I get OCD about having full sets of named armor and weapons displayed lol. I am disappointed that entire first house only had like two bookshelves the way I set it up. Maybe I need to switch up the design or just wait till I get to build another house. Speaking of, what city does that happen in?
You get to buy land and build houses in Morthal, Dawnstar, and Falkreath. Doing so will allow you to become Thane in each of those holds. Being thane in each hold will help make the civil war storyline go a little smoother. Not just for you, but for anyone who really loves this universe, I highly recommend you use www.uesp.net They are going back and re doing a lot of articles, but it is a massive wiki that will give you everything from info on missions to deep lore from series. Very easy to end up down a rabbit hole.
get a shit ton of iron ingots and an anvil. when you purchase your first house you should have most of the things you need to build a smelter. this will allow you to turn ores into ingots. then just carry a pick ax around with you all the time and you'll run across more iron ore veins than you ever realized. The link in my previous post has an excellent map feature here: http://srmap.uesp.net/ When you zoom in, you can find all of the ore veins across the world. Ore will be depleted after a while, but they come regen after a few in-game days. Every place you can build a house is relatively close to several veins.
Also, with houses, always a good idea to get someone who isn't your housecarl for that hold to be your steward. That way you have two people there guarding your house at all times.
Freaking Aela is my steward there. I have no idea how to change things with that, I didn't even know I was picking her for it.
Bought it earlier this week. never played dawnguard before, always played the base game with no updates. fuck these damn vampires, no need to kill my npcs. would have bought for pc had i known about that.
Vampires and the cultists are just the worst in those dlc's. Anyone have a good mod that keeps npcs alive?
If youre on pc you can console command them back to life.. or just give them all far too much health.
Forgot how easy it is to get lost in this game. Spent a couple hours just wandering around discovering different locations yesterday before eventually making my way to Riften to get in with the Thieves Guild so I can sell all this stolen stuff. Haven't gone to the Greybeards yet but I'm up to level 14 or 15
I haven't played Skyrim in forever but I always play a sneaky archer/sniper type character. Skyrim it was really easy to get way over powered. Once you have all the sneak and archery perks you're pretty much unstoppable. I one shot most of the boss fights and killed the main dragon in a few seconds.
I'm just not gonna get into crafting/enchanting. I did that the first time I played skyrim and it absolutely broke it.
Doing the enchanting/alchemy loop to make weapons that do like a million damage per hit is lame as fuck, but armor rating is capped and 0 cost spells and 0 cooldown shouts are pretty fun. I tend to cheese the 0 cost and no cooldown shouts with enchanting but leave the weapons normal (upgrading with with only basic perks and 25% max fortify)
i, for one, love playing a broke as fuck skyrim. all the damage, all the health, all the magicka, all the carry weight. love just dragging my balls across the face of everything i encounter. I have never once been to the Greybeards
I mean, you can't Fus Ro Dah things off cliffs if you've never been to the Greybeards unless you mean console commands, in which case meh.
Why would you not go to the Greybeards? Do you just play side quests until you get bored with the game?
Its a long walk. Not joking. that was the original reason. very first time i saw where i had to go and thought "nope, not happening." so yeah, i just do side quests. closest i've ever gotten was ivarstead.
Yea I put hundreds of hours into playing it the right way. This time around I'm playing broke skyrim and fucking up everyone.
I dump hours into it so I can break it. I like the grind. That said I wish that NPCs wouldn't try to fucking attack dragons and vampires. Makes my grind strategy harder
I play skyrim how I want, which is how skyrim is meant to be played. Just because I don't run around sending shit flying for no reason doesn't mean i haven't played, it means I think shouts were a poor addition to the game and ultimately unnecessary.
Just got my xb1 x and 4k setup. Is this one enhanced yet? Seems like some say it was yesterday, but others disagree
Idk but there was a Skyrim update in my download queue earlier. Maybe it's in the process of rolling out
this save turned into getting fus ro dah, finishing dawnguard to stop the vampires, and getting half way through the dark brotherhood. i occasionally load it up for a few seconds before switching to a different game.
Thinking about cranking back up and going melee I’m usually an archer sneak kind of guy. Bash some skulls with an orc instead Or dual swords? Never done that either really
What are everyone's favorite mods? Just started with Unofficial patch Carry weight ring Map mod Street markers Rain and snow fx Alternative beginning Color patch Richer merchants
selfishly bumping because i just downloaded this. i like skyrim, but i never got as into it as most people because the game world just felt kind of...empty for lack of a better word. Bethesda's great at designing environments, but vanilla quests, dialogue, and npcs kind of kill the immersion. so i focused on mods that improved that character creation overhaul Divine cities-basically makes each city feel more distinct open civil war-includes material that was cut from the original game rings of carry weighr caesia follower-no idea what to expect here climates of tamriel immersive citizens realistic conversations vampires suck-prevents vampires from attacking npcs in cities relationship dialogue overhaul cutting room floor-basically all material that was cut from the original game the forgotten city-8 hour murder mystery quest. won a bunch of awards, so we'll see.
you guys think bethesda will have a better combat engine for tes6? use the one from eso for all i care
Sounds like Skyrim Together (online multiplayer mod) is in closed beta, and working really well. Impressive accomplishment.
