still think our best lineup is alexis up top, ozil behind him, with iwobi and theo on the wings, and giroud as super sub.
have to say they are probably the most consistent, with both playing individually well when paired together as well. feel like a lot of the time with the other pivot combos one would play well while their partner struggled, or they would both just suck. xhaka-coq had some decent performances from both imo, but they would sometimes struggle vs a high press. xhaka-elneny is okay. thought elneny had a decent game or two in december if i remember correctly. xhaka-ramsey needs a lot of work, but we're pretty much screwed if this doesn't survive the next four weeks.
so Mesut says he only wants to stay if Arsene stays. so for the Arsene out crew, is it worth giving him an extension to keep Mesut or would you rather just move on from both?
Coq seems to always play great when the whole team presses high, intercepts a lot of passes. He doesn't brings much when we're keeping possession (with Santi or otherwise). Santi is our only midfielder who can consistently beat the press with his dribbling. Beating that first man makes all the difference in opening the game up. Rosicky and Wilshire were the only others who could carry the ball similarly to Santi.
Definitely want those two to stay but I don't see how we win the league with Wenger. Think I'd take a new manager over them just to experience a different season (for better or worse).
Rumors in Chile that Atletico Madrid is considering pursuing Alexis. I think that's a lateral move at best, doubt he goes back to La Liga. Would me more worried if the Juventus rumors pick up more steam. Also seen Chelsea links but not from any reliable sources so didn't pay much attention.
Yeah we have discussed this before in this thread, it would definitely be an upgrade. They consistently are able to compete with Real and Barca they just don't have enough money to pay off the refs.
Lol I was gonna say something like that would undoubtedly be floated....only for him to sign for United for 800k a week
