Last year in the NCAA tournament Texas lost to the University of Northern Iowa. We had to return pride to the state by beating UNI in the 2nd round thus advancing to the Sweet 16. Big Brother always having to stick up for little brother.
I mean Florida Gulf Coast beat UT-Arlington by double digits. Pollsters started the Longhorns at #11.
I think smart will do well at Texas. Given the time. Was/is his team overrated? Yes. But I think he's a good coach.
Not that it's really any of your business but I've been posting/reading here since the boards inception. I lost access to the email for my previous name and I had my login stored in my old computer. Just been reading for a good long while. Decided to make another name. That okay with you?
and just what is wrong about my alma mater there shock, Dunk City. Became a Division 1 only 5 years ago and went to the sweet 16 just 2 years after becoming eligible, also was in the NCAA tournament last year as well 2 times in 5 years of existence is pretty awesome
Anyone watching the Bama - UT game tonight? Avery Johnson raping and pillaging in Austin right now on ESPNU. Love it.
We're looking good. Ingram has taken a couple 3s he should have driven, but has had a couple dice assists. Collins started hot.
Bama up by 10 getting owned by A&M reject Avery Johnson Jr. wtx, dome foam, Don Brodka, hood b. goode
VCU coaches have always been overrated. Dana Kirk the only one to go on to any legitimate success and that required him to be one of the biggest cheaters in the history of the sport at Memphis. Jeff Capel had like one good year at Oklahoma, and that's about as good as it gets for former VCU coaches.
Texas basketball improves to 4-3. They are now above .500, something their football team has not achieved in 4 years Lmbo
Is our game next year at Jordan Hare? I hope so because that is where we always win. It's sad your 4-3 basketball team is the best of your major sports
Coming from you, irrational is quite hilarious. Spoiler My story is known around tmb for the most part, I'm shocked you haven't heard it actually. But since you are so interested I'll say it one more time. I was a big time Tennis player back in my childhood and teen years. I won't go into more details than that, but I got offered numerous Tennis scholarships in college, 2 of them being FSU and FGCU. I had known the FGCU coach for a long time and he had recruited me hard. FSU was my dream school my whole life (both parents went there and number of aunts and uncles). My senior year FSU had brought me up for a few recruiting weekends (not as big a deal as football recruitments obviously. Tennis they only give out 3 full scholarships). FSU's men's coach is Coach Hultquist who is still there, said he only had a 1/2 scholarship for me my freshman year and pleaded with me to sign and by sophomore year it would be a full scholly. So I was disappointed to say the least, and although money wasn't an issue at all it hurt that for 2 years he said I would be full ride and now he says it's only a 1/2. Well stupid 17-18 year old sterling knew FGCU had tried for years to recruit me and since they offered me a full scholly I decided to take it so Dunk City it was I could go into a lot more detail but im sure you dont care about tennis so mock away
Spoiler Tennis at FSU is very highly thought of, early 2000s it was a top 50 program, but has since improved greatly and by the late 2000s they cracked the top 10. The 2010s have been up and down but they have always managed to stay top 30 at minimum and top 25 most years. Tennis is extremely hard at the higher levels and most schools can't sustain a lot of success except for the elite Tennis schools like Georgia, ucla, USC, virginia, and texas, etc... But FSU has done very well the past decade. FGCU is a very new school (only have had athletics for 15 years total, most of that as a NAIA, D3, and D2 member) They were Division 2 when I was being recruited and was under "advisement" (for becoming a D1 school, it is a year by year process which is too boring to talk about). So it was very possible I could be on the first official division 1 team in the university's history which intrigued me even as a rebel 18 year old.
UT Arlington currently winning @ #12 St Mary's by 15 with 9 mins to go Better hop on that bandwagon Shock. They're the best team in Texas
They beat the shit out of us in the first half earlier this year, but ran out of gas at the end and we snuck out with a win. They're going to make some noise in the tourney IMO. Very good team
