    Are you wide-footed or narrow-footed?

    Narrow-footed = Adipowers
Wide-footed = Romaleos or Legacy Lifters

Wide-footed. I'll look into those, thanks. I think a buddy recommended Romaleos to me once, sounds familiar.

I have a pair of size 12 romaleos in damn near garnet and gold that I maybe wore 5 times. i'd give the 'nole discount if interested, they're the 2's although I just looked it up and the 3's come out in a few days and they look sharp

I got those Red and Black Adipowers for $80 last week. I think I prefer the whites, but I don't hate anything R&B

So the Alaska USAPL director said this

And he and some other notable USAPL folks liked it. I just hate seeing that kind of division in the sport and judging people by what they do in their own home/training

If you're going to make a foray into the powerlifting world, you'd better be ready for some drama, son. The bickering between feds has always been huge and it's only gotten worse with the advent of social media. The die-hards are worse drama queens than the popular girl high school cliques.

In strongman, we only have 2 amateur feds and we're allowed to float between whichever fed we'd like with no repercussions. The only drama with strongman is at the highest level where the owner of Strongman Corp (Dione) battles with her ex-husband (Willie) who started USSF after the divorce. Before that, we were all one happy family with the only drama happening between the two Pro Feds.

Oh no doubt. A lot of it originates from a certain big fed that likes to implement way too many rules and restrictions. My big goal was to qualify and compete at Raw Nats. After this and the IPF world stuff, I'm just going to the USPA and qualify and compete in their drug tested nationals. Shit is so dumb. We all lift fucking heavy weight. Stop being so god damned childish.

Best shoes for performing lifts like cleans? Would prefer something that could also be worn doing squats, etc.

What's a good place to read more about eating properly? About a month ago I changed my diet from eating primarily pizza, burgers, and chips to eating primarily chicken, fruit, and vegetables. I'm trying to lose weight in my midsection, especially on my hips, while eating right to properly progress on this program.

I wish I fuckin knew, man. Way too many conflicting ideas out there and I take the easy way out because I'm a bitch. I've been considering trying keto temporarily to get back into a non-obese bmi. I row and lift weight 7 days a week and continually get stronger. Fat seems to really like me, even in a caloric deficit. I'm getting brainwashed by "Why we get fat" right now, but the short answer is don't take diet advice from a fat guy. I know the "calories in, calories out" mantra ignores the fact that some calories get express lane conversion to fat before you can tap into the energy and then you get hungry all over again. CICO is a gross oversimplification of diet/satiety/performance/cravings. Find something and give it an honest effort for a while. Track it closely. If it works stick with it until it doesn't. Even keto doesn't make nearly as much sense as a permanent lifestyle unless you love it and your blood work and mood support the change.

Renaissance Periodization puts out great stuff, Alan Aragon does as well, Layne Norton has some good stuff once you get past his mental break he's having. Like Tyde said, everyone claims to be an expert and there's a lot of shit floating around out there. I'd say you're doing the best thing you can now and that's breaking bad habits and replacing them with eating lean meats, veggies, and "good" carbs. The weight unfortunately can't come off in specific places. It'll come off all over the place. Just keep eating like you're doing and you'll start seeing changes. After you get in a habit of that, I'd say then get into counting calories and macros.

Good carbs, for me, have a high glycemic index. Meaning slower burn carbs to decrease insulin surges (like white bread will do). It seems to stick with me longer. And drink zero calories if you can. Soft drinks, alcohol, etc should be out of the question at least until you can get a handle on things. I let myself go and it seems to take about 10x as long to lose a pound as it did to gain it. Catch it sooner rather than later.

All about calorie intake. Surplus you gain weight, deficit you lose weight.

You will want to be in a deficit if you want to lose weight. Some people go for 500 or so calorie deficit on non-training days and then eat at maintenance for training days. Some people also prefer to up their carbs on training days compared to non training days. All of this stuff is next level stuff. You sound more like a beginner. I'd aim for a 300+ or so calorie deficit until you start to stall on your training. Lose 1-2 lbs a week for a few months. Eat good protein and good fat, don't go crazy on carbs.

Reason number 72 why training at home is superior.

When it comes right down to it, people who train at home are just better people. Better at life, better looking, smarter, richer, better singers, better lovers. I could go on, but the people who pay for a gym membership would just develop an inferiority complex.

So I coach a friend of mine and she's complaining about soreness and exhaustion. She's squatted 3x/week before and the volume should have been within her MRV. Turns out she was doing sprint workouts every non-squatting day that totaled 2.5 miles worth of sprints. No fucking shit you'll be sore and exhausted.

I tell my wife to do stiff legged deadlifts in her underwear while I'm lifting. Between sets, I whisk her away to the corner of the garage and inject her with some of the massive amounts of testosterone surging through my system.
    Chicks: Check.
    Dominance: Asserted.

Now get back on the treadmill, cardio bunny.

Do you have 100% control of the stereo, use chalk at your leisure, and can train at any hour of the day in your underwear? If you answered yes to all three of these, you're can be a charter member of our sister club.

Been months but am putting off a probable thumb surgery on the other hand so haven't went to the doctor yet till I finish this routine in a month or so

For the guys with wrist pain: I had such debilitating pain a few years ago in my wrist (from computer mainly) that I contemplated a career change. I tried a lot of ergonomic stuff to fix it in an effort to avoid any kind of surgery. Finally stumbled upon the Kinesis Advantage and it changed my life. No wrist pain.

Take a look at it, read about it, and see if it could help your specific symptoms.

Obviously if you have something broken, it's not going to help, but it could help alleviate some stress that could be contributing to overuse/general pain.

It's not cheap, but if you're on a computer a lot, it makes a massive difference. I can get real nerdy with this shit, so if you want more details on exactly why it's better, let me know.
