King final few weeks was vintage king. He was really good as a heel. Better than JBL or anything not named Corey Graves. That three man crew is odd. Zero Smackdown representation. Should have Mauro call the match.
Cole overseas the announcers at the company from NXT up including training and development. Hes got a pretty big job backstage with the company. It's no surprise he would step down. I'm curious if he would make his way over to U.K. Show and do that with Nigel when it eventually gets going. I hope they move Tom Phillips over to RAW because he and Corey have fantastic chemistry.
They've worked together for years and world have no problems putting on an A+ match. I know either probably could do that with a broom, but Kurt is almost 50 so having AJ there would be perfect.
It's a win win situation for us. If Mauro moves to Raw we finally have our dream team. I think adding Phillips to Smackdown, while clunky, was done to eventually make Mauro the voice of the flagship program.
FanFiction.net is truly a weird place, whatever you'd write would not be out of place. Anyway, I'm looking forward to the day poor Becky snaps. She is the female Sting, a naive babyface.
Yeah and you can write a twilight fanfic, call it 50 shades of grey, and somehow become super rich there too
JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Arkansas State University police are wrestling with a theft case that targeted a WWE grappler. While 39-year-old Allen Neil Jones of Gainesville, GA performed at the WWE Live event Monday night at the Convocation Center, 217 Olympic Dr., someone stole his cash and belongings. Jones, who performs as AJ Styles, reported the theft of a black bag containing $1,000 in American currency and $7,000 in Japanese yen. The culprit also stole an iPhone, a set of Beats headphones, a small screen TV, an Xbox 360, and six Xbox 360 games. The case is still under investigation.
Fucking Jonesboogie. What a terrible place. Also, lol at AJ still carrying Yen around. Maybe he got it from Kenny Omega Spoiler It's not happening.
TNA’s New Gimmick Match Is The Most Confusing Version Of Money In The Bank Ever #TNA BILL HANSTOCK SENIOR EDITOR, SPORTS 01.19.17 Impact Wrestling is under new management, and some old faces are back in behind-the-scenes roles. The company has also just wrapped taping several months’ worth of shows, but it appears some of their big, bold new ideas might need further explanation than just what happens in the episode. Case in point: this week’s show will feature a “Race For The Case” match, and if you don’t know what that is, don’t worry: neither does anyone else. In advance of Thursday night’s episode of Impact, the company posted the official rules for the match on their website. Unfortunately, we’re just left with a lot more questions than answers. I can only imagine how baffling this must have been for the people watching live in the Impact Zone. Okay, so far, so good! Just Money in the Bank, then! Wait … ROUGHLY 12 competitors? You don’t even know how many people are in the match? Is one of the people a portion of a person? WHY IS THERE AN APPROXIMATION OF THE AMOUNT OF COMPETITORS uh what okay well sure obviously yeah Oh, so it’s like the Never-Ending Pasta Bowl, but for wrestles! Why didn’t you just say that in the first place? Pasta analogies are universal! And you have to open the case to reveal the number? Despite the fact that every image of a briefcase in your teaser video shows a number on the OUTSIDE of the case? ARE THOSE DECOY NUMBERS??? Oh, so the opportunities for the person who gets No. 1 aren’t “endless,” they’re just not limited. Different words mean different things, guys. Well, can’t this be circumvented if the person with No. 4 is like, “I want a Coal Miner’s Glove match for the world title” and then No. 2 is like, “Well, I want a Strap Match for the world title,” can’t No. 1 just say, “Well I just want a normal singles match for the world title.” Those are all three different matches and stipulations, right? Is there a limit on number of matches for each title? You should say that, then. And if No. 3’s choice of match gets “rendered obsolete” (you can’t just shoehorn Broken Hardys references into everything, people; we know what you’re doing), is that it? Are the boned? Or do they get to re-pick? Your extensive rules here don’t say they get to re-pick. That’s very mean-spirited, even for a company that used to have a “Feast or Fired” match. OPEN FIGHT NIGHT. I want this to be like open mic night, where just anyone can just wander off the street and try out their free-form wrestling they’ve been workshopping. Although, I guess, in a way, all wrestling events are a lot like a poetry slam. So there you have it: four briefcases, 12 wrestlers (maybe!), and everyone who winds up with a briefcase gets any match they want, unless someone else wants it. It’s less like Money in the Bank and more like Yankee Swap. Oh my god, it’s Yankee Swap as a wrestling match. You’ve Yankee Swap’d us, Impact. You did it, you maniacs. You blew it up.
It's funny because AJ was complaining so hard about having to play on PS4 for uudd's Madden Tournament He's in the Smackdown finals btw, Seth, the reigning champ, is in the Raw finals, I want this matchup so much
Thinking about downloading SuperCard. Are there better times to join than others? No sure I understand the "seasons" thing. Or if an invite helps someone I'll use the first link or w/e that gets posted.
Might as well join now, I'm about 4 weeks in a progressing nicely. It's pretty overwhelming at first because there's so much to do. But it's great, I've stopped myNBA to play this mainly.
Been marathon watching RRs since we're so close to this years. I forget the year, but the one where all 3 commentators joined was awful. Must have been a really down year in star power. And Cole was heel announcer then? It sounded so forced...
About to watch it. Been listening to Talk is Jericho is Omega and Talkin Shop with Gallows, Anderson, and Strowman.
So me and 5 buddies are going to the rumble this weekend (4 of the 6 of us follow it a lot). I am not one of them. Give me a sparknote version of what I need to know and storyline etc. Our fantasy football draft order is determined by the royal rumble so we said fuck it lets go.
First, Raw and Smackdown are two separate rosters. This will clear any confusion about the title matches. Second, pretty much everything about Smackdown is better. The only Smackdown match announced so far is the World Title match. Third, there could be some other matches announced, but a couple of the titles won't be defended because people will be in the Royal Rumble match instead. US Title, Intercontinental, and Raw Tag Team champions are all participating. Smackdown Tag champs will probably enter. Not sure about the Smackdown Women's Title, but I doubt it will be defended. Spoiler WWE Cruiserweight Championship - Rich Swann (c) vs Neville: This division is relatively new to WWE and has it's own hour long show along with segments on Raw. Smaller guys, but both are pretty entertaining. Neville is a high flyer, and was injured when the cruiserweights debuted a few months ago. He came back, proclaimed himself king of the cruiserweights, and started beating the shit out of everyone. Swann is a dancin fool who everyone loves. Should be a good match. WWE Raw Women's Championship - Charlotte (c) vs Bayley: Charlotte is Ric Flair's daughter, she claims to be genetically superior and has never lost at a PPV. Bayley is a happy go lucky hugger. Both are good wrestlers, and it could end up being a great match, but the build to this match has been weak, so it will probably be a piss break match, honestly. WWE World Championship (Smackdown) - AJ Styles (c) vs John Cena: Will probably be an amazing match. Cena is going for a record-tying 16th WWE Championship. People will chant "John Cena sucks" during his entrance, but he is the "face" in this matchup. AJ Styles is 39 years old and one of the best wrestlers on the planet. He debuted in the Rumble last year after leaving Japan. A year later he is the WWE Champion, and he has beaten Cena 3 times, including the main event of SummerSlam. But this is the first time the title has been involved in the matchup. WWE Universal Championship (Raw) - Kevin Owens (c) vs Roman Reigns *w/ Chris Jericho in a Shark Cage*: Should also be a good match, but there's a lot of baggage attached, so bear with me for a moment. Roman Reigns is supposed to be the good guy. The crowd is going to boo as soon as his music hits. He is built to be an underdog, but wins most of his matches, and has been pushed into the main event many times, without ever winning the crowd over. He is, however, an okay wrestler, and has put on some very entertaining matches, that almost make you forget his baggage. Almost. Kevin Owens, much like AJ Styles, built his career in the independents for many years, so the internet loves him. He is a great wrestler, and an all-time great shit talker. The story here is that Owens was "gifted" the Championship when, in a 4-way match, Triple H came out of the crowd, attacked everyone, turned on one of his previous allies, and allowed Owens to win the match. Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho has been allies ("best friends") over the past few months, and it has been quite hilarious. Jericho has interfered in just about every match Owens has had, and there has been some drama between them, but they are on the same page, after Jericho was able to defeat Reigns for the United States Championship a couple weeks ago in a triple threat match where Owens and Jericho beat the hell out of Reigns. Because of all this, Jericho will be suspended in a shark cage above the ring during the match, to prevent any further interference. I'm sure it will be wildly effective. Royal Rumble Match (Raw & Smackdown) - 30 entrants: The winner will be able to challenge, presumably, for the championship on their show at Wrestlemania. There are a bunch of confirmed entrants, but a lot of slots are still open. No one's order has been determined in the lead up, meaning no one has won a match to be #30 entrant, and no one has gotten punished by being put at #1. There aren't really a lot of story lines here, but here's some things to watch: - Brock Lesnar vs Goldberg: Goldberg recently returned to WWE "for one match" against Lesnar at Survivor Series. There was a big build up to the match and Goldberg came out, hit 3 signature moves on Lesnar, and won in a minute and a half. After this Goldberg came back and said he had one more title run in him, and became the first man to enter his name into the Royal Rumble. Lesnar is pissed off. They'll be very close to each in timing to each other so that we can get, at least, another stare down in the ring, ostensibly leading to another match at Wrestlemania. - Braun Strowman: Absolute monster of a man. Still early in his wrestling career. Has been on a path of destruction for a while now after the brand-split. The level of his competition has been questionable, but it wouldn't be surprising to see him do well. - Baron Corbin: Another guy in the early stages of his career. Lot of anger. Someone you want to boo. He'll eventually get a chance at a title. -The Wyatt Family: Cultish group. Current members are Bray Wyatt, the leader, along with Luke Harper and Randy Orton. Orton and Wyatt had a feud before Orton ultimately ended up joining Wyatt's family. There has been some recent in-fighting between Harper and Orton. If they work together, they could win. People would love to see Bray, even though he's a bad guy. -Undertaker: has a match at Wrestlemania every year. Lot of speculation on who it might be, but no one knows at this point. Rumble could set it up. Cena/Undertaker has been talked about for a couple years, so if Cena wins, it could be interesting. Surprise entrants: Stop reading here if you don't want any spoilers. Nothing is guaranteed, but these are some rumors floating around. I list in order from most likely to least. - Kurt Angle: would make a lot of sense. He is going into the WWE Hall of Fame this year (same weekend as Wrestlemania), and he still wrestles occasionally. Wouldn't expect him to win, but he'll get a huge reaction if he returns. - Samoa Joe: Another guy who has been all over the indies. Been in WWE's developmental for a while. Has history with Angle and AJ Styles from TNA. - Shinsuke Nakamura: Japanese guy, was a top talent in Japan with AJ Styles. Left at the same time as AJ, but went to developmental while AJ when to the main roster. People love him, would be big to finally get him on the main roster. - Tye Dillinger: Guy has been in WWE, left for 5 or 6 years, and has returned to WWE's developmental. His gimmick is "Perfect 10" so the thought is he would debut at #10 to get a big reaction. I don't really expect it to happen, but it would get a big reaction. - Shawn Michaels: Has recently been talking about who he would like to face if he came back. Rumble is in San Antonio and that's where he lives. Even if he doesn't show up in the match, I wouldn't be surprsied to see him at the show, since he was on Raw just a couple weeks to promote some Christian movie he made. - Kenny Omega: It's not happening. It is NOT happening. IT. IS. NOT. HAPPENING. BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUT...IF it were to happen, it would be HUGE. Kenny is currently the biggest name in the wrestling world. When AJ Styles left Japan, Omega became the top foreign (Canadian) talent in Japan. Over the past year he's been excelling, and headlined the biggest event in Japan a few weeks ago. That match was arguably one of the best wrestling matches of all time, and blew up the internet. He's been on hiatus ever since. When AJ left and debuted, it was kind of expected. Omega's contract ran out in Japan after that match and he's been very non-committal about what he's going to do in interviews, saying he's open to offers and all the very political responses. He has a lot of creative freedom in Japan, and by all accounts, he values that more than the big paycheck from WWE at this point in time. Japan is also a lot more physical and violent style than WWE, and some believe it would water him down. I'm sure he could adapt his style. His charisma is off the charts. It would be a monster coup for WWE if he debuted at the Rumble. I do not expect it to happen. That's all I got. Sorry for the novel. I would also recommend watching Raw/Smackdown on Monday/Tuesday this week. Should give you a little better idea of what/who you're seeing. Also look for bigpig's write up later this week.
Haven't seen a ton in a few months but I'm assuming AJ Styles is still there. He's the best in the business. Seth Rollins and Kevin Owens are fun to watch also. A few older part timers will be there competing in The Undertaker, Goldberg and Brock Lesnar. Be sure and boo John Cena and Roman Reigns unless you're under the age of 11 or are a virgin.
