considering what Parks and Rec turned into after a mediocre at best first season, I hope NBC gives this show the same chance to find itself if it starts out as slow as reviews have made it seem. I'll keep watching as long as it's on. Schur has earned my attention.
Agreed. If next week's episode is just decent again, Schur would be the only reason I would continue to watch it. Probably took me 3 or 4 chances of watching Parks and Recreation in syndication on FXX to really get into the show. Really disliked it the first few times but it grew on me and I love it now.
yeah i'll continue to watch because i know what this group can do. i haven't yet watched last nights ep, but will be watching tonight.
Enjoying the show. Very interested to see where they go from here after she spilled her secret but I'm also glad they didn't drag that on too long
Yes I feel like they pulled it off just right. Did it soon enough where it didn't get to the point where you like "oh for fuck sake just reveal it already" and it also came at a time where the story forced her to make the right ethical decision, as opposed to forcing it for the sake of forcing it.
Season finale tonight at 8. Crazy it's done already but really looking forward to seeing what they do with the finale
I was always nagged by Tehani being in the Good Place despite being a raging bitch but didn't see that coming.
Haven't watched the finale yet but the elements of a great show are present. Schur does a great job of world-building but I do worry that the concept might be a little high for a lot of people. But this first season has me much more invested in these characters than I was with Parks at the same point. Bell and Danson are great but Janet really steals the show. Jason has been great too. The cadence of his voice reminds me of Riz Ahmed's character in Nightcrawler but he's obviously a lot funnier.
Jason yelling "Bortles" while throwing the Molotov cocktail at the train was amazing. Blake Bortles legacy is truly immortal.
I still had no idea of the twist. I was searching for the thread and it was bumped so I popped in. Glad no one mentioned anything explicitly.
"On your jukebox, we got you all your favorite songs ever sung" "Yeah, by the Eagles! And only the live versions." I'm not a huge fan of Don Henley so this joke really got me good
Was really surprised by the ending Spoiler Wife and I thought everyone was in the good place, but we're there by mistake...Like Eleanor, so did not see that coming
I didn't see it coming to be honest which made it that much better to me. I hope it gets a second season, but if not it was just a great 13 episode run.
So with Tahani, wasn't she the exact same case as Mindy St. Claire to be in the middle place? Or was it bad because it was all self centered even if it produced a good result?
The latter Mindy St Claire never did good while she was alive except for the foundation that she had the idea for but her sister really started it. Thus the controversy
Well the question is. is Mindy even real? Or part of this ruse? I lean toward real since Janet isn't evil.
And it was after Janet was rebooted, so even if they tinkered with her to be different that would have gone away.
Just finished watching the first season. Really enjoyed it. I decided to check it out after seeing some tweets post-finale that made it look interesting. Disappointed I knew something big was coming, just didn't know what exactly. My guess was that everyone shouldn't have been there and they were all accidents. It being the bad place was perfect.
The problem with us knowing they're in the bad place is how will that change the dynamics of how we watch the show. Not sure that makes sense.
