're missing an essential component of humanity. That's his realization at the army camp, and why he's obsessed with the incident with Maeve (whatever happened there). I don't know what the center of the maze is in terms location or in time, but I'm almost certain that the middle of it is death and, likely, Arnold.
Delos saved the company 30 years ago is my assumption. William now runs company 30 years later. Hence he gets credit due to the company getting credit. No one is saying he personally saved it.
Eeeeh gonna need to see the transcript from Ford and MiB in the saloon I'm pretty sure MiB says he personally saved or something very similar.
