A Green Lantern movie written by David Goyer doesn't interest me. When is DC going to stop using the same people that were associated with bad movies?
I've been scarred by the Ryan Reynolds film. Just the thoughts of him being trained....One of the worst scenes in superhero films.
Have a GL corps movie with Stewart and Jordan with Sinestro as the main bad guy Jordan kills Sinestro at the expense of innocents, ruins him and he becomes Parallax for GL2
And JL supposedly sucks, too. They need to just blow this shit up and recast everything with totally different actors/writers/directors.
They should really think about turning over movie rights over to Marvel studios. Marvel is out shining DC with lesser known characters and DC is unable to make an interesting movie with iconic characters. At the very least do convince Chris Nolan to direct the next DC movie.
Ok let's backtrack here... Wonder Woman is on par with MOS and BvS? No better? JL is going to suck? Not saying I don't believe you guys but please post a link to where you read that.
Can't say I'm shocked to hear these things. I've been lukewarm on JL since I was underwhelmed in BvS. Need to just nuke the whole franchise and tell Nolan he has total control and a blank check for a reboot
Too many other good movies out this year so the DCEU being an absolute dumpster fire doesn't even register a single emotion with me.
The guy that originally said Suicide Squad was a mess and headed for reshoots said he was hearing very negative things about WW a while back. You don't have to look past the writer/director attached to JL and view the first trailer to know that's going to suck. WB execs have no idea what they're doing.
If WW sucks its DC for TV and cartoon movies and Marvel for regular movies. If WB doesn't care, why should they get my money?
What's the first appearance for him scheduled? JL? Can't blame them for putting their bets on him. He's a massive box office pull and I actually don't mind the casting. I'm sure they'll fuck up the role royally though.
And that's like, next year, if I remember the schedule. And they're already slating a spinoff for the villain from a pretty unknown (in the overall context) superhero movie, in a franchise that is doing shit in making quality movies even for their characters that are beloved by the whole world...
I'm 100% serious when I say that if The People's Eyebrow doesn't inject any life into your franchise, you need to give it up.
Who would you have him play? He could definitely work as Shazam. Could add some diversity and cast a younger version of him as Billy Batson or whatever they call him.
Ill be supremely disappointed if WW is only as good as Suicide Squad. DC will continue making subpar movies that are moderate box office successes. Everyone involved needs to be replaced.
Good question. Shazam is a good idea. There is zero reason to have a solo Black Adam movie. It's only happening because it's the Rock. I would've cast him as Darkseid and built him up over the course of a few movies. Similar to Marvel and Thanos but executed much better.
He should've been Aquaman instead of Momoa, who's basically been trying to channel The Rock's charisma to very little effect.
Even with all of the rumored stories that WW is destined for disappointment, I still think it's going to be a great film. It's one-hero movie, not filled with a bunch of characters running around vying for their solo screen time.
Black Adam can be a fantastic character for DC films and the Rock. The death of his wife and his killing rampage, the Dark Age saga where he tries to resurrect her and his anti-hero super villain back and forth would be great to see on screen. Magic is Superman's biggest non kryptonite weakness and having the Rock as an anti-hero/villain as a constant threat whose powers are derived from magic is a good move.
I just hope they do it right. The Fast & Furious film series has the writing of a 3rd grader. The Rock's lines in those films are cheesy one-liners.
I can't really blame Ayer, when WB gave him basically 6 weeks to start and finish a script from scratch. But this is pretty cool by him.
I feel like everything that's been released thus far is the same scene from the same wearhouse. Just different angles and such.
