Demo is available on the store right now. Only 3.7 GB, but taking forever. Guess I'll be waiting until tomorrow.
It's 25 minutes long, worth playing though. Some cool ideas in it, combat is really shitty coming off Bloodborne and DS3. Is real time, doesn't seem like anymore turn-based. Haven't played a FF since last gen though so might have changed. Felt a lot more like Kingdom Hearts.
Don't think I'm gonna enjoy this one. The battle content just seems really dull from gameplay video I've seen.
I had it preordered and cancelled, rather wait for a potential PC release. I just don't play games away from my computer anymore.
It's okay at best, but it's vanilla. One of the main cities in the game doesn't even exist, and another is severely undersized. Combat is easy but there's some nuance. They're adding a bunch of content though including multiplayer so the game is pretty incomplete at this point
I'm 100 hours in and still having lots of fun and haven't finished the end game content. Zwill crossblades are the dopest dope.
Block, party, repeat for 30 minutes. The rooms with 4x tonberrys in Steyliff Grove are the worst. The lvl 120 boss that gets you the Zwill Xblades was pretty rough.
Bought it on sale yesterday for 40 on PS store Really like the combat actually, stupid that you have to pay to fast travel, but at least it's only 10 Gil. Also finally an open world in FF.
true story, in the 60 hours i played before my hdd died i never fast traveled. not that it's expensive, i just liked watching them cruise around in the car while listening to old ff soundtracks. wish they had more conversations tho.
This exactly. Perfect time to load up the next hit while traveling a couple of minutes. And you can always make them fast travel once you're driving
real talk though: you can break the game so easily from the start by playing the pinball game at the second rest stop and getting the best gear Even if you don't do that, it's so easy to stack XP and jump to 30 or so in no time
Serious? Best moment of every final fantasy is when you get that airship and can just go wherever you want.
this game is a little different. the road trip aspect, stopping at random spots on the side of the road, etc. is central to the game. The car is there from the start and is the core gameplay mechanic. Gotta turn on the music and enjoy the graphics, find random shit along the road
Obviously it's the best way to explore, but for actually completing quests/hunts quickly it's terrible.
Is Kingsglaive worth watching? I feel like the story kind of started abruptly with not a lot of background
I've watched most of it and while it also starts abruptly it does fill in some gaps on the time leading up to the start of FFXV
I'll play it one day just not anytime soon. I hold FF to an annoyingly high standard and this doesn't really look like it'll meet my demands.
i mean, diamond is the minimum ya know. with PEDs, who knows what's possible. according to oversumo my symmetra is grandmaster tier, wanna get carried? all i need to do is learn to play her that well on maps she shouldn't be played on.
two things keep me entertained: it's weird as fuck, like FF should be. Second, the grandeur and scope are so great. Exactly what I want from big budget games. First time I rolled the ride down into Goldin Quay was tight. First time seeing the forest and the crazy spiked brontosaurus chilling, or the hurricane bird taking off, etc. The sequence tracking Deadeye was awesome, visually.
