i watched some guys stream the beta on twitch earlier today and it looked awesome the dueling looks to be intense
looked awesome, watched Liriks stream for a bit fighting seemed super clunky but they had no idea what they were doing so i chalk it up mostly to that
i was watching some guy named like Edehedy or some shit and he was crushing w/ some girl in 2v2s he was the speedy guys and kept crushing everyone who'd go heavy/tanky characters apparently it's all about countering their combos w/ blocks of your own. you just have to guess which way they're attacking
So it was pretty awesome. I'm not sure if there's enough replayability to be worth a full $60, but it was really fun for the few days I played. The Japanese character with the pole arm is super annoying though.
Watched a good bit of the game on twitch. Looks really fun and surprisingly balanced between the classes for a beta. High skill cap too.
Everyone realllly seemed to dig this during the open beta a couple weeks ago, including Force Gaming. I don't know, it's going to take so much damn work for me to be halfway competent.
i hear the samurai is absurdly OP right now i don't care for knights so i'll prob be viking or samurai idk
It doesn't matter what faction you choose to start. It just places you in the overall faction territory war that I really don't even know the purpose of. By the end of the closed beta the Vikings were dominating. You can play whatever character you want regardless of faction affiliation.
I play like a scumbag, don't care. Tackle off ledges is my fav tactic followed closely by poking people from an absurd distance as Nobushi (the samurai with a halberd) Definite buy for me
played it a bit, decided i'm unlikely to buy. combat feels slow and clunky and totally nothing like souls at all.
After watching a bunch of streams, count me in the no buy too. Maybe in the bargain bin at some point. It's a little worrying that they have a review embargo on what basically amounts to a multi-player game w/ a tacked on single player. It would only make sense if it was a well known franchise, with a story that you don't want to be spoiled.
Having played a ton of the beta I can say that it's worth the money. Jumping off the sides of buildings and doing plunging attacks on unsuspecting people is one of the funniest things I've been able to do in any game in a while. Winning in 1vMultiple situations in this is very rewarding and possible. I'm not sure where the clunky feeling comes from, once you learn a character's move set you can flow right through enemies. Also I like the feeling when I win a 1v1 while my entire team is watching. I'm not expecting much from the campaign, but it is online coop so I'm looking forward to plowing through a bunch of AI with a friend.
The multiplayer alone makes this game worth buying. I hope it adds some new game modes, but I'm definitely putting a lot of hours into this game.
My best hero is Raider (big viking guy with a huge Axe). My strategy revolves around cheesing people off ledges and 2 hitting people while in revenge mode. I'd hate to play against myself.
I usually use the Warden because I think knights and bastard swords are kewl. Also because it's good at everything.
what's the closest one to bloodborne/dark souls 3? played peacekeeper and thought it was far too slow.
