Sevilla now in 2nd place. Great job by Sampaoli!! Didn't have them winning at San Sebastián and so convincingly!
If Sevilla can draw w/ Real Madrid, I think they have a decent shot at staying in 2nd through the end of the month. Unless Barcelona wants to keep shitting the bed, which would be nice.
I watched it after Liverpool ended and saw the 1 vs Villarreal, his free kicks are on another level recently. Villarreal 1 was one of the most gorgeous free kicks you'll ever see, just absolutely pinpoint.
Celta Vigo is looking to move Fabian Orellana after he had a row with Berizzo, the manager. Berizzo said that as far as he is concerned, Orellana is not a Celta player. Orellana has been pretty good for Celta this year, so I am sure teams will be interested in him.
Language/cultural barrier has slowed the spread. Bein is in like 20 million households in the US but it's largely in big cities and the south, ie- where you'd expect to find large Spanish speaking populations. Back in 2012 Bein signed a 3 year deal for practically nothing because the forecasted ratings were almost immeasurable. The game has grown a lot in the US since then in part to World Cup exposure and NBC doing a great job making the PL readily accessible and much more "mainstream". I think you'll see a similar effect (albeit not as large) now that the Bundesliga is on Fox. Would love for La Liga to have similar distribution here in North America but it's never going to be as popular as the EPL simply because of the language differences
i tend to agree, but how does that explain the deal that the bundesliga got? a shit ton of more people in this country speak Spanish than German. I'd also bet more people actively support Spanish clubs than German clubs in this country
I wonder how much of it was the contract coming up and the timing, plus the Bundesliga has more Americans than La Liga.
An absolute shit ton of Americans with German heritage compared to Spain. It sounds ridiculous but I know several people that started following Bayern/Dortmund/Leverkusen/etc because they're of German decent. Same reason why Liga MX gets better ratings than the MLS in many major cities in FL, TX, AZ, & CA As far as the TV deal I remember reading that Al Jazeera (who owns Bein) had right of first refusal when it came time to renew in '15 keeping the price lower than it would have otherwise been. Exactly. It'll be much higher the next time it becomes available, especially if a second option becomes available.
Anybody got a better HD stream for Eibar/Deportivo than this one? http://gibanica.club/setantasport.html
